This was, hands down the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Unprofessional and just plain nasty. I was trying to have cement delivered for my driveway and the driver called in advance, threatened to charge me $2 per minute if he had to wait and then refused to pull his truck into the prepped space because he felt the property wouldn't hold his extra large vehicle. The driver was miserable and drew attention to himself in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The driver then pulled around the corner, sat in front of my neighbors house (presumably to pad his time card) and then drive off. Very disappointed.
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to pour concrete into my driveway for my new home. He did not provide the service

The company sales rep gave me a proposal on our first meeting in late November 2013. I contacted him in mid May to make sure they still wanted the job. We made an appointment to set a contract. The crew arrived on the set day and time. They completed the demo and removal of the old driveway. Then they graded and formed for the pour the next day. During the demolition one of the lawn irrigation pipes under the driveway was broken. The operator who also has a background in lawn irrigation fixed it immediately and checked the system for leaks. On Tuesday the crew and truck arrived on time, poured and finished the new driveway. The forms were pulled, grooves cut and job sight cleaned on Wednesday. Ben contacted me Thursday to review the completed work. Ben, the company sales rep is very likable and has a no pressure assuring manner. The crew is professional and friendly. They notified me when they arrived and were leaving the job as well as the next days schedule. I was given all the information i needed about what they were doing and what to expect. My job was completed totally to my satisfaction. The job went as planned, on time, as promised. They deserve an excellent rating.
Description of Work: Accu-Krete removed and replaced my driveway. Demolition to finish took 3 days.

Appointment for estimate went well. Was on time. At time of estimate, promised wife he'd throw in a 3'x3' pad off the main concrete run. Just prior to work beginning, informed owner that we would like to extend that space to 3'x5'. He said no problem doesn't require enough concrete to affect price. Work completed on time. Results were very satisfactory with a couple of exceptions: (1) formers trampled about 6 plants in process; (2) for the additional 3'x2' that was 'no problem' company, in effect, charged us an extra $150.00 for 6 square feet of concrete. Their listing on Angies List indicated that accepted major credit cards and showed photos of the cards they accept. When came time to pay bill with CC, was informed that there was a 3% charge on all credit cards - that didn't show in the Angies listing. Talking out of both sides of their mouth ... not very professional.

They tore up the driveway and poured in the concrete and it was turning black - they also did the sidewalk, front and back porches - they came out to test it and said they have not seen that mistake in 10 years - the concrete was organic and should have been mixed with something else but wasn't. So they made us wait 2 weeks because they had another job they needed to do and then they came back and re-did everything but we still were not satisfied with the job because there is a hole in the driveway and the back porch looked like the concrete was streaking - the front porch did not look too great either. Two times we called Ben, the salesman who told us we would be 100% satisfied, he came out and we showed him the problems and he said give it 30 days and everything will look better - then the third time the owner, Roger Mallory, came out and said the same thing. But he poured muratic acid on the back porch and made it look worse. He said in 30 days all would look better and I asked about the whole and he said maybe he could do a patch job but it will not match the rest of the driveway. That was in May and we have not heard from them since - We did not pay for a patch job or for a streaked back porch and front porch - we are unable to recommend them to anyone because the service was not good and the job was the worst work I have ever seen from a business and the owner and salesman are uncooperative - they took our money and we did not get what we paid for - also we were told by a friend to fill the hole in the driveway because it could lead into a sinkhole - so we had someone else do that but we had no holes in our driveway before Accu-Krete started this job - the hole was put there by them.
Description of Work: They were to re-do the driveway with concrete, the front porch, sidewalk to the front porch and back porch. Their motto was that they want no money down and you pay the bill when they are finished and you are 100% satisfied. We were not 100% satisfied at the end but told give it 2 weeks and if it still doesn't look right we will come back fix whatever it is that you don't like. This went on for months and it is still not fixed. The process started in February and it is November and yet to have anyone fix anything - they come to look but are unwilling to fix what is wrong.

Response from Accu-Krete Inc
When we replaced the driveway, we did notice there was several black areas in the concrete. Something we have never come across before. In speaking with our sand provider, they informed us that there could be a problem with that sand we purchased and used for this project. The sand company paid for a total replacement of the driveway. We also explained to the customer that in some cases there are organic deposits in the soil/ground and that, as well, can cause discoloration int he concrete. That problem has arisen on us a couple times in the past. There is nothing we can do when that occurs. When the organic deposits in the ground are in high content, they mix with the wet concrete, which is organic as well, and rise to the surface, giving a discoloration in the concrete. If there is discolation in the driveway, it is not due to the workmanship of our company. We take great pride in the work that we do and do warrant against workmanship. We cannot warrant against mother nature. The driveway was redone and did NOT have a hole in it. We would never, never leave a job incomplete! The front and back porches were not torn out and replaced as they are informing you. The front porch was always to be only resurfaced. The back porch was intially supposed to be torn out and replaced. There is a zero lot line so we would have needed to enter the neighbors property in order to complete the job. The customer lead us to believe that that would be okay. When we began the job, we were going to enter the back yard and needed to use to neighbors accessfor our equipment. The neighbor came out and told us if we stepped one foot on his property he would call the police. He was not doing this woman any favors. We then could only resurfaced the back porch. We resurfaced the front and back porches with a product called Nu-Coat. It is a masonry expoxy designed to refresh concrete surfaces. When Roger went back out after the initial complaint, he found the back porch did have discoloration. But it was from the sprinklers. There is iron in the water and the sprinklers are hitting the porch. We have done all we can do for this customer. We replaced her driveway twice. If we felt in any way that the work completed was not to the best standards, than we certainly would take care of it. As you know, we already did replace the driveway a second time. I believe that should show that we do care about our reputation. Unfortunately, there are some people that will never be satisfied. We dealt with two ladies on this job. One was the mother, who was very affable, the other was her daughter, who was very disputatious. When the job was completed, the mother was very satisfied with the outcome of our work. The daughter was not satisfied with any part of our work. I do hope this response sheds some light on this complaint. We do take complaints very seriously, and as I said, we did resolve the issue very satisfactorily.

Everything went well. Was a bit skeptical because the quote was the lowest by $600.00 After speaking to the representative he explained why this was. Glad i went with them and hopefully this last a long time.
Description of Work: Was looking to expand by patio slab to 40X14. Accu-krete removed the existing (2) 6ftX6ft slabs and poured a new 40X14 slab

Ben gave us a written estimate including the dimension of the walkway and placement on our lawn. Although we had to wait a few days past the original start date due to rain, the gentleman who came out on the 8th completed the job in one day and the finished walkway was exactly what we asked for. They left the work area clean and neat. The price was exactly what was quoted. My mom is very pleased with the walkway and we would definitely hire this company in future.
Description of Work: I needed a walkway built from our porch to our driveway wide enough to allow my mother to use a walker or wheelchair. I wanted a smooth concrete surface so that it would be easy for her to walk on and not have a slippery surface if it rained. The design needed to work around our existing landscaping due to a large tree.
