Description of Work: They are a very honest and compassionate company.They moved us and stored some of our furniture. Hard workers, dependable and extremely honest. I would recommend this company to anyone. They will be bringing our furniture to our new home and I look forward to using them again.

Description of Work: They moved my daughters things to Atlanta. They were very efficient and accommodating. Things went very well on both ends. They arrived at the agreed upon times and everything arrived without damage

Description of Work: "Owner came to residence and gave me a good estimate and was very professional at that time. |Owner arrived at my home on time to start (I was the one not quite ready) and he and helper loaded items in truck. I admit I was not watching them load my boxes and furniture as I was still doing last minute packing. I did ask that certain items not be packed until last and that was not done. It did get very un-organized at the end and items I wanted to take didn't get loaded (not ""enough room/time"" as it was getting late). That was partly my fault as it got later than was anticipated for completion of loading. |Delivery was supposed to be around 2-3 pm the next day. Truck had a mechanical problem that caused a delay, but got repaired and so was understandably late. They called for directions as planned, but it seemed like they did not stop to write down those directions; they got lost several times. Owner (who was with the truck) got angrier and more upset over being lost and started yelling and screaming at me on the phone. I finally told him I wouldn't talk to him any more and gave the phone to a friend who calmly told him again how to get to house. Her husband even walked down the hill 2 blocks to guide them in. And when they finally saw the road and the person waving at them from the intersection, they didn't even stop to see if he needed a ride back up the hill to the house. They just barreled on by. |When they did get to house, the owner was very irate and brisk and kept complaining about where they got lost and the problems I gave them re directions. He just kept on and on. It was horrible. |There were problems with dents in my washer and dryer and a deep dent in my freezer, a broken leg on a table, some broken dishes (not found before they left) and my mattress and box springs were both soaking wet on the bottom where they had been laying on the edge as packed. There was no apology, no sense of anything done wrong -- owner just wanted his $ so they could get out of there. |I had paid half up front and owed the rest at completion. I did pay the full amount owed, but wish now that I had not. I had planned to give them a tip if the owner had been the least apologetic about his yelling and cursing at me on the phone or about the damage to my things. He was too upset to talk to at the time. His helper tried to smooth things over, but the owner just made it worse. |What started out as great service turned into a horrible fiasco. And there was no need for it to have happened. I understand the owner was upset about the truck breaking down, being late, and then getting lost, but it could have been smoothed over at the end by some calmness and civility. "

Description of Work: Affordable Moving USA took a pre-packed, pre-wrapped household effects shipment from an Ocala, FL storage unit to another storage unit in Alexandria, VA. I was under a deadline and dealing with a hostile recipient at the destination.

Description of Work: The secretary called us one day before the move to change one of the two consecutive Datesasked to have the owner call me that day,to discuss a price to remove our shed contents from the contract. He never called me back until I called him again on the morning of the move and left word on his answering machine that I was very unhappy about the inconvenience caused by the last minute change and his lack of response to my call. I also said I was reconsidering using him if he didn't call me. He finally called me 15 minutes before he was to start the move and told my wife I was rude. I had just returned from an errand and took the phone. He said he never entered the shed and would have to do another estimate instead. My shed was on his contract. He then said "I'm not going to do your move find someone else. Have a nice day! Very unprofessional

Description of Work: 60 heavy boxes from storage up two flights of stairs to 3rd floor

Description of Work: Moved furrniture and boxes from one house to another. Also picked up a desk and delivered it from a store.

Description of Work: I used Affordable Moving and Lawn Care to move and unpack a mower van.
