Communication is King. This company isn't.

Everything was great. The landscapers worked very hard and got everything cleaned up just the way I wanted it. They trimmed the hedges, pruned the trees and other plants and got rid of the weeds.

Despite numerous requests, I was not given a copy of the plans or work order. I was not given any input in the plant selection. The finished product was nice. The maintenance became a nightmare. Other than cutting and edging, it was a constant fight to get the other maintenance done. Found out that the weed barrier was not out down in the backyard before the rock was put down (I'm sure I paid for it). Had to come back and move rocks and put the weed barrier down. Trimming and weeding not done. Failed to cut the grass week before I terminated them with no explanation. Final straw was receding a bill the beginning of July for services supposedly performed I. February. Still waiting for a copy of the work order - requested so I would know what plants had been used so I could replace some of them. No response. Shoddy work, no work ethic, poor business practices.

Hogans team did a great job today! The owner actually came to check on the work being done and made sure that I was happy with it. He and his team were very nice. The weather was horrible, yet they all had great attitudes and worked effectively the entire time. After todays exceptional experience with them, I had to write a review! I will definitely be using them long term and for any other future projects on my yard.

We had some concerns with our initial landscaping and irrigation service. . Subsequently though, the owner personally called to explain what had gone wrong & the delay in responding to our concerns. He and his staff then bent over backwards to correct the areas of concern .. I would like to commend David , James & Anthony for the time they put in to repair the irrigation system and to redo part of the landscaping. Everything looks beautiful now, & is in working order.

I too called this service provider several times. I also sent them a message via Angie?s List messages. They never called me back, or even replied to my email message. They have an answering service and I left several messages. I always called during business hours. No call back, no message return. So they have a good deal listed on Angie?s List? but you cannot get it. They should at least call back and tell us they are not interested in our business, and take this special down. This should be investigated I think. I too think it is very unprofessional to not return someone calls.

First of all, this is my review as I had the dealing with this company. I would not hire again, nor recommend them. Two people did what they could and cleaned up quite a bit of leaves/weeds but did not do as clean a job, by that I mean there was debris left laying and I am still pulling up straggler pieces. I feel that I was very much overcharged for the whole thing. One of the reply's that I received back from the company regarding the price of the plants proves my point...plus if there were more than 20 repairs completed on my irrigation system, I was not made aware of all 20 of the alleged repairs and why then did I have to pay another company to fix the irrigation system that was supposedly fixed by Hogan Landscapes. When I contacted Hogan Landscapes about the cost of the plants, etc., that I was charged the response was.... "After speaking with JP, he informed me there were more than 20 repairs completed on the irrigation system. On the plants our billing cost includes the cost of the plant, pickup and delivery of the plants as well as installation of the plants and cleanup so the cost comparison is skewed. We can have JP contact you concerning all the repairs if necessary as well as some conversations he had with you while on the property?" They claim to have done 20 repairs on the sprinkler system yet it was not fully operational and putting it fully operational was my understanding with Mr Hogan. Regarding the plants, I could have rented a p/u truck and gone to the nursery and bought the plants they used, and spend a whole lot less than what I was charged. I even offered to go and buy the plants myself! I was forced to pay the balance w/o having an invoice in my hand in exchange and then it took numerous attempts to get them to send me one, not with the breakdown of monies spent as I had requested. 30 Oct 2015 UPDATE.... Mr Hogan reached out to me a couple weeks ago and as I do not feel it proper for me to relate what all was discussed, suffice it to say that he apologized for my situation and offered to pay me for the additional cost that was incurred to get my irrigation system up and running properly, if I would provide an invoice to reflect that. I did this and yesterday in the mail I received a check from Mr Hogan as he had said that he would do. The situation regarding the over pricing of the plants, was partly my fault, and still has me miffed, but it was a learning experience which won't repeat itself. Thank you Mr Hogan.

I received a verbal estimate for the cost of various jobs. The cost seemed extremely excessive. I was waiting for a written estimate to better understand how they price each job but never got one.

These guys were the lowest cost provider and proved you get what you pay for. My husband and I spent all of our time managing their work and finally just fired them because for the effort we were already putting in to make sure things got done correctly and the mediocre results we were getting from their team we could do a better job on our own. If you are ok with so so work in enchange for a low price they could work out for you.

Had to return twice because they ran out of sod on first day and then broke a sprinkler. Came back and completed work quickly

It went well. They actually came a day early. The sod was delivered the nigh before so it did not sit and so was in really good shape to install. They removed the old sod, prepped the area and put in the new sod. They made sure that the sprinkler system was good to water the new sod completely. I had overestimated how much sod I would need and they replaced areas in my back yard that were declining until all the sod was gone. They also removed some tall declining palm trees I had (additional cost but still very good price).

I have a few complaints about Hogan Landscapes. First, they chipped my sidewalk in several spots while edging. I complained to Hogan about this and he denied some of the chips were due to his guys and took responsibility for some of the others. He did not offer to repair the sidewalk or any other compensation. Second, they would occasionally not show up to cut the grass on their scheduled day. I would call to report this and they would always show up the next day, but it's still annoying to deal with. Finally, and most important, Hogan completely blew me off when I asked him for a quote to resod part of my lawn. You'd think since this project would cost several thousands of dollars, and since I was a regular monthly customer that always paid him on time, that he would be quick to measure the area that needed resodding and give me a quote. Instead, he missed several promised deadlines to get me the quote and when I did finally get it the rate he charge ($/ sq ft) was more than what he quoted me on the phone. I would advise you steer clear of this company.

It went fantastic (as usual). Hogan is very dependable. His company runs routes all over Central Florida, and even though his team had already been to my area that week, they went out of their way to come back and service one property (mine). It made a world of difference because I am selling the home and the lawn needed to be in good shape before the final inspection. Imagine a company so dedicated that they would move heaven and earth to help a customer? This is that company.

Hogan's team did very well. We just needed the yard to be presentable, but they were able to make the yard better than it had looked in well over a year (probably ever). They worked very hard into the evening working in the dark. They even cleaned the debris that fell into the pool from mowing and weeding.

They were great ... Prompt and thorough, they worked without break until the job was completed. They then performed a waltkthrough of the yard to show what was completed and provided great suggestions for some areas we wanted to see improved upon (still waiting for the quote on that). Very pleased with the job, and we have engaged them for ongoing maintenance of the yard as well.

Everyone was courteous, friendly, and professional. The estimate was provided in a timely manner. The work (sod, stones, mulch, and weeding) was completed in a timely manner. I am very pleased with the look of my lawn.

The property hadn't been attended to in a year and a half. Hogan Landscape's James and his wife spent all day doing the work of 4 people. They redesigned beds, trimmed, cut, replanted, cleared, weeded and generally beautified the entire property. What started out as an overgrown mess transformed into a lush landscape hours later. They easily added thousands to the value of the property and made it more attractive to buyers.

First of all, Hogan Landscapes was extremely professional without being stiff in their approach. They listened to our needs and concerns, worked with our lifestyle and when we were not clear on needs and expectations, Hogan asked pertinent questions to get to what we wanted. Hogan gave suggestions but were not set on the suggestions; if what we wanted did not seem viable, they said so, but offered alternate and viable solutions. Hogan Lanscapes was extremely creative and wanted us involved in every step of the way. If we wanted something changed because we preferred it a different way, they proceeded to do so and actually welcomed our feedback and input. They looked at the entire job from our perspective. They were on time, courteous and made every possible effor to please the customer. We asked many questions and sought a lot of advice and they gave it willingly and thoroughly. Their follow up was exceptional.

This is a great team. Professional, friendly, detailed, knowledgeable, helpful. Showed up right on time, took their time to do the work perfectly and really did an outstanding job. Incredible attention to detail. Everything you need in a quality landscape artist, as these guys definitely are. I have had a few landscapers on my property in 5 years of being in this house and no one has made my home look more beautiful. Thanks guys.

We live in Montana and so getting service providers for our house in Florida is always sight unseen. Thanks to great reviews and a well deserved reputation we use Hogans on an ongoing monthly plan to keep our home looking great while were away. I highly recommend them to anyone as they are well worth the money.
