Description of Work: The "provider" installed a NEW Carrier A/C unit. It has broken TWICE in less than two years. N&M Cool Today indicated that this was a good unit. Either they lied, or this was a bad unit. EITHER way, they should have stood behind their work. Sadly, some "switch" broke several months ago, which the technician was somehow able to fix, but he REFUSED to obtain a new, fully working switch. Last night, the blower/fan completely broke. The technician took 40 minutes to get to my house (after saying he was withing 15 - 20 minutes) and finally descended his ladder and told me I better use all of the fans in my house, since he was unable to fix this less than three year-old unit right then. He promised, however, that he would pick up the unit and get it installed before 12 or 1 PM the next day, since I have dogs who would die from the intense heat. At 10:30 AM, however, I received a call from the technician telling me that the contract indicated that the owner of my house needed to be contacted before any repairs were made. This, DESPITE the fact that I had given him MY credit card number (so that there was no worry about them getting their money) and DESPITE the fact that my landlord indicated that she NEVER wrote that wording into the contract. She indicated to me that she simply wrote that she wanted to get a bill at the end of the repairs. Despite that, the technician said that he had been unable to contact the owner and, thus, would not put in the new A/C fan, DESPITE the fact that I was at work and that my dogs would die unless I left work (I'm an MD, and would have had to blow off a bunch of patients) and drove home to retrieve them. The technician and N&M Cool Today could NOT have cared less. They did NOT care if two dogs died. As it turned out, IMMEDIATELY (and I mean IMMEDIATELY) after getting off the phone with the technician who claimed he could not contact the owner, I called her and got her IMMEDIATELY on the phone. I explained the situation to her, she called this moronic company, and got the technician to fix the damned thing. She also wrote me that she had had a discussion with the supervisor, attempting to correct the misinformation in the computer about the domicile. DESPITE THAT, when I called tonight, the company claimed that the owner had NEVER contacted them and had NEVER changed the instructions. I spoke with the supervisor, who claimed that she had NEVER spoken with the owner. She out-and-out lied to me, and was incredibly rude while doing so ("I'm off-duty", even though I initially called BEFORE the close of business). She implied that I was lucky to have her even contact me. This is a HORRIDLY run business, and I have NO idea why it has gotten good reviews on Angie's List. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.
