I recently hired 50 Shades of Color Ocala, FL to re-stain my log sided mobile home. They were extremely unprofessional and did an awfully bad job. An employee named JC was sent out on the first day of the project to cover and tape the windows. The windows were left that way for over a week and a half due to weather issues. When I expressed concern, I was told by the company that the tape would not leave residue on the windowpanes since the tape had a 14-day guarantee. Once the tape was finally removed on 9/23 the tape residue could be clearly seen on several of the windowpanes. JC was also the employee who purchased the wood putty. The putty was a light tan in color, and I was worried it would show through the stain. JC told me the putty was stainable and would be completely covered when the house was complete. JC filled approx..100 spots (many more than was necessary) that are now showing through the stain making the house look like it has polka dots. The three employees who showed up the following week had no ladders with them. I offered to lend them my 6’ and 8’ ladders. They thanked me by getting stain all over my ladders and taking my 6’ ladder with them when they left. I contacted them immediately, it took 6 days and several calls/texts to get my ladder back. Many droplets of stain were dripped on the front sidewalk and concrete deco trim. There are marks and drips of stain on the white porch ceiling trim. There is also stain on the deck and stair railings. I purchased 5 boards of 4X8 Cedar trim. The agreement was the old trim around both the back and front door would be removed, the new trim would be measured, cut, and stained before replacing the trim around the doors. I paid an extra $175.00 for the labor. Their employee Mark measured and cut the new trim way to short. Their employee Christian stained the trim and pieced it together around the back door. It looks terrible. There are many unstained areas around the house including window/trim and above the front door. There are a lot of patchy and lighter spots around the home. Four different methods were used to complete the job. One of those methods was a spray gun used by their employee Bo. It was obvious he did not know how to use it. He sprayed about 2 ½ gallons of stain on the right side of the house making it much darker than the rest. He also sprayed vertical lines which are darker and clearly visible. One of the employee's confided in me that he had a criminal record and had spent two years in prison due to drug charges. I was even threatened by one of the owner's (he threatened to put me in a headlock). Toward the end of the nightmare project I asked for the little amount of remaining stain and the same owner said he would only give it to me if I gave him a good review online. So, I said what he wanted to hear to get the remaining stain (not even a gallon). I had already purchased 6 gallons of stain myself for the project. I will never hire this company again and hope this review helps others to avoid a similar experience.

Horrible experience I don't know who is writing the positive reviews but not my experience at all. Very unprofessional conversations and workers smoking marijuana on my back porch and working until 10:30 at night. My home is only 1300 sq ft it took them 4 days and the job is still not complete. Wish I had not paid the invoice in ** until completed. Chalk this up to expensive lesson learned.. DO NOT HIRE is my advise.
