Bobby was very prompt at the time of the appointment which I requested for an estimate. He took the measurements and got back to me almost immediately with a quote. Another company or two occupied literally hours of my time trying to high pressure a sale. The other company's high pressure made me back off selecting them. As it winds up, Bobby's pricing was even more competitive that the ones who insisted I sign on the dotted line before they would even give their estimate. Bobby was very responsive and his employees were all courteous and friendly and professional in their work. They were neat and cleaned up anything that remained after the installation. The hurricane shutters are top quality and having them lowered my home insurance cost. Bobby Andrade and Alufab has been one of the best home owner improvement companies that I have EVER had the pleasure of doing business with. I HIGHLY recommend using ALUFAB and Mr B obby Andrade whenever the need may arise to install hurricane shutters.

Installation started close to two weeks late, using rain as an excuse. When the installers did show up (late), they did not speak English and the younger of the two had a hangover. He slept in the truck for a couple of hours until he "felt better." They struggled to install the master bedroom window (took more than 4 hours), and when it was done, it was in crooked. It was past dark when they left so this was not discovered until a later date. Caulking was done hurriedly in an attempt to finish before 9pm. The next day, the caulking around the bathroom window had fallen out (there was a 1.5 inch gap between the window frame and the wall, completely stuffed with caulking), it looked like a big dead white snake hanging from the frame. I ended up fixing that myself-only I had the smarts enough to know to stuff something in there to help fill the gap. The screens did not fit, and blew off in a stiff breeze. There is still one missing. The egress windows leak, and there are scratches on the interior side of the bathroom window - which they originally tried to fix with silver paint (the windows are white). There is one window in the livingroom that cannot be opened (by man or beast). We had been promised the following on more than one occassion and by more than one service manager: They were going to replace all the loose screens, someone would be out to fix the scratches on the window, they would be out to clean up excess caulking that was left all over the window frames (inside and out) and sills. As far as the window in the livingroom, we were told, "That's because it's such a great fit - it's supposed to be that way." Now either the rest of the windows are not a great fit because they do open - or we were fed a line of bull... I am going with the latter. Needless to say, they were not going to fix that problem. I don't know what they plan(ned) to do about the egress windows leaking, that's because no one calls back. The last time I tried calling them, all I got every day for a month was a busy signal - all day every day. I tried getting help from Action Line, my local TV station and even filed a complaint with the government agency that handles these situations. It has been a while now and I have given up. My 85 year old mother is afraid she will lose the house in the event of a hurricane, when in fact these windows were purchased to help assuage her fears. I have never been so disgusted with any contractor as I am with them. It has been more than 2 years now... I have given up... I am exhausted. I would never wish these people on anyone.
