Cool Energy Plumbing Today

I have used this company for the past 10 years. I don't understand any bad reviews. They have always been prompt, reasonable and fixed the problem. I would definitely use their services for all my air conditioning needs. Very professional team. They fixed the problem that was under warranty.

We needed to a new solution for the HVAC treatment of an entire north wing (3 bedrooms and two baths) of our house since the 5-ton central AC located on the south side was just not sufficient to take care of all 2800 sq ft through the old ducts of the house. We got several proposal and all were rather expensive. However Cool Today, through Matthew Clevenger, provided the most details I needed and was priced within the range of other proposals. The mechanical installation of the 30,000 BTU outside heat-pump/cooling condenser and 3 indoor units was done efficiently and with considerable care for detail. The names of the excellent crew that were particularly skilled and professional are: Nicholas Jones, JC Zipperer and Gregory Lussier. The team made sure we were completely satisfied with the installation. For example, the proposed duct-covering of the three electrical/coolant lines running up the outer wall to the penetration to inside were considerably larger than we had expected and Cool Today offered and did get special smaller ducts for our installation. The team made sure everything was working well for each room and we were very satisfied with the finished system and the competency of the installation.

It went very well. I had no existing doorbell so Fred Villanueva had to drill through and find a good way to connect the power, which he did. The work was done neatly and he cleaned up after he was done.

Two workmen came and hung up plastic sheeting in the work area to ensure minimal dust in the rest of the house. The job took about eight hours to complete, but was done very professionally.

Michael from Plumbing Today was not able to arrive in the morning when scheduled. He did arrive that afternoon. It was not a problem. He was unable to locate the access opening for line to the street sewer connection. He said that it would be necessary then to pull the toilet for access and reinstall for an additional charge of $389. Our town home was built in 2010 by a reputable builder but Michael said that having no access point was not code but that a lot of builders took short cuts. (not sure how the county inspectors would miss such an oversight if the access point was not installed). Still he was patient while my wife tried to locate it and enlisted the neighbors help. Finally she found it under two inches of mulch. Michael snaked the pipe to about 35 feet and said he could not get the drain snake past that point. Since he could not clear the sewer drain his office sent Ryan with a camera (N/C). Ryan came a couple days later and used a camera and showed my wife a video of the obstruction. He stated that it could not be dislodged and therefore it was necessary to dig and replace a 3' PVC section. His bid was $4,600 to remove pavers (subcontracted), replace a section of PVC pipe and reinstall pavers. A 5-year guaranteed was provided for “peace of mind”. An alternate solution was offered to attempt to “wash out” the obstruction for $1,350 but with no guarantee and was not recommended. A third choice was provided and identified as a “Permanent Solution” for $6,900 to replace the 3" PVC with a 4" pipe from the condo to the street. It came with a 25-year guarantee. (I was not able to substantiate the need for replacing the 3” pipe with 4” when I talked with other plumbers. In fact I was later told by a state certified plumber that it would have made no improvement and was totally unnecessary.) It seemed evident that digging was going to be required and before we spent $4,600 we wanted another estimate. I contacted Fox Plumbing on Angie's List for a second bid and Paverstone Tech Design to remove the pavers and reinstall. Anthony from Fox Plumbing estimated that replacing the 3 feet pipe section would be $1,000 - $1,300. Paverstone Tech Design, Jose Ortega, Owner, estimated $500 for removing and replacing the pavers. Total bid for all work was $1,500 - $1,800. Both companies are family owned and operated. I opted to go with these two companies because of the professionalism, positive reviews, family owned and operated and price. Anthony from Fox Plumbing came onsite to locate the dig so utilities could be marked. He inquired as to how I was certain of the work needed. I explained what Plumbing Today did and told us. He could not understand why the drain was blocked since construction was done 7 years ago and asked if I minded if he checked for blockage and see if digging could be avoided. He inserted a snake with a ball like end about 2.5 inches in diameter. (Photo included) He successfully ran it all the way to the street connection. I was shocked and then elated. His charge was $265 when I was fully prepared to pay him $1,300. That’s honesty and taking care of the customer first. The professionalism and customer care of Fox Plumbing was outstanding and saved us up to $4,335! $265 versus $4,600. I have since been told that some plumbing companies push incentives to their workers to identify other plumbing work needed. (I did not verify if this is a practice of Plumbing Today.) If so, perhaps that is why drain cleanings come with a FREE camera inspection. Customers also get a $100 referral fee when they refer Plumbing Today to their friends. In my experience I have seen how providing Incentives for employees to “bill more” can color judgement and result in behavior that prevents the customers interest remaining first.

Abysmal! There were always up-charges for any work they performed; and the work was ALWAYS shoddy, despite the premium cost. When they installed my whole-house water filtration system, they charged me an additional almost $1300 and installed it so poorly I ended up having progressively worsening leaks, which they never fixed. When they would "tune up" my AC units, they would allegedly fill them with the necessary Freon and tell me all was in order and the job was complete. When I had another AC contractor look at my AC units, who was only the second company to have touched them after Cool Today, they found that Cool Today had left many of the screw fittings loose, thereby causing Freon to leak from the loosely fitted screws. I RECOMMEND YOU NEVER CONTRACT COOL TODAY, PLUMBING TODAY, ELECTRIC TODAY FOR ANY WORK ON YOUR PROPERTY.

We had a toilet back-up and a very slow tub drain. The technician, Johnny, figured out if the two problems were related. It turned out the toilet was clogged and the drain open/close valve was not installed correctly. We had relatives in town including my 5 month old grand daughter so getting it diagnosed and fixed quickly was terrific. I will ask for Johnny in the future - he is a great asset to your Company.

The technician's diagnosis was to replace the fan control in the air handler for $350 installation. Part was covered under warranty. But that was not the issue.... after pointing out the compressor was not running.... he figured out the fault was a capacitor in the compressor unit and replaced that at no charge.

The install was fine and completed as promised. The surge protector was not available immediately and a return trip was required.

I have only had them come out once. I have a contract with them to clean and over haul my unit every six months. I was satisfied with their services. It was running okay, and everything was fine. The price was in line with everyone else. It was good.

On their pricing, we just bought an $8,000 air conditioner that would have normally cost me $12,000. Plus they did one little extra step that's not normal. You know, I had other people coming out to give us quotes, and this is the only company that caught the fact that we had a gas leak. So basically, they saved our life. If I had started cooking like I was intending to, the house would have gone up. The other people smelled, it, saw it, heard it, whatever, but they didn't know what to do about it, so they did nothing. That was shocking that it went that way. They cleaned up after themselves, nothing had to be told, they answered any questions we had, they had the knowledge, they taught us how to use like the thermostat, you know, because no two are alike so they wanted to make sure we understood it. And then they do one more step; like you buy the unit so you get a ten year warranty and all of that, but they do five years on labor. They had an employee called John, and John was kind of like getting ready to retire but he really had done this for so many years he really didn't want to. They created a position for him as ambassador. So after we had installed the air condition, whatever, two months later I get this knock on the door and I see the truck identifying who it is, but I thought, I didn't call. He said no, no, no, you didn't call and he introduced himself; very personable, and he gave us a gift package that included two 16 oz. Tervis tumblers. I mean, Tervis tumblers, I know what they cost because I've bought them. So it had their logo and everything else inside but you know what, I didn't care because I just thought that was very special. And he had a job to do and he was taking such pride in being a representative and PR'ing and pleasant. They were fantastic. I would grade them absolutely an A overall. They had to have a minimum of two people who completed the install and it really took them less than half a day.

Arrived promptly and replaced the breaker for $338. Breaker is about $55 so labor/trip was $283. Even on the weekend this is high. Worst is that claimed not to code and everything needs to be replaced for $3300 for the one side or for $7700 for both sides. Should be $6600 or less for both sides. Why more than double? Called my regular electrician and he quoted $2500 to do both sides. Other $5200 is for what? Will not use again!

Appt for Sunday pm. They arrived on time. Professional and friendly. Jorge diagnosed the problem, fixed and cleaned up. All within an hour! This company oozes competency and customer service!!!!

Steve Cooper came out at the appointed time and did an excellent job of cleaning the dryer vent that runs out through our roof. We have been impressed with the quality of work, knowledge, and professionalism of Cool/ Energy/Plumbing Today technicians who have done work for us many times, and this was no exception. When Steve cleaned the vent, he discovered that a vent screen at the top of our duct had accumulated a solid 3-inch later of lint. He removed this screen and explained that it was not only not necessary, but contributed to the dryer problem we were having. I told him we were considering having the dryer vent moved to ground level, and he explained that this was probably not an option because it could only be done if the dryer backed up to an outer wall of the house for structural reasons. As always, I greatly appreciate that Steve took the time to share his knowledge and do such a good job. Thank you!

Frankie Bermudez came to do the repair. He was extremely professional and polite. He took time to listen to my concerns and gave me options to resolve my issue with the drain. He was very knowledgeable and it took him no time at all to make the repair. I would recommend Plumbing Today especially if every plumber on their team is as professional and knowledgeable as Frankie. If I should have any plumbing repair needs in the future, PlumbingToday will be one of the first calls I make. Note that they won't be the cheapest, but the work done today was worth the price based on the quality.

They were extremely expensive. I noticed he wasn't complete on the job but I didn't complain. The gentleman was professional and as friendly as can be. A very nice man came out and did the repair. He was knowledgeable but the amount of work and time he was here it was just outrageous on money. There was cap that should have been replaced wasn't so now I have a hole in my wall.

I have an annual contract with them so they come out twice a year to do inspections.

They even removed the old one. They are a little pricey but they are competitive. Responsiveness was A+. They are trained and professional.

After talking with both a plumbing tech and an electrical tech, I went with replacing my old water heater with a Hybrid water heater because the cost of upgrading my electrical service was prohibitive to accommodate a tankless electic unit. The cost was much more affordable for a Hybrid water heater. The Plumbing tech, Todd Krause was punctual, very knowledgeable and professional. He accommodated my desires for placement of the unit and performed a beautiful installation. I would highly recommend Plumbing Today.

They came out and they did some work, but they didn't really do a good job. Don't use them. They convinced us that we needed different parts and things. We were new to Florida and didn't know. They did a lousy job. The toilets didn't work right and all kinds of stuff. When they were out here four years ago to replace the unit, they told us we needed to replace our other unit. At best, we needed to change the capacitor, but it's been running good the past four years and they wanted $1200 for that capacitor.

I asked for the project manager to come to my home to show all we were unhappy about! He also brought with him his quality control guy! They went over all my concerns and fixed everything they could or explained why they had to do it this way! Mark the quality control tech was amazing! He did fix my dishwasher even tho it was very difficult! I think it's more about the dishwasher then it was about how they put the kick plate back in! Seems to be a defect! But Mark wasn't going to quit until he got it right!! He's a perfect man/personality for the job description extremely caring and professional!! So I'm now re reviewing them with an A and definitely will continue doing business with Cool Today!! As I said previously you make it right and it's only right I do the same! I'm ok if Angie's list wants to take down my earlier review or at least add this one to it! Thanks!

It is under annual maintenance contract. I think their service staff are very well trained and they're timely.
