+ -1 moreSomeone came in to give us a bid and it was lower then another community contraction company. We started with it and it seems it took for ever to get started. He was able to get part of it done and but we received a call from the community saying that we did not have a permit to do contractions work and we were threatened to get sued. The flooring that was laid down would squeak and pop all over the place and we ended up hiring someone else to drill little holes to get it fixed. I was just poor job and took forever. It was a bad experience.

+ -1 moreAt the present we are thinking of installing a solar hot water system with a system that keeps water hot throughout the house. We are also thinking of a solar system to supply about 1/2 of our energy useage. The companies name is Solar Trek, Inc. in Ocala, Fl. Do you have any reports form people on them:? Description of Work: We had Slack Construction convert our lanai to a part of the house. It entails creating a closet, doing block brick, carpentry, flooring, windows and a door. They also raised the floor to match our existing floor. We had several problems. The first was they started the job without a permit, someone told the county, and they were forced to stop. During Slacks visit they requested some documentation on the layout and the only thing we had was the floor plan created by our developer, On Top Of The World. They apparently just handed it over to the county who rejected it and because it had a copyright the developer hired a lawyer and threatened to sue us. Our contact person told us he had 25 years experience and everything would be fine. We asked Slack to answer for us but they refused and we had to hire our own atty. I was able to talk to the GM of OTOW and had the matter dropped. Slack took forever to complete the job which in most part was fine. The wood floor squeaked like mad and they sent someone over to drill holes and inject some material. At first it seemed to resolve but within a few months it was squeaking again. They refused to do anything. So its hard to know who they hired to do the flooring. Our overall experience with Slack was very low. The Floor people tried but then Slack cut them off. It will cost us 700 to have someone come in and try again.
