Florida Southwest Vanlines Inc

Contracted this company through Worldwide Vanlines who wouldn't honor their contract. This company did show up as scheduled and delivered within accepted time. The owner arrived with his crew to deliver and demanded the remainder of the money before anything was unloaded. He was rude and very unprofessional. The inventory manifest was deliberately written to confuse. Each table loaded was listed as table whether it was a dining room table or end table. The stickers they put on everything to cross-reference against the log were mostly gone by the time the furniture was unloaded so it was impossible to track. Because we packed ourselves, all of our labels and identifiers were ignored. Boxes clearly labeled in red "Fragile" were dumped upside-down and boxes marked "Do Not Crush" were crushed. Everything but the furniture, including about 150 boxes, were left outside in the heat for us to bring in the house. The furniture was placed in the specified rooms, but not in place. They emptied the truck as fast as they could and left before the job was finished. BUT, the main thing is that they left Kansas with an antique dining room table and couldn't find it when they got here. How can that happen? I have filed a claim form but will be very surprised if I get any more than $.60 per pound. It was worth approximately $5,000.
