The first young man (Tito) came out just to check things out. He did an excellent job. We have never had anyone spend so much time on a regular checkup. He was cleaning things and changed some fan speeds etc. He did much more than we expected, and the price $74.00...very reasonable. This was April 11, 2011. Our air went out late in the day on July 11, 2011. Our technician was Charlie. He arrived at 7:50 ( about 45 minutes after we had called). He was very personable and very capable in diagnosing the problem. We needed a new compressor contactor, which he replaced and we had air that evening. We still need a new fan control board...it is on order. The main thing is the house is cool!! The after hours call was $99.00, and the entire bill $299.00. We will use this company again, and I would recommend them to any friend with confidence.
Description of Work: We have had Green's out twice...once for checkup and the second time our air had gone out on a very hot night!!!

Tech showed up on time and when promised. I received a call 1/2 hour before they arrived which was nice. Tech was a true professional and even in the FL heat of the day (noon) was up in the attic looking for leaks. Good work and I'm as cool as a cucumber.

Susan set us up with less than a days notice for the service and repair. Sean the service tech was professional, knowledgeable and identified the problem and resolved it promptly. The cost was as quoted. Everything went as expected and now I have a properly programmed thermostat. They even called me when they were 15 minutes out from the appointment so I could leave work without missing a whole morning. Thanks!

I pay them yearly for two visits for them to service our air conditioner. They are honest and they don't try to sell me something that I don't need. They explain to me what needs to be done to the system. They show up when they are supposed to and they actually call me and remind me when it is time for my service. Their people know what they are doing and they don't try to sell me stuff that I don't need.

I got them from your list. I liked their sales presentation. I liked everything about the company. I asked some friends of mine about them, because they had used them. They highly recommanded the company and that is why I decided to use them. I thought they were reasonable in price. They came in and did the job. They made a few mistakes but they came back and fixed those. They did my one-year maintenance last month. They took care of everything. I did not have any problem with them. I would use them again. I would recommand them. I decided to get energy efficient. Therefore, I got a completely new system. Everything is fine. There was an issue, when the weather got cold because they had not done something correctly, so the heat was not coming out. However, as soon as I called them, they sent somebody out and they fixed it right away. It is working ever since.
Description of Work: They installed a completely new air conditioning for me.That was a year ago. I do not remember the price.

We got several companies to give us estimates, and the gentleman from Green's was reasonably punctual for his appointment. He did more actual climbing around and looking at things in the attic than any of the other companies' estimators did. He also took careful measurements of the room sizes and window sizes in order to calculate how best to configure the duct and grill sizes locations for even distribution of air. He was slower to get back to us with an estimate than others (slower than he said he'd be), and the price was not the lowest, but Green's had the best Angie's List rating of the ones who gave us an estimate, so we chose to go with them. We did have troubles on several occasions when we would ask a question, etc, and he would promise to get back to us with an answer. We usually had to call him back in a couple of days to remind him that we were waiting. I know that things were very hectic at that time for most HVAC contractors due to folks trying to finish up in time to get gov't rebates on HVAC units, but it was disconcerting to feel that we were being forgotten. However, since our work was not something which would involve a gov't rebate, we agreed to wait for our work to be done after the New Year and were given a discount for waiting. When the work finally got started (not the first week of January as we'd been led to believe) the guys managed to track oil from one spot on the garage floor all over the garage and into the house. My son was home and they told him they'd use a drop cloth to cover things while cutting holes in the ceilings, but he never saw them with a drop cloth, and my son wound up covering my computer with some old towels--AFTER it had been liberally sprinkled with drywall dust and insulation. In climbing into the attic, they broke the drywall attic access cover in the master bedroom, and did not mention to my son that they had done so. (The following day, they replaced it with a white-painted plywood cover--fine, but it would have been nice to know they were going to do that.) I got home before my wife and cleaned dust and insulation off of the computer desk, kitchen table, etc, and scrubbed up the oily footprints from the wood floors and the garage--all of which I wish the workers had done before they left. Second day, my wife stayed home from work to keep an eye on things. The salesman/estimator had told us that the workers would ask her where she would like the return grills placed in the ceiling. They didn't ask, but just started cutting. When she tried to tell them where she wanted the one in the living room, one of the guys told her that if they put it where she said, the air would flow backward, creating high pressure in the master bedroom. When she told him that was ridiculous, one of the other guys said, "She's right. She knows what she's talking about. Go ahead and put it where she wants it." The three bedrooms on the other end of the house were all to be connected to a single return grill in the hall, but the workers connected only two of them and told my wife that the third (and largest) bedroom couldn't be done, and we'd have to leave the bedroom door open (my father-in-law's room), or saw off the bottom of the door to let some air out. That was very disconcerting, as ALL of the companies (including Green's) had recommended against sawing off the bottom of doors as an efficient method of air return. The men insisted that there was no way to get above that room through the attic, and that there was no choice. That weekend, I climbed into the attic and down to that room, satisfied myself that I could get in above the ceiling, and went down and called the salesman/estimator, leaving him a message. It turned out that he had been at the house both days that they guys were working, and they had told him that it couldn't be done. He said he had taken their word for it--(although he had been up there and had assured me in advance that it would be fine). He hadn't told my wife while he was here, nor had he called to tell me about the "impossibility", even though it was clearly stated in the contract that all of the bedrooms would receive passive air return ducts. When I told him that I could fit into the space and that my wife said I was bigger than any of his three workers, he agreed to come back out and look again for himself. He came back and confirmed that it shouldn't have been a problem to get into the attic space and that even if they couldn't get above the ceiling there, they could have put a grill through the bedroom wall above the hall ceiling, connected to the same grill in the hall where the other two rooms connected. He agreed to have the men come back and install the new return grill and connect it with the others, and to have them stop up some air leaks in the main air return plenum (which the men were supposed to have fixed but had apparently forgotten). They came back later in the week and put the new grill in the "impossible" room's ceiling, and rebuilt the hall return box to fit the third flexible duct. They did not remember to patch the leaks in the plenum. I went ahead and called the salesman/estimator and told him to come get the payment check, and to please bring me a little bit of duct mastic and I'd patch the plenum myself. He came and brought the mastic, apologized for the guys missing that, then he patched the leaks and I wrote him a check. We did get the discount he'd promised us for waiting until after the first of the year, and another discount for paying by check as opposed to credit. The invoice was not as "neat" as he'd intended, so he promised to make us another, more legible copy and either send it to us or drop it by sometime when he was in the area. It's been over a month ago and we haven't seen that yet, but I'm not really missing it. Overall, nothing happened that made me angry. Nothing happened that made me ecstatic. The job, once it was completed, seems to have been done well, and it has achieved the desired effect of distributing hot or cold air more evenly throughout the house. The finished product is fine and I'm pleased we had it done. Just a little disappointed with the amount of hassle involved to get it that way, given Green's high marks on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Green's removed old, damaged ductwork from our attic and replaced it with new, resized flexible ducts to make the heating/cooling more efficient and more evenly distributed throughout the house. They also installed return ducts from the bedrooms to the common areas so that the bedroom doors would not need to be left open all the time for proper circulation, and moved the thermostat from an exterior wall to an interior one.

By now we have had a few cold days in which to check out the heating portion of the system. Everything seems to be functioning well. And, I really like the thermostat operation and controls. The system is fast and powerful?better still, our electric power bill is lower; at least for the A/C part. It?s too soon to tell about the heating part. Thanks Russell, Gary & Steve, Jim, and ?Angie?s List? for a job well done!
Description of Work: We returned from our summer vacation only to find that our A/C was out! The compressor was blown and the air handler was mechanically malfunctioning. Both needed to be replaced. Breakers were tripped. We needed action in a hurry. We quickly signed up as a member of “Angie’s List” and looked for a contractor. That was when we discovered “Greens Energy Service” and Russell. Russell gave our residence a complete going over to make sure our heat pump was adequately sized. Also, he made us aware of a Federal rebate on certain heat pumps. We did our homework, but he gave us three additional choices to consider. We happened to pick one of those choices. Installation was to begin on 10/06/10. Russell diligently kept in touch with us throughout the whole process to make sure that things were progressing. Thanks Russell. Gary & Steve promptly arrived to install our new system. It took them all day, but they got it done on time on a hot day. Job well done. On 10/11/10 Jim arrives to make sure everything was functioning OK and to make a few tests of the system. Everything looked good, except that in checking the refrigerant he had to add some more to top it off. We also went over our new thermostat’s operation and reviewed some items in our new heat pump manuals. Thanks Jim.

AC went out the night of the 25th. Max with greens was out by 10am the next day. Max walked me through everything he found and needed to do based on his findings. This gave me a high comfort level. With the damaged he repaired I was afraid he would advise to replace the entire condenser unit, which I would have gone along with. I switched to this company based on their Angies List review. They now do all of my AC scheduled service and I have been completely satitfied with everything they have done.

It went very well. We initially purchased the new heat pump to be proactive as we anticipated our existing unit would fail soon. Sure enough, on Easter, the existing unit failed. We called the Greens answering service late Sunday, and they returned the call Monday morning at 6:30 am to let us know they would be at the house by 8:30 to install the new unit. That is top notch service in my book. The installation went well, they followed up, and we are very pleased with the new system.

They did a really good job. They checked it all out very thoroughly once they put it in, the installation manager came out after the installation and he checked it out. Then we had the county inspector come out. When the installation manager was out he said the numbers aren't quite right, he said "the flow isn't what we would like so I am going to tell your sales person and have him get in touch with you" and he did. The sales person came back and took all these measurements and everything. The installation manager came with him and they found the problem. It wasn't any extra expense. There had been some air filters installed on the intakes of the house and they had never been replaced. They were like solid dirt and as soon as they took them out, the air flow was what they wanted. I feel like they went above than what I would have expected; everything was working and I didn't know there was a problem so they could have just left it that way. Their price was pretty much in the range of everybody. They always returned our calls promptly and they were here when they said they would be. I would use them again, if needed.

This experience went very well, as they always do with Greens. During my maintenance call, it was noticed that my gas heat was not firing, but seemed to work ok after the contacts were cleaned. Later that week when it got cold, I began using the heat again and the same problem reappeared. A second visit determined that it might be the ignition system, which did look corroded. It was ordered and soon replaced. A few days after using the heat...again no gas firing. A third visit revealed that the electronic component of the gas valve assembly was bad on the inside (the wire had to be jiggled in order for ignition to take place). The valve was ordered (the electric portion containing the coil did not come separately, although they tried to order just that to save on the cost). A fourth visit saw it's replacement and success (I'm confident the new valve is the final fix). I cannot say enough good things about Greens. They are extremely professional! My HVAC system is almost 15 years old and unpredictable, but Greens takes very good care of it. It is a real pleasure dealing with this company...Walt, Rusty, Ernie, and especially George - thanks again! The office staff is terrific as well. I highly recommend Greens, SC

Brent came to my condo for an estimate and was very professional and knowledgeable. He came back to my condo a few more times to answer additional questions I had. Don and Matt did the installation work over two days and were very punctual both days. It was a difficult job since they were moving two outdoor air compressors to new locations and installing indoor ductwork for the first time (previously air blew into a large area above the ceiling and came out of vents in the ceiling). They did incredibly thorough and quality work. Jim came to my condo a couple of weeks later to inspect the job and to be sure everything was completed satisfactorily. Overall, it was an incredibly professional experience and I would recommend Greens Energy Services, Inc. to anyone.

The overall experience was good. The two technicians who did a complete installation of unit in tightly spaced hot attic, and outdoor unit did a great job and were courteous.
Description of Work: Replaced HVAC unit as well as relocate new unit on other side of house. The Greens already has a great reputation as noted on this board and all I can do is add to the praise. They are true professionals and not only do the job, but they do it right. Permits and all. The technicians are professional, some better than others as in any field. The only criticism I have would be that the sales staff be more in touch with the field techs. I got promised some things that would be done on a certain time line and it just didn't happen, but seeing the scope of work done by the techs, I don't blame them. Very minor stuff like that can irritate a customer without AC in the middle of summer, but you just deal with it. It was a full two day job, versus the sales guy, I won't name him even though I know it, told me "you won't be left a day without AC once they get started..." Two days later I had a great HVAC unit installed. I would say The Greens are on the top end of the cost scale in this market but they do a great job and the most important thing for an efficient HVAC unit is correct installation, they make sure things are done right. And I have had two problems with the unit and they came right out and fixed it under warranty.

The techs both seemed knowledgable but I am surprised the first tech, who puposely checked the pressure for a leak, did not see one. I give credit for the sheetrock dust in the system to our Angie's list selected contractor who remodeled the house during last summer who obviously was cooling the house as his subs worked without benefit of a filter in the system.
Description of Work: AC unit was freezing up and not cooling. Tech came on Sunday suggested we have him return on Monday for lower rate schedule. He came back Monday morning and found sheetrock dust cloggged exchange coil and fan as well as grass clogged compressor coil. Spent the day dissasembling cleaning and reassembling system. He checked coolant levels, tested it and said it was okay ($550). It ran fine, but later at night I noticed the unit freezing up again and temperature rising. I called their hotline at 11:30 PM. They gave the option of having a tech come out immediately or in the morning. I elected following moring. A different tech came out, examined everything and found a coolant leak in the compressor coil. Possible $1,400 replacement cost. He pinpointed it in a repairable place, went the shop and got a patch kit, dissasembled the compressor unit and made the repair, checked coolant pressure and started it up. (additional $400) It has run fine ever since.

The night before my husband and I were planning to go out of town our main air conditioner stopped working. Our daughter was going to be in the house while we were gone, so it wasnt an option to wait until we returned to fix it. I went to Angie's list and found Green Services (they had a good rating) and called them around 9:30AM - by 11:30 AM, they had come to our home and had fixed the problem and had the AC working again. We were very grateful as we had a ten hour drive ahead of us but didnt want to leave Orlando before the AC was back on. The serviceman - whose name I am so sorry not to remember - was very pleasant and very efficient. We

I purchased the anual agreement as I was told the 10% discount could be used on the expensive repair. The day the service was to be started they showed up 3 hours late. They then stated the discount could not be used. Their sales person Gary basically called me liar that his tech's would never tell a customer this. After pushing they agreed to the 10%. The unit started leaking within one week. Another repairman came out and fixed the issue. I then had him check on the duct work and he stated this was not installed correctly and was not being filtered. Gary was called and I spoke to him on July 2. He was to get back to me on how they would correct this by Monday July 6. As of July 21 no return call. A call has been made to the owner and owners son on July 21.
Description of Work: They were to remove the A/C unit which had not been installed correctly and was leaking. They were to connect the air intake vents to the main unit which had also not be installed correctly by the builder.

Green's did a very nice job overall, and it was a pleasure to work with them. We obtained estimates from several companies and the estimate that Green's provided was the most thorough and professional. It also included some repairs to our existing ductwork. We were going for high end A/C system, and one that qualified for the tax credit. Their estimate was not the least expensive, but it was close. Their professionalism and customer service sold us, however. We had two minor issues with the installation. First, at one point, the installer incorrectly connected some of the wiring, which caused the system to work improperly. However, they came out immediately and corrected it. One of the installers also accidentally put his foot through our garage ceiling when they were hooking up the air handler to our existing ductwork. They took care of the problem quickly and the independent repair person that Green's hired did a really nice job fixing the hole. About a week after the installation, their installation manager came out, checked everything, and made sure we knew how to use it and the digital thermostat.
Description of Work: We had our old A/C system replaced with a new Lennox XP-19 system, including their top of the line air purification system.

They did a fantastic job. Brent was very detailed in everything that he did that was required in order to do the replacement. He explained everything to us in a way that we understood and discussed, in detail, all the pros and cons that came with the variety of options. He didn't try to rush us or sway us in any direction. Our consultation last at least 2 hours. He was very professional. For the AC work, Don and Matt came out. They were professional, explained each of the steps as they did them, were organized and clean. It was very obvious that they knew what they were doing. Don and Matt were great guys.
Description of Work: Our AC unit was on it's last leg when we called Greens. They came out, did an estimate, provided us with several options to choose from (pros/cons of each), did an assessment of our air ducts and came up with a plan. Because they were scheduled somewhere else for that day, they scheduled for this week; Tuesday and Wednesday. In the meantime, they refilled the freon and it got us through until the AC work began. Between 6/23 - 6/24, they replaced our AC system, refitted some pipping, fixed some air ducts, and added another vent. Our old AC system was rather old, so they brought everything up to today's standards. I have never seen people work so fast and so hard. They had to go up into our roof attic do quite a bit of the repairs .... it was 90 degrees outside without taking into account what the temps must have been like up in the attic.
