Made a lot of promises they couldn't keep. We used this company for nearly 3 years. What a waste of time and money. They never repaired things that they said they would repair. They didn't respond to communication. They let our pool get green way too frequently. I am ashamed that I did not fire them long ago.

They showed up once and left without performing any services. They never cleaned my spa and never refunded my money. I get a request for payment from them every month even though I have emailed and requested them to stop. Poor service and poor customer service follow up.

Professional Poolcare of Ocoee provided weekly pool service for us for over a year. Our technician several times skipped a few weeks at a time promoting repeated over growth of algae and eventually surface staining. They also never treated the stains. Our lovely aqua blue pool now has ugly green blotches. They also charged us over $600 dollars for a propane heater repair. A week later the heater scooted up the side of our house and failed to be safe to operate. We have also learned recently that they left the line to the heater unattached creating a potentially explosive event. The technician also over brominated our pool on two seperate occassions causing us to have to partially drain and refill with about $150 in water charge each time. In addition the office staff seemed to bill us random amounts (although we had an automatic draft payment each month) and then was very rude about complaints about this. We experienced Professional Poolcare as very unprofessional, incompetent and rude.

It was a very negative experience. They were the most unprofessional pool company I have ever come across. They screwed everything up. We felt that they overcharged us as well. They ordered and charged us for parts that weren’t required. They made modifications to the system that weren’t necessary.

I'm not sure who wrote this report up for the member but he never expressed any thoughts like this to us himself. This "review" comes almost 4 months after we had been to his house. It is very troubling to see this report as our reputation all over the internet is quite the contrary. http://www.servicemagic.com/biz/professionalpoolcare http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=5712011603147136275 http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Professional.Pool.Care.407-492-7665 The member called and asked us to train his groundskeeper to take care of his pool. Since English was a second language for his caretaker this took much longer than it should have. We even had to rehash some points and correct some misaligned valves when we came back on another trip. Of course this extra time cost more than we would normally charge for a pool school but we only charged him for (1 Hour). I expressed that the member should just let us handle the pool and it would cost him less money and hassle than having the groundskeeper do it but that's what the member wanted done at the time. He also asked us to purchase chemicals that we sold to him at a cheaper price than you could get at Pinch-A-Penny or Leslie's. There were many problems out there that we addressed. First we did an annual filter tank cleaning (1 Hour) They had no clue when it was done last. The member wanted us to get to the bottom of a problem that they were having with no bubbles going to the spa. Pinch-A-Penny wanted to cut through the deck to "see about a hunch" and they gave him a proposal that made me drop my mouth (well over 3 grand.) We did some troubleshooting on the issue and this took some time (1 Hour). We log all of the service call hours in our system so that we know what to charge the customers and what to pay the employees. The member wasn't always there when we were performing work at his house. There were so many people and so much stuff going on at that house it would be tough to keep track of everything. The member's right hand man and pilot was the only person we dealt with that had half a clue out there. He was the one that called and asked us to take care of a screaming Polaris motor and we did just that (1 Hour). To say that we ordered and charged him for parts that weren't required is simply a lie. Pool School 1 hour, Annual Filter Tank Cleaning 1 hour, Troubleshooting 1 hour, Chemicals, and a Polaris motor replacement 1 hour, nothing else was charged to his account. Our labor rate at the time was $89.99 per hour which is well below the average going rate. The line "We felt that they overcharged us as well" is what leads me to believe that this was written up by someone other than the member. There is no wife so this must have been one his many staff members. In the end the groundskeeper's pool duties were taken away from him because the pool had algae and staining. When he received the statement the member's pilot informed me that he was upset at the service call charges and I told him to call me but he never did. We are professionals that have been serving central Florida for 18 years now. Many other pool companies trust and use us for service and repairs that they are unable to accommodate for their customers. If you have a problem with our services we will make things right and have an explanation for you. Please don't turn a blind eye, run away and post a garbage review later about our company. I am passionate about this because our reputation is what we've worked long and hard at earning. To have an untruthful review like this is just unacceptable.

Our salt chlorinator quit working after Christmas. I called PPC who sent someone out the Monday after Christmas. The repair guy looked at the system and said Pete, the owner, would call me later that day, but he never called. After not hearing from him for two days, I called him and he said we needed a new salt cell, which should be covered under warranty from the manufacturer. He said he thought he was an authorized repair provider for the manufacturer, and he would contact the mfg and let me know for certain. The manufacturer was closed that week, so he said he would contact them the following Monday. After not hearing from Pete (again) the following Monday, I called him on Tuesday. He said he had been in touch with the manufacturer and would have an answer for me by 4:00 that day. I never heard back from Pete, so I called him again on Wednesday, and he said he was completing the paperwork with the manufacturer and that he would install the cell. On Friday, after again not hearing anything from Pete, I called and left a voice mail for him to tell me the status. He never called back again, so I left another voice mail on Monday at 10am telling him if I had not heard from him by 1pm Monday, I would call another company. In the meantime I called the manufacturer who said PPC is not an authorized warranty repair company. I know this company has some good reviews, but my experience was not good at all, and I would not recommend them. Pete never once returned any of my calls, instead making me call him every time, and then always making promises but never following up or through. In the end, he never called me back. If he could not do the work, he should have just told me so instead of making me waste two weeks chasing after him. I had another company out who IS an authorized repair center. The salt cell was not the problem as PPC had said. It was my main computer board. This was confirmed by the manufacturer.
Description of Work: We called them because we were getting an error message from our pool's automation readout.

My company had signed up with the Member's salt system manufacturer a long time ago. Unbeknownst to me this was only to sell their products and to claim rewards for those sales. Once I found out that I was not in their system as an authorized service provider I called the local rep. He was not available until the next week and at that time he sent me some paperwork to fill out. I sent that paperwork back in and waited. Unfortunately at this point it was out of my hands. I told the Member I had sent in the paperwork and they would send me the salt cell once I was approved as a service provider. As a repair company we have a standard testing procedure that we go through in order to get your equipment properly repaired. My service tech determined that he was getting readings from the cell on the board that was pointing to a bad cell. What we would have done is replaced the cell and retest. If we still had bad results, the board would have been switched and the system retested. Many times in this instance the cell would have been the culprit. It just so happens that the board was instead. We would have returned the salt cell and just charged the customer for the board of course. It has been very frustrating dealing with this manufacturer as they have told me that after waiting for 3 weeks that they are saturated with service companies in this area. I have since spoke with my local rep and he is trying to get me in there to some capacity because we service approximately 400 homes here in the Orlando area weekly. Unfortunately, because this had to do with me dealing with the manufacturer this experience was tedious and less than desirable. We never changed out any equipment and I never charged the Member for anything.

GREAT experience! After noticing that my pool pump wasn't pumping correctly, I called several pool service companies to have a representative come out as soon as possible. I had just gotten my pool from a dark, swampy green to crystal clear water, so I did not want to have to leave my pump off for several days and have my pool turn green again. After calling several companies and being told that the soonest they could look at it was a couple of days later, I called Professional Poolcare and they had a representative (Jason) out within the hour! Jason was prompt, courteous, and professional. He quickly discovered and showed me what the problem was (clogged impeller), corrected the problem, and offered practical, sound advice for keeping the problem from occurring again. He put everything back together and made sure it was running correctly, and my pump works better than it ever has! He eagerly answered all my questions and never tried to sell me something I didn't need. All I paid for was the service call, and all billing and payment is done online on their website after the fact. I will use this company again without hesitation the next time I need pool repair service!
Description of Work: I requested an at-home service call to determine why my pool pump wasn't pumping correctly.
