I have a $3000 Kitchen Aide gas grill that is still under warranty. When the repairmain came out he said a module needs to be replaced. When it came in he replaced it but said another module needed to be replaced. He said it will be ordered. When I checked with Fields after three calls and no calls back they said the unit was not repairable. Poorest service I've seen.
Description of Work: He replaced a module on my Kitchen Aide Gas Grill. They have been trying to repair this for months.

Service technician could not explain what was causing the problem. He called tech support. They had no explanation either. The tech. told us we were not loading the machine correctly. We are 65+ years old...this is not our 1st washing machine...we know how to load a machine. The tech loaded the machine and reproduced the shaking and banging. He suggested that we call Lowes where we bought the machine and get a replacement. We then got a bill from Fields Appl. Svc. for $89.00 because Electrolux rejected our warranty claim. They claimed that the machine was not installed correctly. Fields Appliance was very nasty when we contacted them. They threatened to turn the bill over to a collection agency if we did not pay. We will never use this company again, and, neither will Lowes (they sent this company out to us).
Description of Work: Came to correct washing machine going off-balance (under warranty) banging noise and shaking.

The technician who came out was very professional, polite, and came out on time. He ended up ordering a part that I felt wasn’t needed and it didn’t end up solving the problem. He ordered another part which we had to wait for again. That didn’t solve the problem either. I had to pay for these parts that don’t work and I don’t know if I will be refunded. So we ended up borrowing a part from my outdoor Jenn-Air unit that I don’t use as often as a temporary solution. The technician stayed late to get the indoor unit working which I appreciated. The company still needs to come out to fix the outdoor unit. Three visits later and the job still isn’t complete and I’m not sure what the bill is going to be. I realize Jenn-Air is a product that many companies aren’t familiar with, but I felt they should have done their homework.
Description of Work: They were repairing my indoor Jenn-Air. I have an inside Jenn-Air grill and we were having problems with it cycling on and off without actually heating up.

Called Samsung for an issue with my Dryer. Took 2 days for Field's to contact me. Took 6 days for Field's to come to my house for the first service. Technician inspected the dryer to find the fuse was blown. Did not have a fuse on his truck and said it would have to be ordered. Took 5 days to return to replace the fuse. Technician's comment was "must have had a electrical surge from lightning" for the reason why the fuse failed. Dryer operated for 3 hours before my wife burned her hand on the top of the dryer, fuse blew out again. I called Samsung to report the dryer was out of order again. Samsung placed a service call with Field's again. Took another two days to contact me. Set up an appointment for 5 days later. Field's called with an appointment confirmation of Tuesday between 2pm and 5pm the day before service. Never received another phone call from anyone, technician never called as was supposed to 1/2 hour before coming to the house. received a phone call from the technician at 6:30pm saying he at the house for the service call. I explained that I had to leave for work at 5:30pm. Technician sated that the office would call. I called Samsung to report the no call no show appointment, Samsungw ould contact Field's to set up another appointment. Field's called the next day to tell me the only availability to come back would be 7 days later, mind you I have had no dryer for 18 days at this time. I called Samsung again to complain about Field's Appliance Service, Samsung agreed to send another company out to repair my dryer.

Overall, it was not a good experience and would never attempt to use their services again.
Description of Work: If you want to deal with a company with a bad attitude, this is the company for you! This past Saturday afternoon, we noticed that the upright freezer in our laundry room was not working properly. We tried to call Fields Appliance Service but their office was closed and there was no way to leave a message and they did not provide an emergency number. Their ad in the phone book said that an appointment could be made online. Therefore, we went online and made an appointment for the following Monday and received an email confirming the appointment. When we did not hear from them on Monday morning, we called them and were told by the person answering the phone that all of their technicians were busy and there was no way that they could possibly accommodate us. When we explained that we had received a confirmation by email and that we were at risk of losing everything in our freezer (we had just stocked it), we were told that someone would be here between 3:00PM and 5:00PM. This person proceeded to ask for the Make, Model and Serial Number of our freezer. When we told her that we had provided all of this information while completing the online service application, she very rudely replied that her copy of the email did not contain this information. A technician by the name of Anthony did arrive in the afternoon and his attitude was even worse than that of the person answering the phone. He wanted $89.00 to look at the freezer and determine the problem. We gave him the $89.00 and he checked the freezer and then proceeded to go and sit in his truck "to see if something or other" he had done would result in a temporary fix. He sat in his truck for approximately 30 minutes and then told us that he had determined we would need to order a part for our freezer. He quoted the price of $85.73 for the price of the part and the price of $164.00 to install the part. After dealing with the rude receptionist, which is your first impression of any company, and then the rude technician, we decided not to deal with this company any longer. Rather than tell the technician that we did not want to use his services, we very politely told him that perhaps we would call back on Wednesday, as we were going to be busy on Tuesday of this week. To this the technician very rudely replied, "Well, even if you DO call back on Wednesday, I won't be able to come back until NEXT week!" We are looking for another company to service our freezer.

We have had to persue resolution with our credit card company to retrieve some of our loses.
Description of Work: Fields appliance is fraudulant and deceptive. They have tried to repair the iced over freezer on our 48" Kitchen Aide 4 times in the past year for a whopping $1,300. They last charged me $433 for a defective inverter board. When they came back out and saw it was defective, rather than replacing it, they gave us ANOTHER $1,200 estimate for a complete system rebuild (2men x 6hrs at their standard $100/Hr rate). We got Orlando Ground (407-234-8327 at $45/hr) to repair it (and that same inverter board was only $117), who guaranteed that if they didn't fix the problem, we wouldn't pay a dime. When we asked for a refund from Fields Appliance for the defective part and labor, they refused, insisting they get another crack at repairing our fridge. I've lost all confidence in this company.

They were great. I had purchased an A.C, it was under warranty and it was not working. Apparently the little push button on the control box was not working at all. Fields Appliance Service was referred to us by the provider from whom we had bought the AC. Under the warranty that this provider gave us Fields Appliance Service does all the repair and replacements. They did a splendid job. They diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the part; four days later the part arrived, they came back and fixed it. I would recommend them highly. We will use them in the future.

I called Field Appliance based on a recommendation from the company I purchased the washer from years ago. The receptionist informed me that it would cost $89 for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. This would include the first 30 minutes of labor. Anything beyond that would be quoted to me by the technician. I knew the problem was a clog in the drain so if he was able to clear it quickly, this would only cost me the $89. The technician was dispatched to come out on a Saturday (I believe I called on Tuesday earlier that week to schedule it). They told me they would give me a window of time the night before via email. I received the email as promised indicating the time-frame would be from 11-2. I waited and waited. When 2:30 came and went, I tried to call the office for an update and the voicemail indicated they were closed and there was no way to reach my technician or anyone for that matter. So, I waited patiently until he finally arrived after 4pm wasting my entire Saturday. I understand schedules shift but a courteous phone call should be the minimum when you are over 2 hours late for an appointment.I explained the problem to the technician who proceeded to go straight to the problem by removing two screws from my washer and turning the cap on the drain. I even helped him catch the excess water that needed to drain out. He pulled out a sock clogged in the drain and closed up the washer. This job took a total of 12 minutes. It was the most simple task (only if I had known where to access the drain, I would have done it myself). The technician then told me I owed him $164! When questioned why ... he stated $89 was just to "diagnose the problem". So I said, once you diagnosed the sock in the drain, if I would have said, "Thank you, have a nice day. I can put the two screws back in myself, it would have saved me $75???" So ridiculous! What happened to the first 30 minutes being included? He indicated if I had a problem, I needed to pay the bill and take it up with the office on Monday since they are closed. Nice!!! The owner called me on Monday and all he would offer me was $15 off my next service! What a horrible way to treat your customers. They lied to me and then did nothing to make it right. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Machine would click off when start button pushed. It took almost a week before I could get an appointment. The repair man said he had to order a control panel that they did not have in stock. It was coming from the warehouse which is two hours away, but it took a week to arrive. Even considering it was during the Christmas holidays, the time was unacceptable. The repair man returned with the new part, but the machine still didn't work. He had misdiagnosed the problem and said he had to order another part. Turns out he had to order three harnesses from two different places. We requested that they overnight the part since we (a family of five) had now been without a washing machine for almost two weeks and they were responsible for misdiagnosing the problem the first time, but that didn't happen. It was yet another week before a different repair man came. He was able to fix the machine. It is unacceptable that it took three weeks to repair my washing machine.

I told them that they already had authorization for the parts. A week later the parts arrived. An appt. was scheduled for repair. A repairman didn't arrive that day, instead installers came and took the microwave to the shop. Three days later they called and said they were ready to deliver it, but I was at work. I phoned the following day to schedule delivery and was told that they would call me back. Didn't happen, I called the following week and did get a call back and the microwave was delivered 2 days later. It is fully functional and the delivery guys were very nice. I was surprised at how poorly this went, given all the positive feed back Fields has received on Angie's List.
Description of Work: I had a Roper (Whirlpool) microwave under warranty for repair. They did not have a repair person, so they came to pick it up and repair it in their shop. The first visit went well, the repair man told me that I could get this covered under warranty. Long story short, after many calls and minutes on hold with Roper, they decided to cover the cost of the repair and parts under warranty. And would authorize the parts. I notified Fields. I was told that Fields had called Roper for an authorization number and were waiting a call back. I called a week later. Same story. I then called Roper, and the representative stated that Roper was waiting for Fields to call for the auth number. I had Roper fax Fields the auth number. I called Fields that day and told them to look for the fax. I called 2 days later and they said they were waiting for parts. The next call I made a week later, the Fields rep. said they didn't know if Roper was going to authorize the parts, or if they were going to replace i

After receiving the recall kit from Maytag,I called Fields and was scheduled for the next day. The serviceman, Jose, called that morning to confirm the time and the job to do. He came on time, was friendly, efficient, and even offered to sweep the kitchen floor of a little debris from the repair! The job took less time then he estimated. Since it was Maytag's recall, there was no cost.

Finally around 3 Jim came. After looking at our range he said he won't touch it without a model and serial number. We scrambled and found the user manual which did have a model number but of no use. He needed the serial number. We requested that he look around for it but he did not do anything. Later we saw that it was etched to a plate that was screwed right below the cooking surface. How come Fields Appliances 'professionals' don't know where to find a serial number? What does a serial number have to do with fixing the range? Anyway, he charged us $69 for his visit and on top that $16 for 'labor charge'. Total $85 down the toilet. It was a brazen, day-light robbery. Please don't waste your money on them.
Description of Work: What work? Jim came and sat at the kitchen table, said the he will not touch the appliance without a model and serial number! It was a rip off! We had an old electric range. It had been working fine until a week ago when all the burners stopped working. The oven was still ok. After looking at Angies List, called Fields Appliances on a Friday. They promised to come the following Wednesday between '1 & 5'. On Wednesday when we asked for a specific time they rescheduled the appointment for the following Monday again between '1 & 5'. They were rude and argumentative on the phone.

I was able to schedule an appointment within 5 days of my call. The technician was prompt and thorough, and helped me decide whether it was worth it to have the dryer repaired. If I had gone forward with the repair, he told me it would be about two weeks (to order and get the parts in and to schedule the next service). I thought that was a little long, but overall a fairly reasonable time frame.
Description of Work: My dryer was not heating. The technician determined the cause to be a burned out thermostat. The estimated cost to repair was about $200, but since the dryer is over 10 yrs old, I decided not to have the repair done. I paid $100 for the service call and the diagnosis/estimate.
