There was no time wasted on this job, I pointed out the valve had a leak that needed a small inexpensive cap with a needle that he put on. Since there was no diagnosing involved, I've requested a refund from the company. I have been charged far less for similar service by our now-retired serviceman. Checking with other providers, I found that this service was priced way too high for time and effort spent.
Description of Work: I told him what the problem was, it took him 10 minutes to finish task of replacing a small cap on the filter and putting in 2 pounds of refridgirant.

Based on your review, I can only assume that is correct? It is our standard business practice to quote you our diagnostic fee over the phone. The diagnostic fee covers the cost of sending the technician to your home and diagnosing your heating or cooling problem. Once we have determined what repairs are needed, our technicians are trained to quote you the price to make the repairs before they proceed with any work. Upon your acceptance of our quote, we then begin to make the needed repairs to your system. Did any of these things not happen during our visit to your home? Original review of current system for replacement was thorough and was on time as scheduled. They agreed with parts of the recommendation of previous review but suggested that they could provide a free secondary inspection for another opinion of the current system health which was performed a couple of days later. This review was much more thorough than the previous review and it was found that the compressor was not failing but had a relay improperly installed which they corrected. It was found that after inspection of the coils inside of the air handling unit that the coils appeared to be leaking. A test was performed that located the leaks and determined that the coil would eventually fail. As the unit is still under warranty after 8 years, a price was given for labor to replace the coil unit. The only complaint I have is that it took Green's almost 10 days to get a quote back to me to replace the unit. Once received though, the quote was very complete and explanatory about the work to be performed although higher than other quotes I have received since then for the same work. I have not done anything to the unit yet and I haven't ruled out using Green's as the installer either.
Description of Work: Provided a quote on a new system at our request based on a recommendation from another company that the unit be replaced. Also offered a free second opinion inspection to determine what their recommendation would be. They performed this inspection a few days later as arranged.

Saw all the great reviews on Angies list and so we called them to come look at a central AC unit. We specifically asked on the phone if the $79 service call fee would be applied to the bill and they said yes and if it only needed to be cleaned the total bill would be less than $90. Then they looked at it and said it needed to be cleaned and it would be $296 + $79. What a SCAM and waste of time. Now we need to get a new company out here ASAP, plus we're out $79 for nothing!

While it is true that we have a clean a service special that would have cost less than $90 dollars, the service technician that was at your home was recommending and much more thorough service to your system. Due to the build up on your coil, we felt that to address your issues it was necessary to pull your evaporator coil from the Air Handler and apply chemicals to remove the build up. Unfortunately this procedure takes considerable time and materials and we are not able to perform that task for the same price as a standard cleaning. Imagine if you will the difference in having a basic wash on your car as compared to a thorough detail and wax. I am sorry if you did not feel like we communicated this clearly to you. We always try to be up front with our customers and provide them with enough information to make an informed decision. My A/C was on and working, it was just blowing out warm air. I immediately thought maybe it was freon. They came out relatively soon, by my fault it would have been sooner if not for some appt.'s I already had scheduled that day. The technician, Steven, came out and offered a pretty quick diagnosis. Steven was able to take care of everything right then except for the valve because he didn't have it on him but assured me they would let me know by afternoon the next day if they had it and if they did, they would come out and fix it same day. Maybe he shouldn't have made that promise, but when I called them the next day, after they had not managed to get back to me in the time that Steven had quoted me at, they indeed told me they did have the part and would be able to put it in "next week". I informed them that my air was currently not cooling at all and "next week" would be pretty inconvenient. The man on the phone informed me that he was not aware that it was not cooling at all and would then have someone come out the following day to get it done. Although I did appreciate their new sense of urgency to get it fixed as soon as possible, it still bothered me that they couldn't get out there that day like I was told by their technician the day prior. All in all though, It was a very good experience. I had been using another big, local company for years, but after this experience, I will use Green's from now on more than likely. My only reason for giving them a B is because I felt like they didn't get back to us or call us with important updates in a timely enough manner. My biggest compliment is their customer service when it comes to their staff. Everyone from the technicians to everyone I spoke with on the phone was nice, professional, and patient. That's a big plus!

The job was handled well and professionally per the original quote. The price was competitive with other bids. When it was identified that the existing zone board and one of the thermostats were incompatible with the new system, Greens replaced them at no additional cost to us. They took the time to address questions and comments and explained the installation and operation of the new system. While there were changes and challenges (as with any significant construction job), they handled it professionally and kept us informed as to the progress while honoring the original quote.

My usual AC guy wasn't available.......so I called Greens. They were very nice on the phone and the repairman came right out. He found the problem in 5 minutes and had it totally fixed 10 minutes later. EXCELLENT job!

When I first called the woman who answered the phone was exceptional. She was very friendly and prompt to address my concern. I called at about 9 or 10am and was told it would be until around 3-4pm that the tech would arrive. Being hot and miserable the time could not have ticked any slower. My AC was not working at all whatsoever so I would assume that would move you to priority however it is the hottest part of the summer and I'm sure they're slammed. When my technician arrived he was also friendly, at first. I watched over him and asked lots of questions because I want to know what's going on with my system and how it works so I can try and see if they are not stumbling to provide me an answer (testing their knowledge). I do have to say the tech was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem that the compressor motor was jammed and it was going to be pretty expensive to fix (we're talking $2000) if the part was not under warranty. He told me he would have one of their staff members call Carrier to find out if the part was under warranty. The tech then proceeded to suggest other repairs and services I should preform. I understood why he was suggesting them but I honestly don't think I needed all of that. To boot he also offered to install a proper thermostat which I found to be the wrong thermostat for the unit before he arrived. The cost for the thermostat (touch screen) was $400. This in my opinion is way overpriced. I found a very simliar thermostat on lowes.com that I showed him that was $69. I asked him if that thermostat would work after googling the installation instructions for the $69 thermostat. He said it would but then seemed to get moody and half snapped at me saying "the internet is not going to fix your A/C". Excuse me but I was doing a price comparison and trying to educate myself on the system. I never said it was going to fix it or attempt to fix it myself. I thought this was a little rude. As he left I paid for the service call. As he walked out the door I thanked him for his help and he didn't look back and threw his hand backwards to "wave". The impression I got was that he was upset that I was shopping online for parts he was trying to sell me. Two days later I still haven't heard back from them regarding the part they want to replace. Meanwhile I've contacted another company for a second opinion, who verified what Greens had said so I knew at least they were honest in diagnosing the issue, but has also resolved my issue and I finally have AC again! Meanwhile as far as Greens goes has left me in this 100 degree heat for 2 days now. I even called they day after to follow up and left a voice message that was never returned. This is unprofessional especially when you're clients are in extreme heat. This is a health hazard. Fortunately I don't have any elderly or children living here! Overall I'm disappointed in their customer service and feel they left me out to boil away in this insane heat.

We were disappointed that the unit was not fixed and all the refrigerant leaked out again. The company did refund some of the money because of our dissatisfaction.

I called Greens at 08:00 hours and was told I a technician would not be available until after 13:00. Max (the technician) showed up 30 minutes early. Considering how hot my home was by that point of the day, I was very happy he arrived early. Max was very friendly and polite. He listened patiently to my explanation as to what was wrong with my A/C. He explained what he was going to do, and then commenced his business. Within 10 minutes he showed me the malfunctioning part, and provided me with an estimate of the cost of repair. Also, he gave me a positive assessment as to the condition of my A/C unit, which, to me, was an indication that he was not trying to milk me for every dime. He gave me tips as to how to extend the life of my A/C unit and sold me (not high pressure at all, and having dealt intimately with a troublesome A/C unit in my previous dwelling, I knew the unit was filthy after 19 years of operation) on purchasing an A/C tune up package ($74). Also, he tried to sell me a regular maintenance package (3 visits in 18 months?sorry, but I forget the price) . Again, he did not use high pressure sales tactics, and moved on after I declined the offer. Max went to work and 90 minutes later my home was cooling quickly. When we settled up, he noticed I had printed out a $20 coupon from Angie?s List and happily adjusted the total. I was very satisfied with the services provided by Greens. I felt they dealt with me fairly and honestly. The tech tried to sell me on additional maintenance services, but did not try to grind me down with the hard-sell. He explained in detail what was included in the package and answered my questions completely. I would recommend Green?s to anyone in my predicament. I felt as though they were looking for a long term business relationship as opposed to squeezing me for every penny at our first meeting.

Greens was very prompt and professional from start to finish when we purchased our heat pump. We did not have any delays or difficulties as we have experienced with other professionals we have used. Our new system was installed in one day. The crew came early A.M. and did not leave until they were finished in the afternoon and left no mess. Any questions I had after installation I could call Mr Davis the installation supervisor and he would help me immediately.

The overall installation was professional and went well except for the incorrect installation of the drain pipe. Disappointed with the quality of the service support since I could not get in touch with anyone. I was lucky to get the unit running again, but if I wasn't able to the unit running I would have to wait over 24 hours for someone to shown and fix the problem for a bran new installation.
Description of Work: Replaced my old package unit with a new one on Saturday and got an error message on Sunday. I tried reaching reaching the customer service but could not get in touch anyone. After about 5 tries decided to turn the breaker switch off and on which seemed to restart the unit. Noticed there was condensate water around the unit. The drain pipe from the unit was installed incorrectly which caused the water to flood the unit causing. It was corrected on Monday afternoon.

Tech was professional and friendly. It was after dark but he worked with on the ac and had it fixed in an hour. He expalined what he did and went over charges. Very pleased. No AC on a hot Florida night = no sleep.

Description of Work: The "technician" found a leak in our system, but failed to fix it before "recharging" the refrigerant for an overpriced amount. He knew that the refrigerant would leak out and we would need more h"help". Thankfullly, a friend gave us the name of a competent, honest and professional person who did fix the leak and charged us a lot less to refill the refrigerant. We were ripped off by Green's guy. We will never call them again.

I called first thing in the morning to schedule service and they came out in the afternoon around 2:00 PM. The tech, Ernesto, was very professional and was very thorough, and explained in detail what needed to be repaired. His quote was fair and accurate. Within a half hour of the tech's arrival, our AC was working and cooling our home from the hot Florida sun. Overall I was very satisfied with their service, and will use them again for any future AC issues.

happy customer called to get a service on my air con system .my management company had already spent $800 on freon and did not know where the leak was coming from thier solution replace the system after years of this kind of sevice and negligent costly advice i decided to call angies list best thing i could have done looked through the contractors and called a couple some did not operate in my area but were very helpful and proffessional finally called greens air con company from orlando they were first class we were going back to the uk in a couple of days and needed piece of mind to resolve the matter they gave me a priority appointment for the next day arrived on time asked me all the relavent questions so he was informed as he needed to be . identified the problem within five minutes the one my management could not find in two months provided me with three options replace complete system as a last resort replace internal condenser unit preffered option as this in my case with provide at least several more years or more life to the system. this was the actual source of the freon leak and would be obvious to anyone that knows about air conditioning the last option top system up with freon again not that he recomends this option. iwas quoted $1700 for the part and fitting i was happy with all the advice pros and cons of my options and was able to make a calculated decision based on the facts,and the confidence in the company, the end result, and value for money. stepen was the gentleman who came to carry out the inspection and installation he was proffessional polite and informative . a genuine contractor out to exceed expectations. at the end they charged me just over $1600 they also inclded a one year service contract with three system tune ups and did not charge me the original $79 fof the service they provided prior to the condenssor being installed my total costs could have been $1800. i would have paid that gladly with the service provided they now have me as a greens customer well done angies list and well done steven piece of mind is priceless from a scotsman that has 12 years owning and trying to maintain a holiday home to all you short term rental home owners this is a better option than the management companies mr fixit. ambrose..

Greens did an exceptional job. The initial quote was exact. The work completed was superb. We called for an estimate for replacement, and Garry did a thorough job examining existing (inside and out), walking the house and taking measurements (for correct sizing and rebate purposes), and provided three recommended systems. We went with the Lennox XP21 (17.5 SEER). Installation was scheduled three business days after we called with our decision. The installation team showed up when expected (actually a bit earlier than expected) - Chris, Bryan, James (sorry if I left someone off) - all very professional and courteous. Old system was easily out, new system went in with the only snag being that we needed to move the house's fuse box from inside the small converted AC closet (1955 home) to the outside. This move extended installation by a half a day (they originally expected to be done in 1 day). Once the new system was fully installed and all the new lines were placed, they finished the floor and air return of the closet (left unfinished with the previous AC's installation), really cleaning up the area, closing off internal framework that was exposed, and patching and repairing holes. Outside, where new lines were run, they filled in (cement) any openings to the crawlspace where new lines were pulled, removed an old, unused water heating system (patching/capping lines as needed). We couldn't be happier.
