We hired them for about 6 months and they promised our grass was going to grow green again. We followed all of therir advices and pay them. The treatment didn t work. The grass is brown and we are going to have to re sod the grass. They didn t take responsibility. They will not give us a refund or re sod our grass

WARNING!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! After eight months of doing the lawn chemical services, one third of my lawn is dead, the weeds are growing and they have become non responsive and lie. They told me I was running my sprinklers every day when in fact I was running them twice a week. Never, I’m the 11 times they serviced the lawn did they inform me of any problems. Not a trustworthy company. Don’t waste your money. I will have to initiate legal action to recover my losses.

It did not go well. They came out and indicated that new sod should not be treated for 6 - 8 weeks after installation. They sprayed the rest of the lawn and resolved the chinch bugs, but the new sod had sod webworms and by the end of the first month, the new sod was pretty much dead and there was also a lot of damage to the rest of the lawn. I hired a different company who told me that new sod should be treated immediately to prevent this kind of problem. Due to this and the other problems I had with their Pest Bear co-company, I discontinued service. I cannot trust these people to know what they are doing. Read my Pest Bear review for other reasons to stay away.

Salesman Keith last week gave us an estimate saying monthly lawn and pest control would cost $90/mo. We got other estimates, then called him back early this week saying we wanted to sign up. Keith had not provided us with a full contract, and we reminded him that he had said he would send us one to look over. He took my email address and said he would PDF me the agreement to sign (which days later still has not happened!). When we agreed to sign up, Keith said he would have the company call to set a date for the first monthly service. When the office scheduler called soon after, they indicated pest control would start in February and lawn service in March. It was at that point that we were told they only do lawn OR pest service monthly, not BOTH as had been indicated by the salesman. We told the scheduler that we would not agree to sign up to get service on an alternating month basis since we'd been told by the salesman that we would be getting both each month. In fact, Keith had stated at the time of the estimate, "Other companies might come and pitch you lawn service on an every-other month basis, but you don't want that. The fertilizer chemicals don't last that long." We asked if rain would wash away the fertilizer and Keith said, "No, rain won't wash it away since the fertilizer is sprayed on. It's an all-liquid spray and rain won't wash it away." After the office talked with Keith, he called us and said he was sorry about the confusion, and told us we would be provided with the service we thought we were getting in the first place with both lawn & pest monthly for the $90 monthly fee. We had also been promised a free lawn aeration for signing up. Keith told us the aeration was scheduled for Thursday morning, adding, "It might be very early, but you don't have to be up." We got up at 6am because we wanted to make sure to speak with the LawnBear tech doing the aerating so he would know the exact property lines since they aren't clearly defined. Nobody showed up Thursday to aerate the lawn, so we called LawnBear. Perhaps it was a phone glitch, but the first time we tried the office, their automated system hung up on us. We then called salesman Keith. We told him nobody had come to aerate the lawn. He said he would check on it and get back to us. He called back almost immediately to say that plans had changed and that nobody was coming. He said it had been rescheduled for next week. He indicated that someone had tried to call us, but that when we didn't answer, they did not leave a message. Well, both of us have smart phones that show incoming calls even if no voicemail message is left, so that was either untrue, or the person supposedly calling us had dialed a wrong number. At this point, at 1:45 pm Thursday, we called LawnBear to speak with a manager or the owner. The receptionist ran through a list of managers, indicating we might want to speak with Office Manager Mayne, but he wasn't in Thursday. She said owner John is almost never available to take a call, but said we could speak with Assistant Manager Brad. She tried to ring for Brad, but after several minutes, we were connected with Operations Manager Tom who told us Brad was not available. We discussed each of the items mentioned above. Tom listened to my issues, then simply explained the lawn & pest program in great detail, adding that it is designed to be either lawn or pest service each month, not both. He also indicated that the lawn fertilizer they use in this program is granular so it will last for two months since it is "time-released". (Note that the salesman had said it was a monthly liquid spray.) As our frustration grew, Tom simply stated the company's policy, explained the plan, and said again that if we did sign up, it would be either lawn or pest service each month, not both. At that point we told him Keith had just told us he had talked with someone in the office and that we would be getting what we thought we had signed up for. Tom didn't seem to think that was possible. He also indicated that LawnBear uses one certain technician and that he had been sent to Sarasota/Bradenton to do a week's worth of aerating, so an aeration appointment should not have been set up for this week. As our frustration continued to build, we stated that we would either receive monthly service for lawn & pest, or we would be cancelling our agreement (which we still hadn't signed since nobody ever provided a service agreement!). We added that if this happened we would be writing a review on Angie's List to warn others about the lack of clarification in the lawn & pest program. We didn't want others to waste two weeks as we had done. Tom was offended by that statement and indicated he felt we were blackmailing the company. That was never the intent, but the lack of cooperation was so frustrating, we were hoping to get someone in this company to deliver what had been promised. Tom said he would get in touch with salesman Keith, and hung up after saying either he or Keith would call us within ten to fifteen minutes. Not surprisingly, neither Tom nor Keith called us back. At 5:15 pm, more than three hours after our conversation with Tom, we called the LawnBear office and cancelled our verbal agreement. We called back today (Friday) to try to speak with the Office Manager Mayne or perhaps the owner John. In much calmer fashion than Thursday's discussion with Tom, all of the above was discussed with Mayne to explain why they had lost our business. We also wanted to give them one last chance to offer the monthly service we thought we had signed up for. Instead, we received a "Sorry about the confusion" statement, and no willingness to deliver what had originally been promised. When we finally, in exasperation, told Mayne that we had no choice but to write a review on Angie's List so that others wouldn't waste two weeks being misled and frustrated. He said, "Okay, Buddy..." And we both hung up.
Description of Work: We signed up for the monthly lawn & pest control, but had to cancel when things promised to us were never delivered and terms changed.

We are very sorry that you had a bad experience. Unfortunately we do not offer services on the schedule that you are asking for. Misunderstandings do happen when there is not an agreement in writing showing a service schedule. Assuming how a program works sometimes leaves too many grey areas. We thank you for contacting our office for clarification and are apologetic for any misunderstanding.

Try calling them. They put you on hold, hold, hold. When the tech shows up it is someone who has not worked on the lawn before. When I ask about the treatment mix being applied, the tech says that the weed growing the best is not one in the mix to be treated that time. They are now in the re-sodding business and they re-sodded my neighbor's lawn -- Lawnbear has been back every day for a week and a half to fix the irrigation system that they messed up doing the re-sodding....

As a Floridian. I signed up for extermination et al the moment I moved into my new house. The folks at pestbear seemed to want my account so we went over the many things they do. I was quite impressed so I hired them. Now the problems begin. I have a dog who is severely allergic to one of the spray chemicals my former exterminator used so when I placed my original order I made sure to tell them to put it in bold, large letters that this is an animal safety issue. The backyard is the one place the dogs can run free so they agreed to use a granular product. First application I look at the tech and there is a spray in my backyard. I got that treatment free. Second time they sprayed again even though it was listed on the sheet not to. They paid the vet bills for my dog. Today for the third time in 10 months they sprayed my backyard. They do not listen to their customers and their techs are not trained to use the computer to see the special instructions. Pestbear is SOOOO fired!
Description of Work: I am being nice not giving an F. Phone responsiveness is all that saved them from a non-failing grade. Weed control, fertilizing, and all internal and outside pest control (tubes in the walls and termite bait traps)

Not good at all. I didn't get any response when they are going to help me. It took literally a month to respond to my issue. Despite all the problems i ran into, customer service insist that i pay for the remaining balance.
Description of Work: agree with the last comment. My lawn actually got worst and had some dead spots in my yard with plenty of dollar weeds and other weeds. They also stained the side of my house, mailbox, pavers, and Garage with the fertilizer sprays. I spent money getting them cleaned up and fixing my yard. I told them i am not spending the last $68.00 for poor service which I have to use that money to fix my yard. The company put me on collections for the balance.

**BEWARE CONSUMERS** -- Decided we did not want the service and called to cancel. (No contract signed). Was asked over and over and over again why we were cancelling. Nothing that they had done--just want to do pest control ourselves. Demanded that they had to stop by our home and sign cancellation paperwork. Told them NO -- contract not signed. Within 10 minutes they called again stating a supervisor would stop by the house. (Firmly said NO). Then District Manager calls and wants to know why we are cancelling. Told him just want to cancel. Nothing to do with them. After about 15 minutes of banter back and forth --HIGH PRESSURE SALES-- what can we do to keep you as a customer? (Keep in mind this is the third phone call we have received within 20 minutes asking the same question over and over again). Politely but firmly repeated my reasons for cancelling. Next day---received a voice mail demanding that we call them. Returned call and was told they had called us in error. Wow, we were hoping this was all over... WRONG! Received two more calls the following day asking why we cancelled. Just wanted to let you all know that trying to cancel with this company is exhausting. Please read the other online reviews on the internet about this company. Seems other consumers experienced the same dilemma when attempting to cancel service.

.My lawn is already looking better. Their prices were very reasonable. They charged $75. It was $50 for the lawn and $25 for the trees and the shrubs. They take care of fertilization and pests. The salesperson that I contacted spoke in a straightforward fashion. What he said actually happened, and I liked that. They deal with products that are not harmful to the environment. It is all natural, and I like that too.
Description of Work: I used Lawnbear last week for lawn fertilization and treatment. They take care of pests in the grass and the shrubs. Somebody had knocked on my door to see if they had signed up a neighbor of mine. I called them back a couple of weeks later to do an analysis on my grass because I was looking for somebody to do it. They did analysis and told me what their prices were. They have already done 2 applications over the last couple of months.
