They did a good job. They made sure that all the windows and doors have alarms on them. They installed motion censor. I never had any trouble with billing or payments with them. I felt safe with their service. I would highly recommend them.

I've been using them for 12 or 13 years since I moved in this house. We did have some issues with some things. They're not exactly the best on service. Their price is okay, it's not great. Once my contract is up I will not use them again. Their customer service is lacking, they're very poor with their customer service. They're just priced too high for anybody. I don't think you personally get what you paid for.
Description of Work: They just came out and upgraded everything that we had, new wall, new magnets on the windows. I actually added two cameras, one on the inside and another on the outside.

We have had ADT forever. I think I considered looking at something else, but I didn’t; I just stuck with ADT. We still have their monitoring system. They are very expensive.
Description of Work: We had already had an alarm system in our home. Then we had ADT come in and kind of redo some stuff, fix it up and we stuck with them. They up graded the system.

On several occasions our alarm system malfunctioned which I understand happens. What is hard to deal with is the amount of time ti takes to send a repair tech to fix the problem. It is always three to five days. This last incident the alarm malfunctioned on a Thursday evening. I called and they said the best they can do is send the tech out the following Wednesday. That's six days without an alarm. I explained that was unacceptable, I need to have the confidence that my business is secure, and they just said that's the best they can do. I have a three year contract with them, which they said they will hold me to. I advised them that they are not meeting their end of the contract as I am paying for security service and not getting it. I was told they don't have to guarantee my security and I cannot get out of my contract without paying a lot of money. I recommend to stay clear of ADT. Once the sale is complete they don't live up to their customer service promise. I am looking for a local alarm company that is more concerned about their customers.

UNTRUSTWORTHY! THE REPRESENTATIVE LIED ON BEHALF OF ADT - THEY WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO SELL A CONTRACT! BEWARE, THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE! The Representative told my husband and me on two separate occasions not to be concerned with any cancellation fees or additional charges because we bank with USAA. He even acknowledged the Realtor's 'For Sale' sign in the yard. Well, I'm going to sue. It's a good case.
Description of Work: LIED, LIED, LIED!!! The ADT representative said it was no problem that our home was on the market for sale - we can cancel at any time with NO CANCELLATION FEE or additional fees. ADT was informed that the home sold and they continued to take monthly payments from our bank account. Taking this to the Regional Manager, e-mailing all the information, there was no response. Taking it above the Regional Manager resulted in our receiving a bill for $1,107.68. We were told that the representative did not have the authority to approve an early cancellation. If the Representatives do not have the authority to tell a customer the truth - what position does this put the prospective client in?

This event occurred while we were on a trip, so we unable to be home for an appointment, nor were we willing to have a sensor down while we were away. If we were home, waiting for a normal service call at no charge would have been OK. But having a sensor inoperative while away was unacceptable. But their charge was outrageous and ADT refused to do a weekend call at no charge. Since ADT would not give a definite time of arrival, it was very hard to find a neighbor to be at the house to let a technician in. Basically, ADT's normal service is inadequate for reasonably repairing a system when their customers are not available to let a tech in their home which is when repair service is very important to keep the home alarm system fully functional. We were fortunate to have a friend who was able to fix the problem. ADT's response to our problem was inadequate. We will be looking for another home security provider - hopefully there is one who could be more responsvie to problems if they occurred while we are on trips.
Description of Work: Offered to send a technician on Saturday under their "emergency" designation at a price of ~$242 to fix a window sensor that had failed. This event happened while we were on a trip to include a cruise. ADT also asked us to accept that one sensor was down until we got home from our trip (8 days from the incident)! They did schedule the tech at the emergency rate, after they refused my request to schedule the tech at no cost to me.

ADT insists we are committed and have no ability to get out of the 3 year contract. My wife stayed on the phone for 45 min to talk to a person about the issue, and she emailed the higher up person." THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!! OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN'T EVEN CALL THEM OR YOU ARE COMMITTED AGAINST YOUR WILL!!!!!!!
Description of Work: We called to ask what our options are if we choose to use their service. They said it would be $45 to have a service person come out, so we gave them the credit card #, and confirmed with them we do not want to be committed. The person on the phone said no problem. After that their phone tree took 55min to get through to choose a date, to our surprise the next salesperson said we have a 3 yr contract that we "signed digitally by confirming with our last salesperson" and we are committed to 3 years service!!!

I had the police show up several times at home when a door was opened while the system was on and the phone call was not answered quickly enough. The alarm alert audible signal is too low to be heard unless one is standing near it, hence the police will show up soon after. The system battery backup had an initial failure and the replacement improved equipment was just as bad for these last two years. They wanted to charge me $75 to repair their own equipment, but I refused and they installed the replacement at no cost.
Description of Work: Three year contract, about $99 or $199 to initially install the equipment for 4 doors and 3 windows and 1 motion sensor, then $53/month for 36 months, so ~$1900 total.

Description of Work: A very professional installer came to our house and quickly ascertained that a wireless system would be support our requirements. However, he needed a large antenna because the cell service in our area is weak. The HQ said the antenna had to be ordered. The install was placed on hold. A month has passed, we have received numerous calls from ADT to reschedule but they have not been able to confirm availability of the antenna. We are growing impatient and may switch to another provider.

Description of Work: Hard sell. polite but pushy with several follow up phone calls. I gave them information about my house , they quoted a price and if I agreed to purchase on that same day I could get a discount. No other security company that I called put on that kind of pressure. they may or may not have a good product but the sales pitch really turned my off.

This company is not being totally honest when making phone contacts. I live in Oregon. I answered a solicitation call from ADT that showed on the caller ID that it was from "The Dalles, Oregon". I asked the person on the line trying to sell ADT security and was told they were calling from Oklahoma. This give me a negative opinion of ADT for modifying the caller ID to make it appear that it is more of a local call (hoping I would answer it) instead of being honest about what and where the call is from.

Awful. National security situation is honorific. Will not stop billing despite cancellation and phone calls
Description of Work: I have tried repeatedly to stop Adt from charging me after I cancelled. I had been assured several times it was taken care of. I received my credit card account today and noticed that although there was a credit there was also another bill. When will it stop? Calling Better Business on them.

I did not go well at all! I found it objectionable - and told them so - that when I call a local phone number here in Palm Coast, Florida - I do not expect to find myself speaking to a Sales aperson in a Call Center in Kentucky!! When I did not respond immediately to their installationand monitoring sales pitch - the person to whom I was speaking put me in touch with "his supervisor who could hel pme" --- it was nothing more than an extended sales pitch. Very Dissapointing.

We do not have a lot of problems with our system. Their customer service is very professional and knowledgeable. They can come out quickly if we have an issue. Their technicians are thorough if they have to come out to our home. They always bring the proper materials to do the work.

I had sales rep Kelly McCauley from the Orlando office come to my house and sell me a security system, she told me a few weeks after that she had submitted the necessary paperwork for the rebate. However it has now been 2 months and there is no record at corporate of anything being filed for a rebate for us. I called Kelly's cell phone during regular business hours and she did not return my call, I called again 5 days later, this time after hours, and she answered the phone saying "I'm on my own time" and hung up on me! My mother has gotten the run around from corporate and has talked to 5 different people, none of whom have been able to get us the rebate that I have documentation that I deserve. If ADT tries to send Kelly McCauley to your house request someone else! She told my mother that she has had this rebate issue many times (after 1st denying she knew anything about anything). Why is this woman still allowed to be a sales rep for this company if she has screwed up multiple rebates? I have threatened to report them to BBB and to make them honor the certificate that says they will refund my money completely if I am not satisfied within 6 months of installation. ADT really needs to pay attention to who is representing their company because I am not recommending them to anyone now!

We were extremely dissatisfied with the person ADT sent out to discuss our security needs. The first thing we noticed was her unprofessional behavior. She then quoted us close to seven hundred dollars for one door to be protected, and when we told her this was too high, she came down to four hundred dollars. After a few minutes with this person, we felt uncomfortable and decided we weren t going to be using the service. She then ran out of our door with a huff and a puff as if she was personally slighted by our decision. We really wanted to use ADT as we think they are one of the best services for the money, but because of the serious lack of representation by one of their sales persons, we doubt we will ever use them again.
Description of Work: As we recently moved from another area to Daytona Beach, we wanted to continue with our ADT monitoring service. A sales representative came out to our home and gave us an estimate. No further work was done and we are not currently using ADT.
