They were prompt, professional, and the installation was superior! The gentlemen in charge of the crew went above and beyond. He hauled away my old carpet, which is a service they do not even provide. He was professional and great to work with! They come out today and install tomorrow.

The sales man was not pushy and he let me make my own choices. They lived up to their promise and showed up the next day for the installation. They were on time. The crew was very efficient and very friendly. I would certainly use them for any floor work to be done in future.

Initially, everything went well. The salesman was prompt, polite & matched a quote I had from another company (Empire's initial quote was far more). Contrary to other reviews, I wasn't pressured for next day installation - perhaps because it was obvious we were in the middle of a remodel though I was forced to set an installation date & provide a 25% deposit even though it would be weeks before the work was done. 2 installers arrived as scheduled & on time. End good experience. When they came in, I cautioned them about my freshly painted walls/baseboards (I was advised to paint before rather than after by the salesman - & indeed by other carpet people). The installers immediate response was "Well, you'll need to repaint". I was appalled! They indicated since they were removing the old tack strips they would be pushing a crow bar type device into my new & freshly painted baseboards & that there'd be definite damage. They insisted if I didn't accept that - carte blanche - they wouldn't do the job as a complaint might result in their not being paid as subs! Since this was the last element of a 4 month remodel I was loathe to put it off. I acquiesed reluctantly (I accepted some neglible marks might occur - it was more the cavalier "just pay to have it painted all over again" attitude that I despised) & told them to proceed. Now - before they lifted a finger (tear out was done for them except the haul away; though I'd paided for that too) they demanded the 75% balance. I countered that payment would be made after services were rendered. This began a 45 min. battle including a call to the "field supervisor" as no one was in the office on Sat. The field officer (legit? installer called) concurred Empire's policy was to obtain funds prior to any work. He apologized for their attitude but supported the demand for payment in advance. If I'd known I was dealing with the "fast food" of carpet companies I would have never signed a contract. I'd already committed $400 - that I knew would be difficult, if not impossible - to recoup - so I paid or I'd have ordered them out of my home on the spot. (Believe me, I considered it!!) They installed the carpet at breakneck speed - certainly not making any effort to be careful of the baseboards or the walls - & it did require touch-ups where they scraped paint off bringing huge rolls of carpet around on the corners. In spite of my telling them to inform me when they got to a particular closet so I could remove the contents due to the fragile nature - they did it. Carpeting in the closet was installed incorrectly based on the pattern (more lack of attention to detail - maybe because the man who spoke English was on his phone several times talking to what was obviously his girlfriend?). Another closet was ignored. I later paid to have my handyman install it from remnants left & lived with the pattern error. Bottom line - if Empire is the only carpet installer in town - Get tile!

The installers showed up on time and did a good job. I was not crazy where they decided to put the seam in but I was told they are the experts by the sales person. I would have put the seam under the couch where it was before. The new carpet and clean up was great and it did not take long. The upstairs carpet needed to be restretched. I was quoted $350 for this repair. It took the installers about 35 minutes to restretch the upstairs carpet. I think $350 for 35 minutes of work is over priced. The carpet is wearing well and looks great.

Beware they install next day (are pretty strict about that). They are kind of pushy because they want to close the deal and rolled installation and material costs into one price. They were a little shady about how much it would cost and I was able to talk them down in price from an original $1900 quote. If you're happy with their limited selection and need it fast (aka next day) then this company is for you. They don't offer the selection of a big box or specialty store, but they showed up on time for both estimate and installation, and delivered what I expected next day. A month later the product is holding up well.

The salesman came one day and the carpeting was installed the next. They were more expensive than other places I had looked, but I guess you have to pay for the convenience of in-home shopping & having the work done the next day. I actually had to do some negotiating about the price. Reminded me of buying a car. The installers were very efficient and friendly and readily moved the furniture that I could not lift.

I thought that they did a great job. The were extremely professional. Their response time was great. They showed up when they said they would, and they they had the job done it 6 hours.

They did a good job, They were on time and cleaned up well afterwards. I would use them again.

Rep was here in time promised. Initial call to 800 number said to give appt 2 hrs and it took all that time. Was great to see carpet samples up next to wall in room. Rep was very attentive, personable and knew products well. Just like the say in the ad the installers came the next day. I had the appt at 9am on a Thurs and by 10:30 a carpet was installed! Whatever Empire does in training, keep doing it - all your people were the best I dealt with on flooring.

This company performed an outstanding job. From their follow up to confirm estimate appointment to the representative's detailed information regarding the product, installation and manner in which the entire operation was to proceed and the actual installation all was very professional. Although the installation was somewhat more complicated and problematic than our representative advised, all was carried out wonderfully and the end result is a fantastic kitchen/foyer and bathroom ceramic tile installation and carpeted stairwell. My only complaint is that the rep advised they have their own installation crews and don't use contract labor and the two separate crews who arrived - one for tile and one for carpet - were contract labor. The installers were wonderful and very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves - tile people even had to make another trip out due to short count by the estimator for tiles and were very apologetic about not completing on time.

Wow! Terrific. We had a carpet emergency after our washing machine overflowed and I had to slash and remove our living room carpet. A salesman showed up the same day I called, and the carpet was installed the next day. The salesperson was extremely professional and very helpful. He gave me one estimate, and when I gave him a written estimate from a supply store for hundreds less, he was able to make a call and get the price reduced by about 10%. Still much more than the supply store, but they were quoting 2-6 weeks. I had exposed carpet tacks and a toddler running around; not an option! The installers spent a lot of time installing the carpet very carefully. It was well stretched and the seam is invisible. They also cleaned up very thoroughly. Two months later, in our highest traffic room, it still looks and feels terrific! If you need quality carpet in a big fast hurry, Empire Carpets is a great choice!

The sales representative called within 24 hours of my initial phone call. We had shopped around and asked for Shaw carpet and he brought several sample boards in varying qualities. We chose our carpet and could have had next day installation, but asked for a Saturday installation instead. The two installers were extremely polite and careful with our newly painted baseboards. The large area required several seams which I cannot find. They took every bit of mess with them - all the old carpet and padding and scraps. They moved several large and heavy pieces of furniture: 3 piece china cabinet, 2 piece book case, heavy mirrored dining room table, two curio cabinets. Then they put everything back where I asked them. They completed the job in five hours. A very pleasant experience. I had figured a $3,000 cap on the job and was pleased it was less.

I called the 800 number in the morning and I had an appointment that afternoon for a representative to come to my house. She arrived promptly and helped me to select the carpet that would work the best for me. There was no pressure to buy a particular grade or brand of carpet. She seemed genuinely interested in selling me the carpet that would best fit my needs and my budget. The carpet was installed the next morning and it looks terrific! They moved the heavy furniture and took the old carpet away. When they finished they vacuumed the new carpet for me.

The salesman came to our house exactly on time and was very friendly. He made suggestions as to carpet style. It didn't work for our schedule, but they would have been able to install it the next day. The installer did a professional job even though he worked by himself.

They never showed up for their initial consultation and didn't call. When I called the 1-800 number they claimed they could not reach the representative and then they claimed they were given the wrong phone number. When I orginally called to schedule the appointment, they repeated back all of my information including phone number twice. They offered $100 off my order if I rescheduled but I didn't bother since I never had an estimate whose to say they wouldn't have jacked up the price $100 to take $100 off. And I didn't feel like wasting another 3 or 4 hours waiting for someone who didn't show.

The process worked very well. We are in the process of redecorating a rental property in Fla. We called for an appointment, looked at samples and chose carpet based on the sales persons recommendations. They installed it the next day as advertised and it looks wonderful.

Expensive in comparison with other local companies. Don (the salesman) was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great if next day service is a must have and you don't mind spending the extra 25-30% cost. Hassle to cancel even within 24 hrs.

I was quite satisfied with the company. A time was set up for the sales person to come to my house. He arrived promptly as did the installation team. I was impressed with both the salesman and installation people being so punctual. The installation crew was polite and efficient. I paid the agreed upon price, no hidden extras as I have run into in the past. I liked being able to look at the carpet in the room I was re-doing so I could see how the colors matched.

I am very dissatisfied. The installers were very unprofessional, the merchandise was not loaded on their truck to what we ordered, and the salesperson is now not returning our call. The installation manager has not contacted us as well and 2 messages have been left.

These folks advertise they will install your purchase next day and that is true. However, this is only one small benefit of dealing with this company. We had wall-to-wall carpet installed in the main rooms of our house and had to do nothing. They moved furniture, took up carpet and pad, put down new pad and carpet (and hauled it off) and moved furniture back. This was all done in one day, and everyone involved was polite and professional. There were no hidden costs - the total covered everything. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to friends.

VERY PLEASED WITH THE END PRODUCT, WORKERS OK - WORK TOOK LONGER THAN ORIGINALLY STATED, BUT THEY MOVED ALL THE FURNITURE AND PLACED MOST OF IT BACK. DID NOT CLEAN FLOORS WHEN COMPLETED. LOTS OF DUST AFTERWARDS.
