I will never call Sears again! Yes the man was on time. Yes the man had a plan. But, the cost was unbelievable and the guy was rude. He even asked me out for drinks and said the "F" word repeatedly. I was going to call Sears and complain, but the guy looked like he needed a job. He was from NY...what can you say.
Description of Work: I had just bought a short sale house and was concerned about the A/C unit. I knew that replace it would be expensive due to new government standards. I called Sears because I have a credit card with them and they are a respectable company.

They made an appointment in one of those 4 hour windows. They came within the window on the day that they had promised. The repairman was very knowledgeable and efficient. We were very satisfied with it. We didn’t have to pay anything because it was under warranty.
Description of Work: We used Sears because we had a warranty issue with our microwave.

Sorry--I included the story with the description of service above (i.e. outlet sale).
Description of Work: I bought a cooktop at a reduced, outlet price; the price was good. But I was seriously misled about what was included in my purchase and about the nature of the year's guarantee I thought I was being given, about what was required for the installation process. Throughout the 2 weeks dealing with the problem, my calls and requests and were either not answered, kept on hold (once for an hour before I hung up), or answered incorrectly and inconsistently. I was misled about delivery, installation, nature of the guarantee (e.g. the phrase "as is" was never used until after I got the cooktop and complained about the missing parts.) Worst of all, there were 2 wrong parts. One was missing altogether ; I was told that the part wasn't part of my guarantee because it was "cosmetic"--but that's not true; it is needed for insulation, i.e. not what I'd call cosmetic. The other part was simply the wrong part. My installer, who is the one who saw it was wrong, took it back to the Outlet and was told, "No, it's correct"--although the installer again said it wasn't. When I finally reached the store, I too was told that the part was the right part. After I threatened to complain, they said they'd send a new part the next day. Three days later, the same wrong part arrived in the mail. In addition, none of the regular Sears Outlet services that I tried to reach--e.g. installation and delivery--had me listed as having purchased a Sears cooktop. I'm afraid this means that they won't recognize the year's guarantee of parts-replacement that I ws told came with the purchase. I have never had such a bad experience in all my years of dealing with sales and services. I've now been two weeks without a cooktop. At this point I have spent enough money and equivalent time trying to get the cooktop set up to more than cover what would have been the regular, non-outlet price. These people are untrained and unprofessional at the lower levels and purposefully misleading and evasive on the mid-level (which was the highest I got too.) It was an awful experience.

When we decided on a refrigerator, we gave them dimensions so that it would fit. They delivered it here and it did not fit. They wanted me to remove one of my cabinets so that it would. I said no so they told me to go to the store and pick another one. We specifically told them what side to put the hedges on and they put it wrong side so I had to stand in the laundry room to open it. I had to call multiple stores to get someone to help me. Then finally we got the right one. It was very disappointing experience. I also had a bad experience buying a microwave from them.
