Cool Energy Plumbing Today

There are't enough words that an express how grateful we are for the outstanding response and service we received yesterday from their electrician Mike Manibusan and office receptionist Glenda. They both demonstrated that Taking Care of People (TCP) is more than just a company slogan, it's a philosophy that the employees live by. Around 4 in the afternoon this past Saturday the lights in one section of the house went out as we were setting up for a big 60th Birthday Party celebration that started at 7 pm. It was thundering, raining and the sun was rapidly setting. The lights involved included the lanai and part of the dining/living room area. I called and explained to Glenda the situation and she was very emphatic. Even though it was last minute and they were booked with other customers, they made it happen and fit us in. Mike who was very friendly and reassuring, got right to work to diagnose and fix our problem. We had lights back on just as the first guests were arriving. I am very appreciative and did share my experience with my friends at the party. I will highly recommend this company!

Since I am a landlord who lives 4 hours from this residence, I called the AC repair company who did a fine job replacing my AC. The plumbing section of Cool, Energy, and Plumbing Today did NOT provide the same quality service. In fact, the issue diagnosing the true reason my condo unit flooded was not discovered until I repeatedly called trying to get help. The plumbers charged 600.00 to replace a flange and reset the toilet which is extremely high. They also charged 1163.00 to replace and install the hot water heater (a smaller one with only a 6yr warranty). After reading reviews, I discovered other people had a 50 gal HWH installed with a 10 yr warranty for 163.00 less than what I paid. I was ripped off and told the plumber on the phone that his pricing was really high. Since I have a tenant in the unit and I live far, I felt my hands were tied and I needed to get the issue repaired asap especially since there was 1/2inch water in the unit. Even through the exorbitant prices, the toilet was not repaired and the HWH still leaked. I called them again and after Jayson decided it was the drain in the building that was clogged causing the flooding. A WEEK later, he returns to the property and fixes the clogged pipe which was the responsibility of the Condo Assn yet the water damage is costing almost 6000.00. I called the 24/7 line to request an emergency repair and the receptionist told me she sent her advisor an EMAIL and that she would contact me Monday. They advertise 24/7 Emergency repair but they did not provide me with that service nor did I receive a call Monday from the advisor. I had to call the plumber on his cell since I had his number on my phone. He did not call back until Monday. The water continued to drain into my unit and my tenant attempted to keep it dry. There is now black mold and I had to contact my insurance company. This experience has been horrible. The plumbers recommended a water extraction company who practically harassed me until my insurance agent told them I was using a different company. He is now claiming 1000.00 of repairs (which were not completed). And to top it off....I have to pay 1800.00 for shotty repair work along with a 1000.00 deductible for water and mold mitigation. Do yourself a favor and call a good plumber - not these folks.

CoolToday has been taking care of all of our cooling, heating, plumbing, and electrical needs for years. I've always been very satisfied with their workmanship and prices. Many technicians have serviced our equipment and today Joe Z. did an excellent job providing routine maintenance on our 3 year old air conditioner with which we have been very pleased.

They did a great job. I would recommend them to anybody, everybody. I also got financing from them for the year. They did everything properly and I am so happy with them. They are quick, efficient and all the services they provided are the best. The price was just right. I had 10 estimates and they provided the best estimate considering the brand. Everything was so quickly arranged and done. I am so grateful that I found them. I have a contract with them for maintenance.

Kurt, Adam, Rudy, Jon, Ernest, Brad and Dan all showed up at 8am last Saturday with a fleet of trucks filled with specialized equipment to clean and remove allergens from duct work. In one day, they cleaned and disinfected 3 A/C systems in a 7,300 sq foot house including grills, electronic filters, etc. All of the men were courteous and went out of their way to make sure to answer all questions. The left the job spotless. They made sure our cats didn't run out the door while bringing equipment in/out. Great experience would highly recommend.

Installation crew were very professional and very tidy. Some issues with main a/c unit after installation with coolant levels, but problem was addressed. I would recommend Cool Today.

He found nothing wrong with the wiring. In a service later by the manufacturers agent, it was discovered to have a bad control board and was giving an erroneous reading.

Troy came to trouble shoot a difficult problem. One circuit breaker kept tripping with no apparent reason. There was not a short or any visible problem. He tracked it down to a loose wire in the ceiling fan. I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to explain everything to me. He was professional, courteous, and friendly. He cleaned the area before he left.

Charleston and Rudy were right on time. They were very professional, hard-working and personable. They were also extremely thorough, placing drop-cloths over all the furniture and items under the vents. This was a thorough cleaning and sealing, not one of those $49 jobs that really don't make a difference as far as the efficiency and cleanliness of the HVAC system. When they were done, they dusted and vacuumed up all of the "junk" that had fallen from the vents. They had had to remove all of the clothes from one of my walk-in closets and they put everything back in the right place. Mitch, the gentleman who initially came out to give me an estimate, was also very professional and nice. I don't think I have ever been as pleased with a service provider as I was with Cool Today.

We got bids from nine different companies and N & M Cool Today got the bid. We wanted a company that had been in business for a long time so they'd be there if we needed them in the future. The combination of the companies previously known reliability and the price sold us. We really gave a lot of thought to this.

Vince is the technician who came to the house and WOW! He really knows his trade! He did thorough evaluation of the unit and discovered a wire had been connected to wrong terminal which decreased the efficiency of our unit (which we have had for 4 years and serviced regularly by another company). Vince was courteous and very informative. We received an email prior to his arrival with his photo and credentials. Nice touch! Have signed a maintenance contract with Cool Today

First, the sales representative was extremely helpful. I knew in advance that the unit was on its last legs and I didn't want to end up in an emergency situation needing a new unit. So I had him come out in the Fall and draw up a bid to see what the prices would be like. Like one of the other three total companies I reviewed, he measured the house, carefully asked about my temperature preferences, and took careful measurements of the unit before providing me with a three part bid: a low end model, a medium model, and a superior model. Unfortunately life happened and I became unable to think about the HVAC for quite some time. Then March arrived. During our first hot week, the HVAC died. I contacted the companies to see whether their prices still held and whether they could have service technicians out as soon as possible (it was a Thursday). Cool Today not only kept to their price, but the middle model they'd offered was some brand about which I'd never heard. When I spoke to the sales rep about it he chuckled: he said they carry a lot of those because Consumer Reports ranked them highly one year. I asked what the difference was between that and the Carrier (which their company is licensed and trained to install). Color, he replied, one is grey and one is beige. I just shook my head. I asked if I could have the Carrier for the same price and he said sure. Not only that, but the guys would be out on Saturday to install it. One of the nice things about the unit (other than the fact that it is so incredibly quiet, I barely hear it running), is that it comes with a year's supply of inserts for the cage that holds the filter material. This is now no longer in the ceiling, but in the unit and waist height. So much more convenient and environmentally more conscious, too. The only negative? (And I probably should have given a lower score for this...but since it was one person out of 3....) One of the installers made some comments at the end that were quite sexist. They were directed at the County Inspection Officer's group, which is apparently "cracking down," but this guy was blaming all the extra proof of work done well on the fact that she's a woman. I chuckled inside over the fact that he'd spent most of his day in my laundry room, where my feminist poster hangs.

The service tech arrived on time, and was prepared to do the maintenance check under my service contract. Brian was well-mannered, intelligent, and competent. He had no problem having me watch his work which was competently performed. I had already inquired about having a UV light system installed, and Brian explained the two levels of protection offered. There was absolutely no pressure to buy the more expensive unit, but I decided to do so. Brian had not installed many of the more expensive units, and it took him awhile to puzzle out the best way to install it, but he figured it out and got the job done. Cool Today is not the least expensive A/C company in the Sarasota area, but it is one of the most reliable. I definitely would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a first-class job. One bit of advice. Buy your own A/C air filter and have them install it and take away the old filter which they will do at no charge.. You can buy two filters yourself for the price of one off the truck.

It went very well. The drainage is working great and so is my underground irrigation system. I was afraid they would tear up the pipes, valves and wiring while digging a 90' ditch (by hand due to very limited access). They hit and damaged one or two items but repaired them immediately. I have since tested the zones and all were working very well. George took the time before and after the job to explain what was to be done and what was done. PS the first visit for the diagnosis cost me $89 but since they did the work, I was credited the amount off the contract. It was a hard job, particularly the hand digging through piping, roots and wiring, but it was accomplished on schedule and as described. If it cost me a little more than I could have gotten it done with someone else, it was worth it. I got an extended warranty on the lift station pump (5 yrs) and a lifetime warranty on the plumbing done. I did not have to sit an watch them every minute and if fact was not there most of the time. I do recommend them.

Previous owner used a low end ac unit that was to big for the size of the hoses in the attic (like blowing as hard as you can though a straw). The piping in the attic were tossed on the ground and not properly connected. Cool today showed detailed photos of what was wrong and set us up to be taken care of. The new unit we have is properly sized for the house and hoses (like blowing as hard as you can through a paper towel roll). The unit only runs half the time of the previous unit which will hopefully lower our electric bill. Good job Cool Today!!

From the estimate to installation and inspection the experience was wonderful and I would strongly recommend this company. They offer good old fashion honest customer service and are very accommodating to the customer. We got home on Sunday March 22 to a hot house and our regular AC guy told us the next day it was the compressor and that our 1986 unit basically had died. We then went to Angie's list and proceeded to contact 4 different companies for estimates (in addition to our regular AC guy). When Jeremy came to provide his estimate, he impressed us by offering to look at the unit free of charge to see if he could get it temporarily running again. He did! He was honest, professional and knowledgeable. He listened to our concerns and answered all of our questions. Of the 5 companies we got estimates from 2 told us we needed to replace all the duct work and 3 told us it was not needed. Cool Today was one of the ones that told us it was not needed. Without telling him another company told us to replace all the attic duct work, we asked for his opinion about the attic duct work. Jeremy was honest. He inquired if we had any hot rooms or any issues. We told him that we didn't and in fact loved that the master, which was the furthest room from the unit had the coldest AC and a direct solid duct. He looked in the attic and checked ceiling vents and told us he didn't see a need to do the attic duct work. I explained that this was an unexpected expense and had just applied for a 0% card with BOA that had been approved but didn't have the card yet. He told me that it would not be a problem, and that they could wait until it came in to charge it. Jeremy gave us estimates for 3 different Carrier units. We told him we still were getting estimates and also wanted to research on the internet the different units. He did not pressure us and told us to call if we had any other questions. I had some questions about the thermostat which I emailed him about and he promptly answered by email. After doing our researchwe decided on the Carrier Performance 3 ton 17.5 seer unit which Cool Today quoted for $7401 installed. We choose Cool Today to do the work for a fewreasons: 1. Our own positive experience with Jeremy being thorough and honest, not overselling us things we didn't need and caring enough to getting the AC going again; 2. Great company reviews on Angie?s list and on the internet about installation and service; 3. Great internet reviews on the Carrier brand and unit we were considering; 4. Competitive price The installation was scheduled for April 1, but Jeremy contacted us 3/30 to tell us they could get to it the next day, 3/31. Richard and Ivan who did the installation on 3/31 were outstanding.They arrived on time, diligently worked and cleaned up after it was all done. I had a UV light in the old unit that was going to be transferred to the new one, which Richard found was not working, and he told me that when their company quality assurance tech would take care of putting a new one in. Tom, the Quality Assurance Tech, came on 4/14 again on-time. He installed the new UV light unit, and made adjustments to the unit. He helped us with the thermostat settings that we had made and answered all of our questions. Both Regina and Cyndi in the office were extremely helpful with the scheduling. In fact all of the employees we dealt with in this company were outstanding. I can?t say enough about the positive experience I?ve had with this company. I strongly recommend them.

They did a professional job. They did what they said they were going to do. They charged me what they said they were going to charge. There were no unexpected issues. I would absolutely use them in the future.
