Provider arrived 15 minutes early - did not call first, which was okay. It was next day service (which I had not requested as a rush but he said he was available and the next day would be good for him, so I said fine.) I would have cancelled that morning as I felt I was coming down with flu, but did not want to inconvenience provider. Put hose through front bedroom window and did replace screen, but scratched paint on screen frame replacing it. Cleaned carpet satisfactorily, but did not move furniture. Only bed and one nightstand in room (planning to sell home) and told him there was a bed and nightstand (on rollers) in room before requesting service. Provider said this was not a problem, but only used hose under bed, did not bother to move nightstand (again on rollers) and I had unplugged lamp for his convenience, to facilitate moving furniture. He said there was a "block under bed" so he did not move it. Though I've packed nearly all my belongings may have missed a few books under the bed. When he filled two 5-gallon buckets with water in bathroom I asked if the carpet would be wet and he said no. After he left I wanted to go check bathroom to see if there was any water on floor and the first step into bedroom noticed the floor was very damp - not wet or squishy, but definitely left my bare foot wet and he had already left. I called immediately to ask how long it would take to dry and he said 5 hours. He said I should have a ceiling fan in the room for carpet to dry. He also left the window open (probably to help with the drying process, but today is overcast, I'm hoping it doesn't rain in the next 5 hours as I didn't plan to enter that room until it dries, but will need something in closet, so must walk on very damp carpet. Did not realize it would take most of the day for carpet to dry. Even using a steamer from grocery store the carpet has not been that wet. It does smell fresh and looks clean (not that it looked dirty or had any spots), so that is satisfactory. In retrospect I should have just rented a steamer at the grocery myself for less and done the same or a better job, or called a major carpet cleaning service even it cost a bit more. Would definitely NOT recommend this provider to anyone else.
Description of Work: Cleaned a 18x24 foot bedroom carpet. Carpet did not have any stains, pet stains, etc. Had been stretched a few days prior.
