A Clear-Water Pool Service INC

We retained this company for several years to maintain the pool at our vacation home. The last few times I visited the home, I was not able to use the pool since it was not maintained, my last two visits I found no chlorine in the pool, it was filthy and full of debris, dead insects, centipedes etc. I contacted the owner Randy who promptly returned my call. I asked him to correct broken equipment that was not reported to us (pop up cleaners missing/broken on the floor of the pool), he agreed to repair the pop ups, but failed to do so. I found broken plastic pieces of plastic from the pop ups in the pool pump strainer during my last visit- I was disappointed that the person "maintaining" the pool did not take the initiative to remove the broken pieces from the pump strainer to prevent damage to the pool pump. I also observed that the pool pump timer had been manually switched on leaving the pool pump running all of the time (this explained the sudden spike in the electric bill- roughly $100 extra per month). I found that the timer for the pump had broken and needed to be replaced, unfortunately the person "maintaining" the pool failed to notify us of the problem, he also failed to notify us that the metal bracket holding the pool pump timer had rusted through, this issue could have been repaired easily if we had been notified before it rusted through. I would have gladly have paid to have these items repaired but no one cared to report the problems. Lastly when we terminated the service we requested that the key to the pool lanai be dropped off, the key was never returned.

We arrived at our home in early November. While we were still in NY we THOUGHT our pool was being serviced. The pool had a green tint and looked horrible. During the course of our first week here, the person arrived, saw our cars parked in the driveway - he made NO attempt to introduce himself. We had to chase him down and introduce ourselves. He did his thing and disappeared after 5 minutes. We immediately called and complained about him and also why the red/green salt indicator lights were flashing. We later found out they were adding Chlorine to a Salt Water pool - he should have know what type of pool we have and be able to read the indicators correctly. We called again and they sent ROB - great guy, professional and knows his stuff. He explained many details on operating the pool. He stepped up and provided service for us because HE felt bad. Rob came back and followed up when he said he would be here. In the course of 1 WEEK he added 7 bags of salt as the levels were low and not being maintained. The green tint was gone and the pool looked great. We called yet again and requested Rob to be our service person and was told no that he handled business accounts. After speaking to Randy's wife and after we provided her with the details of our experience she said she would apply 2 months of credit to our account. She was pleasant and said that is not how we run our business. This is week 3 of NO service or phone call until this morning (12/3) and Randy informed us that none of his staff wants to service our account he was canceling our service. He was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND MADE NO ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE OUR ISSUE AND HUNG UP. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

It was little difficult for me to work with them because I had to leave messages on voice mail every time I called and they called me back. He thought it was sensor and it turned out not to be the sensor and then I had to order a pump and they had to order a new pump and then he came back and solved the problem for me. He wasn't like perfect but I think price was pretty reasonable. I would probably use him in the future.

We needed a new vinyl pool liner. Randy came to our home to measure and show us pictures of previous jobs. He was very cordial and seemed to know what he was talking about. This was Feb 7, 2013. He said to give him a week and he would get back to us with an estimate. On 2/19/13, about 1 and 1/2 weeks later, having not heard from him, I called and left a message. As of 5:14 PM on 2/20 he has not returned my call.

He's very reliable and I can count on him to answer the phone. He's very intellegent and is an effective and honest businessman. He knows what he's doing.
