+ -1 moreAs usual, we are thrilled with the kitchen job. Appolo is prompt, efficient and an excellent time manager and pays attention to even the smallest detail. We did not need a total kitchen remodel but needed cosmetic upgrades and Appolo was so helpful by providing us with options. We did not need new cabinets as the ones we had were fine. We changed out appliances, purchased pre-assembled countertops, new lighting, new cove ceiling, new paint job and ...We are thrilled as our kitchen looks totally different and we did not spend the 15 grand the big box stores said it would cost. Thanks again Appolo for a job well done.
Description of Work: Removed and installed new pre-assembled countertops in kitchen. Removed and installed new composite sink and new faucet. Painted kitchen and breakfast nook. Removed old kitchen light fixtures (2) and created a cove type ceiling when old large fixture removed and changed to LED lighting. Removed old stove, dishwasher and range hood and installed new.

+ -1 moreWe called Apollo about job, he came out the next day to price the job and within several days, worked us into his schedule. His estimate was more that fair, in our opinion. He and Tito came out Monday 0n 6-29 and worked all day to tear out old columns and drywall surrounding firebox. Then the new drywall was put in and taped and plastered. The work was meticulously done, with clean-up afterward. They returned Tues- the 30th and sanded the plaster , then clean -up. Apollo and his crew are the nicest of people to work with, and their work is done properly the first time. I highly recommend them for any of your needs---as he can do a lot of skilled work. I will call them first for any of our needs. Wonderful company---!!

+ 0 moreI originally had Apollo and Tito come out to remove the security bars from all the windows. He fit me into his schedule quickly because my insurance was going to cancel me soon if they weren't removed quickly. I really appreciate his understanding, quick phone call back, professionalism, and hard work. He came prepared and was able to remove all the bars completely and patched the areas smooth. They left everything clean and I was very happy with the results. The price was reasonable and he gave me an estimate about more work I wanted done. I like that he had a business card for me and gave me a written estimate that day. I had Apollo and Tito back out yesterday and today to remove a weird hot tub room enclosure (it's a 1980's house). They worked very hard with few breaks both hot days. They removed and disposed of the hot tub, three cement walls and the cement foundation, leaving the area clean. They are not condescending and do good work, which is a surprisingly hard combination to find. I would definitely recommend A-1 Handyman Services and will be having him out again soon.
Description of Work: Removed security bars from all windows on the house. Came out another time to remove cinderblock hot tub enclosure, hot tub, and cement foundation underneath the hot tub room.

+ 4 moreI am so happy with the results - everything exceeded my expectations! Everything went according to schedule and there were no surprises. The entire process was necessarily spread out over several days but Apollo kept in touch with me the entire time, letting me know how everything was going. When his crew arrived he introduced them to me and told me exactly what would be happening. The work was completed with a level of care and professionalism that just blew me away and my house looks BETTER than it did when it was new. I could not be more pleased and I will definitely be keeping Apollo on speed-dial for future jobs! I would recommend his services to anyone without hesitation.

Description of Work: Apollo installed new 600 watt low voltage lighting transformer and ran (dug in the ground) approximately 80 feet of 12/2 wire. He also installed two LED floodlights. Apollo provided enough underground lighting, so that if I want to add more flood lights I can and the transformer will also support more lighting.He also installed a new paper holder in the bathroom.

+ 3 moreApollo and his sidekick were on time. They picked up the door that I ordered at Lowe's with other items that they would need for the door. Did the install of the door and all the other items with no problem. They light in the garage stopped working after he left. I ordered a new light and Apollo came and took down the broken one and installed a new one at no charge. He is very precise and will constantly ask if this is the way you want things. I simply love this guy. He will be recommended to all of my neighbors. I just hope that he doesn't get so busy that I can't get him.
Description of Work: Installed 3 sets of bath lights, ceiling fan, garage service door, garage light and new eyeball lights in kitchen.

He work ethics and quality of his work is super. I will be using his services again when I need things to get done in my home. Since I was in the process of moving I left him a set of keys and when I got there all was done exactly as he told me it would be. I would recommend Apollo Rodriguez and his services since he is trustworthy and his quality of work is good if you can be flexible with your time scheduled and punctuality. Just giving a followed up on my review unfortunetly Apollo did not pick up the chairs and patio table he told me he would as agreed.On Monday April 20th I paid him cash and he told me he would stop by the next day to pick them up since it was raining. I informed him he must pick them next day tuesday as construction of the fence was commencing on wednesday. He told me he would but when i came back last friday to inspect the fence construction and too meet Apollo for a new job of installing 4 doggi gates, the old patio chairs and table left behind by the old tenant were still there Apollo never picked them up. I sent a text message to Apollo to see if he could stop by this tuesday 4/28/15 to pick them up but never responded. I still think Apollo does a good job but I think he may get over booked. Apollo also agreed with he will up on Friday April 24th at 4 p.m to place 4 doggie gates, ( this was a new order not included on the price or work above ) but he never showed. I waited for him until 5:30 before driving back 4 hours to my home since I am moving. I called him and he told me he could not make it because he had too much work but if I wanted I could leave him the keys.I declined to leave my keys. I have left him the keys prior and he showed up a day early to complete the work without my knowledge and it created a few small issues for me to resolved but in the end it worked out. I am disappointed because the removal of the ld patio furniture and the installation of the doggie doors was very important to me. I need them ready before moving in with my dogs which of course didnt happened complicating things regarding living access for the dogs in my home and so forth. I feel if Apollo made a commitment to show up on Friday he should have or at least give a call letting me know he got to busy to do my small work instated of having me waiting and me having to call him. Overall Apollo is a good person with a good heart, Because of this issues I am changing my review, I still think Apollo its trustworthy and does a good job once he shows up. ALthough I am not sure if I will use him again, I still recommend his services to Angie's List members if you can be flexible with your time table just in case he gets over book. I am happy with the work Apollo did complete.
Description of Work: Change the locks on 3 doors, replaced blinds in patio door, add two handles to slide doors, replaced blinds on bedroom, seal edges of shower floor, switch dryer door to open on left direction, removed old patio furniture left by prior tenats, check diswasher which is not working. Cost of service was $280 plus cost of materials for a total of $629.19 Apollo went and shop all need it to complete the work since I did have the time to do so.

We asked him for advice on what did, and did not, need to be done. He gave an unvarnished opinion, cutting himself out of some repairs he deemed unnecessary. His crew was also polite and professional, we even got a piano serenade one day by one of the crew on his break! We felt Apollo gave us good value for our money, and would hire him again.
Description of Work: Many smaller jobs needed to prepare home to sell, including some patching, some painting interior and exterior, replace electrical fixtures, cleaning outdoor lights, tweaking locks to operate more smoothly, regrouting, resealing,replacing smoke detectors, tightening doorknobs and towel hooks, replacing weather stripping,closet shelf repair, etc.

He came in to troubleshoot the problem and was able to find the solution and fix the problem. He is,as many reviews have said, an amazing individual and looks beyond the "business only mentality". Would I recommend him? Yes, absolutely. He patiently explained the problems to my elderly mother, and amazingly enough sent me a copy of the bill with a copy of her check to reassure me that the service was paid for and he did this by the phone via text. Wow! What a concept, using technology and having the instant reassurance that the job was satisfactorily completed. My mother was absolutely pleased by his service and demeanor. At the end he thanked my mother and blessed her.....:) Nice guys and he deserves A+++++++ In addition, I live in Boca Raton and he was able to coordinate all of this via phone and worked the job in Ocala.

+ 4 moreI had to have some repair work to rotted wood siding and have the house painted. I got quotes and decided on A-1 Handyman due to the fact that the price was good and they could do the whole job. The painting contractors offered referrals for the wood work. The work included pressure cleaning the house, caulking all doors and windows, replacing some damaged T1-11 siding, replacing some window and door molding, adding molding to one door and painting entire house - 2 colors/2 coats. They arrived promptly at 9 a.m. each day of the job. The work was excellent and everything was cleaned up and back in order when they were finished. I cannot say enough about Apollo, Chris and Mike. They were professional, accommodating and very personable. I am confident that I will be seeing more of them in the future.

Description of Work: we had no elecricity in our family room and none of the circuits had been tripped. Mr. Rodriguez came out and was able to determine that an outlet just outside of the family room was the culprit...........he discovered that the outlet which feeds to the other outlets in the room, had been "arcing" for some time........eventually we could have had a fire. Apollo replace the outlet and we have him booked to come back to provide more services in our house.

He arrived on time and due to Delta faucets sending me the wrong part, I held him up and he was late for his next appt. after me. He was very humble and polite and told me not to worry about it. He is very exact, professional and likes perfection in his work. Sounds like he has become overwhelmed and wants to be able to respond to all his customers in a timely manner but he is extremely busy which I can understand. It is hard to find a good and honest person to trust. He may not respond right away but don't give up he will get there and do a remarkable job.

He came out promptly for the estimate and took care of the shower quickly and came a few days later to correct our gutter problem problem. It was causing water to enter our new lanai as the water was not draining properly during rain. The 3 downspouts were installed and all is well. Another great job done by Appolo. We are grateful to him for his integrity.
Description of Work: Appolo's services were needed again as a few tiles in the master bath had become loose after I removed the shower doors. Also needed 3 new gutter downspouts installed .

We are keeping them on speed dial for all the other things we want to get done to our house once we move in. Side Note: we just bought a house that is quite large and built in the early 80's if that gives you other prospective customers and idea of what this company was working with environment wise.
Description of Work: Exterior Trim & Door Painting (With time consuming sanding and surface prep) Removed old hinges and door knobs from all doors in the house (We have a large house so this was a lot of doors) Installed new hinges and door knobs to replace the old ones removed Installed a new kitchen faucet in a very tight under counter space that would have caused some people to give up installing a new faucet Installed new 6 new bathroom faucets and removed the old ones for us Changed all exterior and interior light bulbs (Even difficult to reach ones in our outside landscaping areas) Removed old recessed light fixtures in the kitchen ceiling and installed new ones Installed a new kitchen dining table pendant light (Even changed it back to the old one when we decided we didn't like the new one) Helped identify spots on the roof eves that were shingled incorrectly causing water accumulation and mold growth, and fixed the roof to stop future issues with improper moisture accumulation. Installed a sturdy anchor to hang a very large mirror Removed unnecessary electrical outlets, and patched smooth the remaining holes in the walls Removed and replaced water damaged ceiling areas in outside patio areas prior to repainting Caulked wide cracks between the corners or ceiling moulding in places that had settled improperly over the years Sealed cracks between floorboards and stair tops with tinted wood filler to avoid dirt accumulation Created custom wood piece to help seal our attic storage area door perfectly Removed old outdoor driveway and pool patio lighting fixtures, and then replaced them with new fixtures (Even changed some of them a few times as we changed our mind about the style) Dug electrical trenches from the house a long way to our driveway brick entry posts to discover why outdoor lighting fixtures were not turning on (They even noted that the previous wiring had been installed (by an electrician we hired) without a protective covering, which A-1 fixed for us), A-1 fixed these electrical issues for us and had even been very careful to cut the sod in such a way that it could be laid back over the trench they had dug. Created custom shelving for our pool house to hold an outdoor sound system Installed the outdoor sound system and wired it Created outdoor wall outlets with proper covers which they then dug electrical trenches from out into our yard so they could run electricity far from the house to power heavy duty bug zappers, which they dug posts for and attractively installed for us Installed a new mailbox and removed the old one Cleaned out our overgrown algae covered fountain in the garden As a bonus they showed me some of the best ways to match paint, lent me their paint swatch books, and were always incredibly kind with their advice about how I could do things as affordably and correctly as possible for the things I prefered to do myself (Like decorative interior painting etc...) They warned us when another contractor we had building a fence was doing a shoddy job, which permitted us to find a new company half way through that project to complete our fence. (A-1 was already quite booked or I bet they would have also done a great job with the fence)

+ 1 moreFirst he showed up when promised, great start. After hearing my extra requirements he quoted a fair price and said he could do the right away which was fine with me. Apollo and Mike started right in and for three fourths of a day did not stop. I had to have holes cut out for dryer vent pipe as mine goes up the back wall and out the roof and they got it right. Then the stand up cabinet had to have a base built around the water heater pan to support it and sit above the pan. They did an outstanding job and made my wife happy which works for me.
Description of Work: Hung four wall cabinets and one large stand up cabinet in laundry room.
