Two installers arrived on time in the morning and got right to work. We have had this kind of work performed on two other occasions over the years at other homes we've owned but done by other contractors. This pair of workers from CCC was quieter and made far less of a mess than had those in the past. Actually, the work-site was cleaner after they left than it was before they arrived. Both the new condenser and air-handler took up far more space than the units removed, but the installers managed to fit them into the same setting without altering the available space. They also refinished and painted the supporting insulate and ductwork and cut and assembled a new platform for the air-handler. It's a very impressive looking installation! Next, they installed a programmable dehumidistat, then demonstrated its features and operation for me The dehumidifier feature did not cooperate at first, but this was corrected when a CCC follow-up inspection occurred a few days later. All features of both units were checked out within two weeks of installation by CCC's specialists to insure that all systems operated as required. Following that, the city inspector checked out and signed off immediately. We're very pleased with the new products, as well as with the fast and very professional service provided by the CCC employees.
Description of Work: Company technicians removed our old air conditioner and air handler and installed a new 2 ton, 19 SEER system in its place, as well as a programmable dehumidistat in our bedroom.

Wonderful from start to finish. Two service techs (Billy & Josh) and Service Manager (Jayson) visited home to do work. All three were super professional and very knowledgeable. They were sensitive to financial constraints and went over and above to make sure that they fixed my air conditioner at a very reasonable cost to me. Over the course of almost 2 weeks (due to them having to obtain warrantied parts from the A.C. manufacturer) they stayed in contact to keep me up to date throughout. Billy, who did the initial evaluation on a Friday evening, even came back on Saturday morning to bring me a portable room air conditioner at no cost to me so that we could at least cool our family area to an acceptable temperature. As we have a 2-story house with all bedrooms on the second floor where heat rises to, you can imagine what a lifesaver it was to have that unit (especially with 3 small children and 2 large dogs having to endure almost 90 degree days). It has only been 3 weeks since the work was completed and my air conditioner was up and running, but I feel optimistic that the best possible work was done and I feel like I have found an air conditioning repair company that I can trust. Living in Florida, that is SO important. I highly recommend Certified Climate Control.

It took a few weeks to get an appointment that worked for both our schedules and there was no confirmation call before the day of the appointment. On the day of the appointment the technician called ahead and showed up right on time. Performed a complete ac system check. He was very thorough and professional. He had all the newest tools and equipment. It was a very satisfying service.

I scheduled a range of tentative appointments through Angie's List and received a call the same day from Jenny at Certified Climate Control (CCC) to confirm the exact appointment date and time for two days later, which was today, Friday October 24th. The appointment time was confirmed for a range between 8 am and 10 am. Josh called to let us know he was on the way and would arrive by 8:30 am. He actually arrived at 8:13 am. My husband and I were impressed by Josh's punctuality and professionalism. He put on shoe covers without being asked before entering our home. He performed a thorough check of our heating and air conditioning units, patiently answering all of our questions as he went along. He never made us feel as though we were annoying as we watched everything he did, including taking apart and putting back together certain parts, explaining everything. After he was done with his thorough examination, Josh provided us with a very detailed written system evaluation and estimate for repairs, explaining each paragraph. Although the cost of repairs were estimated to be close to $500, we have decided to follow Josh's expert opinion that our systems are extremely inefficient and too old (over 25 years) to waste money on to repair. He explained a few options and suggested that we have a CCC sales representative come out who could better (and in more detail) explain all of CCC's options available for a new HVAC system, including various HVAC brands, pricing, promotions, energy rebates, etc., inasmuch as that was not Josh's area of expertise. There was absolutely no pressure from Josh to purchase a new HVAC system from CCC. In fact, he invited us to contact other HVAC contractors to get a variety of new installation estimates. We will definitely shop around, but because of Josh's professionalism, patience and excellent customer service (which is hard to find these days), I am sure we will use CCC when we are ready to replace our entire HVAC system. Although Josh may not be the actual CCC installation representative when we are ready to buy, based upon our positive experience with Josh, we are confident that any employee of CCC would be just as pleasant to work with and professional. We would highly recommend CCC for any HVAC needs.

They were prompt, courteous and on time. Jason the service tech was knowledgable and very personable. He checked out all 3 systems we have even modifying a few things I did not call them for at no charge. We did have a leak that night and when I called Jason he promptly returned my call and showed up at 7: 00 am the next morning as promised. It turned out to be another issue from the other company that was not installed right. Jason fixed it even though it wasn't his mistake and didn't charge me a dime. Now that's what I call customer service. If you want a reputable, reliable, honest a/c company I would not hesitate to call these people.

My husband spoke with the provider to set up an appointment to repair our AC. Unfortunately, they could not come for two days. Since my husband suffers from COPD and we have oxygen in the house - we could not wait the extra days. I called the provider back to cancel... They were extremely helpful and understanding... trying to see if there was anything they could do to get a repairman earlier... Sadly, they couldn't... Even though we did not use their services at this time, I would still give them an A+...

Very professional and thorough checks. $50 from angies list coupon was a steal! Great work. The control board for a fan wasn't immediately available so they downtown to get part rather than accept delay for delivery. Extremely fair price for part and labor.

These folks were prompt, professional, and courteous. They had a little camera that went inside the hidden parts of the AC so they could show you what they were telling you they needed to do. They gave accurate estimates of their work, in fact I paid less than the original estimate by about ten dollars. They offered additional preventive services but were not at all pushy about it. I was extremely impressed with this company and the AC is working great!

I waited a year to make sure I was happy with the unit and service. The followup service without cost to me sold me that this is a honorable company that backs up their product. The owner David Hill, a great salesman and explainer to novice purchasers, and the service manager Jason Bowers were all about making the product perform at maximum performance and at the lowest monthly cost. I found this to be a great and honest company!

I have a service contract with Climate Control now. They're pretty good. They came out when I called them, I had an emergency. The guy was punctual and he checked everything. He checked the AC unit outside, inside, he ran and checked all the lines and everything. He was really good. He was very informative. He also checked my vents. They actually call me to remind me that I'm due for check-up. I think it's every six months that they come out and do a check-up.

We have lived in our home for 2 years and knew nothing about the history of our AC unit. Even though we weren't having problems, we decided to have it checked out. Called several companies and got prices from $49 to $79 for same service. Decided on CCC based on A ratings on Angie's list. Charles, the AC tech showed up 10 minutes late, but called to let me know this was the case. He was very polite, friendly and professional. Spent 2 hours inspecting our unit and we were pleased when he said that everything was in good working order for the 10 year age of the system. Did not try to up sell us or find problems where none existed. Very pleased with service.

I had to write this review as quickly as possible before I forgot. I found that my air conditioner wasn't working on a Wednesday evening and called Certified at 4:45 that day. I had never used them before but the reviews on Angie's list were good. The woman who spoke to me on the phone (Jennifer I think) was extremely pleasant and helpful. She was able to schedule me the next day for a repair with a two hour window late in the day. The repair technician, Charles, arrived at my house late in the scheduled timeframe, around 5:45. He was very polite and professional but the electrical problem in the unit was not easy to diagnose. He eventually figure out what was wrong and repaired the unit. What really impressed me was that it took him a long time to do this - ending at 10:30 that evening - and yet he never complained or gave any indication that he was going to give up (which I would have!). He was on the phone with his boss quite a bit who seemed very helpful. Charles is a gem and I wanted to give him kudos for his hard work and great attitude. I will definitely use this company again and would recommend them highly. For the amount of time that was spent and what had to be done I felt the price was very reasonable.

The Long Version The air conditioner wasn't cooling the house properly. Air was blowing but it was getting hotter. I noticed the fan on the condenser unit wasn't running and experimented with running the A/C for a while. I could get the fan to run but it wouldn't last. After running a while it would halt and then run only ten minutes at a time or not at all. The compressor still seemed to be running and was making noise though the fan was not running. I looked inside and noticed a dead lizard on some cables so I googled it and found some mentions of capacitor failure and so I was thinking maybe that was the problem. I couldn't access that area to do anything about it, though, since the unit cover is screwed on with those tiny flanged hex cap screws (I don't have the tool to unscrew that) and anyway I didn't want to mess with high voltage electrical stuff and stuff I wasn't that familiar with. Inside everything was fine. In the past, maybe a year or two ago, I had a blockage in the drain pipe (basically rust from the evaporator coil clogging up the drain pan and activating a cut-off switch that shuts down the system: thermostat goes blank) and I fixed that problem by pouring some bleach in the drain pan (should have used vinegar but oh well). So, I had familiarity enough to know that wasn't the problem here: the thermostat was still on and the system was still trying to cool, it was just failing. I had hoped that I could have someone come out and look at the condenser unit since that's where I thought the problem was and because my house was rather messy and I hadn't had a chance to clean it since I had been out of town. I had to call several companies on Angie's List before I could get a response and sometimes the companies wanted to run a credit check or charge me ~$90 just to come out (i.e. pay first). I wasn't very happy with the responsiveness, phone tag, and that sort of power tactic. However, I eventually found a company that was more pleasant to deal with and it would cost $79 but they weren't bullying me about paying up front or doing a credit check, so I gave them a shot. The first company (*NOT* the one I'm reviewing, just background) came out and the guy right away wanted to come inside my house. I was sort of annoyed with this since I had told the girl on the phone that the problem was with the unit outside and didn't want anyone to come into my messy house. But whatever if he can fix the problem in the end, that's all that matters, right? So, he did a rather thorough diagnostic of everything inside and outside (as far as I could tell). There are lots of probes and multimeter type devices, very much an electrical focus as opposed to a mechanical inspection, which, why not, I sort of figured my problem might be electrical. This technician did puncture a hole or two in the plaster shaft above the air handler/blower and I thought that was a bit weird to do without asking first but probably it's not a big deal (small hole). Unfortunately, the air conditioner worked fine for as long as he was there and none of his diagnostics could detect any sort of problem. I asked about the lizard and was told that could not be the problem and that the capacitor looked fine. The refrigerant looked fine. No problems. The temperature delta between intake and output was right, the house was cooling. Then, after he left and I had paid my $79, the house got down to around 83/84 (from 89+) and then slowly started getting hotter again, similar to the day when it first failed. I quickly suspected the fan since it was my initial theory and since he really didn't check the fan itself just the wiring and capacitor. Sure enough, the fan on the outside condenser unit was not running in tandem with the inside unit. I figured they should always be running together just sort of common sense. I did still hear a noise outside that I thought must have been the compressor unit. This does no good if it's just going to blow hot air and I read online that having the compressor run without the fan running to cool it off can fry the compressor and I didn't want to rack up more expenses than necessary here so I decided to turn it all off and just suffer the heat until I finally got the problem solved. So, I decided to try a second company (the one being reviewed here), Certified Climate. I didn't want to pay for emergency repair to have them out ASAP and opted to suffer the heat for three or four days. So, it's hard to say on Responsiveness or Punctual because I could have paid to have them come right away. I think "A" is appropriate since they did answer the phone right away and could have sent someone basically as soon as I wanted, I was just okay with waiting a few days. I don't recommend that for people at risk of heat stroke. In a lot of ways the service performed was very similar to the first company. The technician wanted to come inside first and do all the same sort of electrical probes and diagnostics. I wanted to say "don't bother" and explain about the prior technician but I didn't want to bias it so I just went with it. He asked at one point (I think when he saw the hole in the plaster) if I had it "tuned up" before and technically I hadn't, it was a diagnostic before, so I said no. I didn't want to bias it. The diagnostic was a bit different but mostly similar from what I could tell. The differences were that this technician tested some additional piece on the blower itself, didn't need to spend as much time inside, and wasn't able to diagnose the refrigerant charge (for legitimate reasons of humidity - conditions were different) with 100% certainty. Also, he re-used the hole in the plaster, plugging it when done. So, in a way this diagnosis also failed to find the problem, but I was insistent this time about the fan halting and explained it in enough detail that he said he could either do a quick fix of lubricating the fan bearings/bushings (which may not be a permanent solution) or replace the fan motor, but he'd let it be up to me. I was relatively confident from having gone through the whole diagnostic process before and having the fan fail later in the day, so I said to go ahead and replace the fan motor. Yes, it was expensive, but that was what needed to be done, in my opinion. The cost of the diagnostic would go toward the cost of the motor so that was nice. The fan motor was tough to get off but the technician had enough tools and tenacity to get it off. He remarked that it seemed wrong when taking it off - too hot or something. I'm not sure we'll ever really know what exactly was wrong with it, but I have a nice new one now. There are some wires that the new one has that had to be looped around the fan grate/shield (?) and the screws were a bit long and so it looks a little goofy from what it's probably supposed to look like, but it works and I don't really care that much about the aesthetics of my unit so long as it works. Maybe it's a minor risk that a landscape technician might somehow clip one of the exposed wires if he's careless, but I'm not too worried about that. The result is that my system now works, now that the fan motor was replaced. I was wrong about the lizard and the capacitor, but I was right that it was the outside unit, and specifically the fan, that was the problem. I had been thinking it might also have been refrigerant but it looks like that wasn't the problem and it definitely was the fan. The diagnostics were unfortunately not good enough to determine the problem. I sort of wish the companies would have taken my suggestions more seriously from the outset, but I can't complain too much because in an effort not to bias them too much I wasn't very insistent at first and let them do all the tests just in case. It was also a learning experience for me and I can't claim to have known the exact problem from the outset. The more the tests ruled out, the more confident I became, and so it was really a process of elimination. I can't even say the second company was better than the first because the diagnostic process was so similar in both cases and in both cases didn't quite find the problem. The difference was that I was more insistent the second time because I had gone through the process once before. The technicians were very knowledgeable in both cases and explained some details that I didn't have straight. For example, the fan does not run *completely* simultaneously with the inside unit and can take a while to kick on, so it's possible that some of my checking of it was just not accounting for a natural delay. Also, at least for my unit, I would probably not have fried my compressor even without the fan running because there is a shut-off mechanism once it reaches a certain temperature (unless that mechanism also fails). So, I was probably more careful than I needed to be in turning off the system when the fan wasn't running (though it does no good to blow hot air so it didn't matter either way). I think if my problem had been more normal, the diagnostics would have picked it up (lots of times it is the capacitor or the drain line). However, you should know that the normal (industry standard?) diagnostic process is not 100% thorough and may sometimes rely on accurate and relevant information from the customers. Even though I couldn't prove anything was wrong while they were there, I had to take a leap of faith and say "please fix this part that I think is bad". This is a good problem to have, by the way. The opposite problem is when people sell you things you don't need, replace what isn't broken, and so forth. There was none of that here. If anything, they were scientific and very prudent in recommendations. Good experience overall. Learned a lot. Would hire again. Tech was friendly and professional.

Charles Ambrose did a thorough and complete servicing of my air-conditioner. Their service includes many fine details and their feedback includes a long list of items that are fully explained to the homeowner. Each is item graded by the tech according to its condition. Charles was very helpful anytime I had a question or concern. He spent two hours going over every detail of my air-conditioner and each time I checked on how he was doing he willingly and openly explained everything he had found so far. I was so impressed with his honesty and openness and I felt I could trust his feedback. Even though my unit is old and had not been serviced in some time he found nothing essentially wrong that needed immediate attention. I will need to upgrade to a new unit in the near future and I will not hesitate to have this company do the work. I was so impressed that I signed a service agreement with them. Charles did an outstanding job and I am thankful to finally find a company that I can trust to take care of my air-conditioning needs.

I bought a $49 AC tune-up for my old AC unit. Josh did the service and he was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful in explaining me the reason that I would be better off replacing the old AC unit. 2 weeks later Greg White came to give me a free estimate for a new unit. Again, Greg was very courteous, knowledgeable and explain to me thoroughly the options they had that would better fit my budget. I had several quotes from different AC companies, and Certified Climate Control (CCC) not only was the most professional, but also had the best prices. After a major remodeling in my house, my old AC unit stopped working. I called Greg and he was kind enough to come to my house and get it working temporary just before they came to install the new AC unit. Greg didn't charge me anything to come to my house to fix the old unit. A week later, two technicians of Certified Climate Control, installed my new AC in less than a day. In addition. CCC send an installation supervisor 2 weeks later to check the installation and make sure everything was working properly. He also was very professional and informative. He installed a UV light in the AC unit and just charged for the UV light, not for the installation. Everyone that I have met or talked to from CCC has been very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. These traits reflect the culture of this company. Until now the unit is working great and I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a new AC unit or needs to find a reliable, excellent company to service their AC units.

I had them come out to do a tune up and had a previous issue of the a/c blower not turning on, they diagnosed that I needed a Blower relay. They fixed the issue and also went over some maintenance recommendations. They are coming back next week to do a blower pull and cleaning and they are also installing a UV light to kill the bacteria, algae etc. I signed up for there service plan which is an awesome deal and I would recommend it to anyone. It included my UV light for free and my yearly tune ups.
