Description of Work: I had a leak in my Pex tubing for the main water line into my house. They fixed it immediately and were courteous, professional and very reasonably priced (considering Pete, the poor tech, spent a good amount of time in my hot attic!) I am very happy with the service, people and will definitely call them my plumbers from now on.

Description of Work: I have a 2,000 sq ft home that was built in 1994. N&M Cool Today (Bradenton office) removed our old 3T heat pump system and replaced it with a new one - indoor, outdoor, and thermostat. The inside unit sits on a shelf platform in the garage, which was sagging due to leakage from the old system. They replaced and reinforced that shelf and removed the old insulation under it and replaced it witih new. The outdoor unit sits on a conscrete slab, and Rick noted that it was not positioned to code. So they added another concrete slab and moved it a little bit further (inches) from the house. At my request, they also installed a UV light behind the indoor unit to reduce airborne molds, microorganisms and bacteria, and a zinc ball on the copper lines to reduce corrosion. I also had them clean my dryer vents, which vent through the roof. They came at the same time the other work was performed and did a good job. They cleaned the system from end to end, and recommended that I replace the pleated metal duct with a plastic one that would be less likely to retain lint along the sides. I was so impressed with Rick Kinsella, who did the estimate, and Debra, the office person who scheduled the service, that I also asked them to see if they could fix the pole light in the front yard that was shorted out and missing its electronic eye and top cover. They located a replacement top after discussing the type I wanted, repaired the electronic eye and short in the lamp post, and put energy efficient bulbs in both the lamp post and the outdoor wall light.. I also asked them to see if they could fix my pool heater, which had the "Service" light on. After an initial checkout, they told me that I needed to contact a technician who was familiar with that type of pool heater. I appreciated that they didn't try to fix something that was beyond their scope of experience.

Description of Work: They originally came out to clear a backup in the pipes. They then said they suspected other problems and wanted to do a video to see exactly what was going on. I agreed because I kept getting a back-up. They said that the pipes needed to be jet washed because of a lot of scale build-up at the cost of $1,700.00 and it would be guaranteed for 5 years. After jet washing the pipes that advised that there was other problems (the pipes had bellied) and they could not guarantee their work and that the pipes needed to be replaced. They wanted $12,000 to fix the pipes which I have not done that yet.

The quotes we received were all within the same range, but the system and extras that N&M included were why we went with them. N&M also had a good rating with Angie's List which made us feel more comfortable using them. Being new to the area we have turned to Angie's List to look for reviews of many businesses in the area. The sales person explained everything that was to be done and they took care of all permits and arranged for follow up with the company and the county.

Description of Work: My husband tried to install a "Nest" thermostat, on a Sunday, blew a fuse, and wanted a professional to complete the job. He called Cool Today to finish up. The technician finished the job, answered questions about our heater/AC (we just moved in and weren't sure about the filter). My husband signed up for the service agreement. The same technician came two days later to do the inspection, and replaced the capacitor.

Description of Work: We were told by Florida Power and Light during an inspection that we had leaking duct work that should be repaired. The first attempt to get an estimate was from Action Cooling and Heating. Action bought out the company we had been using for preventive maintenance in the past. The technician from Action, (Lenny Silva} took lots of pictures and used them to try to pressure us into a quick decision on replacing not only all the duct work, but also the evaporator coil considered to be "extremely" rusted out and have the system sanitized. The price was to be $5800.00 after the technician spoke to his boss. The price was "discounted" if I would committ immediately. If I wanted to do just the air ducts it would be "only" $4500.00. Since no previous inspection spoke about issues with the air handler or the need to sanitize the system I was skeptical. The "deal" if I would go ahead immediately was the last straw. I said I wanted to think it over. The technician left and I never heard from them again. I turned to Angie's List. In a short time I was able to find a number of contractors that had excellent reviews and also were on a list of participating contractors that FPL had worked with successfully in the past. I selected N & M Cool Today (N&M Cooling and Heating) out of Sarasota based on almost 100 positive reviews. I called and scheduled an appointment for a Leakage Test. The specialists Ron and Nate were prompt and professional. They explained everything very clearly and told us our options. They completed a computer analysis of our ductwork's air handling capacity which provided a report that illustrated the approximate leakage. Based on their recommendations and some research of my own, we decided to have Aeroseal Duct Sealing done. This procedure seals tha leaks from the inside and there is no need to go through the expense of replacement. Ron and Nate arrived at the appointed time and spent nearly 4 hours cleaning the duct work, preparing the system for the sealing, and completing the Aeroseal installation. When finished they ran a new computer report that illustrated a 96% reduction in leakage and a 12% improvement in our Heating and Cooling capacity. I also had an UV filter installed. The entire cost with a 10 year warranty was only $1800.00. Quite a bit less that the $5900.00 Action told me I needed to spend. We already notice an improvement in the levelness of cooling throughout the house.

Description of Work: N&M Cool Today provided a proposal to replace an aging heat pump in my home. Their proposal was very good and their salesman was responsive to my requests and follow up questions. Their proposed price was very good.

Description of Work: We originally chose N & M after a thorough search 3 years ago for replacement of an ailing air conditioner and ancient water heater. They recommended a unit that perfectly cooled (and heated) the indoor space and was the latest technology to really help with power consumption. Our electric bills dropped an average of 25% after the first few months of use. As it is such a major part of Florida living, it is the only thing I would consider a warranty plan on. The last scheduled service was in January 2013 and absolutely every aspect of the unit was checked. In the 3 years we have had inspections as part of the plan every 6 months and the tech usually spends the good part of an hour checking, lubricating and testing everything. Always on time. Other than a goofball helper during initial installation, all techs for the checkups have been very professional. I give this company 2 big thumbs up.
