GATOR TREE EXPERTS

I was not impressed at all by this company. I would never have hired them in the first place, but it was my neighbor's tree (over my property) so I had no control. I felt the price was way too high for the work promised, and then the actual work done was less than promised. They had scheduled the work for a Saturday morning when we could both be there to oversee, but came the afternoon of the day before and started cutting. They apparently had called my neighbor first, but although he had my number, did not alert me. The huge old oak tree now looks pretty awful and unbalanced, not at all what Joe had said he was going to do. But you can't put branches back that are already cut off. Rather than have him do even more trimming, we decided to leave it, worried they would screw it up even further. Kinda awful overall, and to add insult to injury, too expensive.

They haven't yet picked up a ladder and a large dolly that is in the side yard behind a fence, perhaps because of the proximity to the holidays. In spite of the snafus with the blocked driveway, the leftover ladder/dolly, and the unexpected request for separate checks, I'd use Gator again. They did everything we agreed to, and it looks like what I expected.

They came out on time and gave a reasonable price and did the work all in that same day. I would recommend them to anybody! Just a great company, they did everything I wanted to do.

Several weeks ago, as I was walking my dogs, I noticed some tree trimmers working on some large trees in a new development in my neighborhood. I paid close attention because I knew that I would be needing tree trimming services shortly. The workers seem to do a good job and finished up quickly. Later I noticed the name of the company on a sign that had been left on the property. I called the company on a Thursday and was told that Joe McLaughin would be out in the morning to give me an estimate. I needed quite a bit done, as the trees on the property had not been trimmed or cared for in many years. It was going to be a pretty extensive job. Joe arrived as scheduled and proceeded to walk the property and count up trees and explain what he thought needed to be done. Turns out that there were 45 palm trees and 5 huge oak trees that needed attention. I also had a power line that ran down the driveway and trees and bushes needed to be trimmed away from the lines. Joe took notes and did some figures on his notepad and gave me an estimate right on the spot. A few years back, I'd had some other tree work done at another property and with another company so had an idea as to what a reasonable estimate would be. Joe's estimate was reasonable and he could start on the work on the following Monday, so I agreed to go ahead. On Monday, Joe showed up with his foreman and 4 or 5 other men. He instructed them as to what needed to be done and then left. The crew worked all day. Came back on Tuesday but unfortunately got rained out half way through the day. On Wednesday morning, 5 men returned to finish up the job. All of the crew were exceptionally nice and polite and did very good work. They made a point to ask me if there was anything else that needed to be done and was everything to my satisfaction. I found the whole experience to be very good and have no complaints. Would hire them again in the future.

It took multiple calls to get them back out. I called again since he had done a nice job on the stumps. I decided to have the 2 large bushes, about 30 feet high, ground out and completely gone to remove them from my lanai. I negotiated a price over the phone and a man came out. The man who came out was very nice. He brought the tree stump grinder and he told me the stump was too large, which I was afraid of to begin with. I renegotiated the price over the phone with Jim since he never came out. He always sent other employees. I have never met Jim. The guys did get the stump removed, but they left me a mess. There was a piece of the stump up against my lanai that they refused to take out further. They, again, didn't bring all the proper equipment. When they were pulling out the large roots and tree limbs is when they dislodged my irrigation pipe. They knew the sprinkler system was in the area. I noticed this problem about a month later when I went out to look at the flowers and realized it was a swamp. I called Jim and was very angry. He said since this was the first time he had heard of the problem he should not be responsible for it. He said he would try to help me out and contact a plumber. He said he would call me right back. I am still waiting, to this day, for him to call back. I left him one message since asking him to call to explain what had happened. It ended up costing me $80.00 to fix what his guys broke. It was minimal, but it still cost me money for his mistakes. I would recommend everyone to stay away. He is not currently registered as a BBB accredited provider which he advertises. As far as I am concerned he is not a reputable business man. He never once provided me with an invoice. I just have a check receipt that says he deposited my check. I am angry with myself that I hired him a second time.

The came out promptly and called when they were finished. We were out of town for the job, so when we returned we looked over the trees. We felt that a little more should have been taken off when we looked at it at different angles. We called Joe the next day and he came right out. He looked them over, called to thank us for letting him address the issue, and had someone out to our house that week to make sure we were happy. We will definitely use Joe and Gator Tree Experts again.

terrible. his workers used spikes to climb my trees - they are now infected and will be dead in the next 5 years.

They arrived without a ladder, but a saw. I was so appalled that they didn’t shape the trees correctly because they were not able to reach the top. I explained the situation to Joe the owner and Joe stated that he wanted to make it right. Which he never did. I feel that I could have done the same work myself. They also left a bare spot on my oak tree which is going to take years to grow back properly if ever. The whole experience was very unprofessional.

They were wonderful, they were respectful of me and my yard. They also found other issues in my yard that I was not aware of. He was a great service. I would recommend them to anyone.

The sales rep was great. Service was scheduled within 1 weeks time. I left for 40 minutes and when I came back all the work was done! There were some small loose branches, but there had been a thunderstorm right after the work was done and they may have been down because of that.

He started great and provided an estimate. I used him because he was able to start the next day. He started the work and was to finish the following Monday. However, he was having problems with his equipment and didn't make it out Monday. He never called or showed up to finish the work. I then contacted him that evening and he said he would be out the following day, stating that he was still having issues with his crane. The limbs that were taken down on Saturday were cluttering up my back yard, blocking my shed, and killing my grass. Finally on Thursday they cleaned the yard and promised to come out on Friday to finish the tree. They removed the tree Friday and cleaned up. I understand certain things can happen, but they delayed the cleaning, and never had the courtesy of calling to let me know what was going on. This was a large job, and he did a great job in the end but the communication was an issue.

They arrived about on time. The crew was pulled to another job so it took about three times as long as they told me. They did a pretty good job, about 95% of what they promised and did a good clean up. I would use them again but would want Joe here for the job, not just a supervisor.

I would highly recommend Gator Tree Experts. The crew that came over was punctual, skillful and professional. They did an amazing job on our tree. Also, the clean up was excellent. I have no problem in hiring them again.

Polite, prompt and fairly priced. They were below other estimates.

I FIND THEM TO BE VERY HONEST AND VERY GOOD AT CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES. OF ALL THE COMPANIES, THEY CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES THE BEST. IF THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO CLEAN A TREE THEY DO. THEY FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATION.
