Bison Roofing & Solar

I strongly urge anyone considering Bison Roofing and Solar to steer clear. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. Background: In 2016, I contracted Bison Roofing and Solar to install a new roof and solar panels. I was assured that the roof would be covered by a 10-year warranty and the solar panels by a 25-year warranty. Unfortunately, we are now facing leaks from either the roof or the solar panels. Despite numerous attempts to address these issues, the company's responses have been unhelpful. My efforts to get timely repairs have been met with excuses and a lack of follow-through. Recent Developments: During a recent conversation with Teddy Long from the company, I learned that the current entity operating under the Bison name is only nominally related to the original company that completed my installation. It seems my original contract cannot be located due to a change in ownership. This has led to confusion and further delays in addressing the warranty issues. Historical Issues: This is not the first time I’ve had trouble with Bison Roofing and Solar. In 2017, I experienced a major leak in two bedrooms caused by the solar panels. The resolution process was agonizingly slow. Initially, the company sent a salesperson instead of a qualified technician, and I was later informed that Bison no longer worked with the subcontractor responsible for the solar panels due to prior issues with their work. Current Situation: Despite numerous follow-ups and assurances from representatives including Vita, Katherine, and Hugo, the promised resolutions have not been fulfilled. The warranty information from the time of installation has not been honored, leaving me with a leaky roof and no support from the company. I initially chose Bison Roofing and Solar based on positive reviews, but my experience has been far from satisfactory. It seems the company’s ethical standards and business practices have significantly deteriorated, leaving me with a substandard product and unresolved issues. I want to ensure other consumers are aware of these potential pitfalls when dealing with this company.

We are very happy with our solar system. Steven was amazing. We loved how honest he was with us from the beginning. He gave solid suggestions and we felt he actually cared about getting us the best deal. We would use this company again.

I was in the market to purchase a new roof for my mom's house. I chose Bison, mostly because of their reputation, as their price was higher than others, I figured pay more for quality and peace of mind. However, we were duped. Comparing to the other reviews here, we must have just been unlucky with the staff we got. It started with many lies and miscommunications from their salesperson, Michael Ricci. After the delays, we still moved forward but requested not to have to deal with Michael anymore as he just says what sounds good, but not what is true. First let me start off by saying that this is an old house, and we are aware that unexpected situations may occur that lead to more expenses, especially once the tear off of the old roof begins as that's the only way to find out. For example, begin tear off to find rotted wood that needs to be replaced. Totally understandable and we were prepared for that. There's the main roof (sloped) and 2 add-ons, the laundry room and garage, both with flat roofs. Both the garage and laundry room had leaks, the main roof had no leaks, but was old, so figured it would be best to just go with a completely brand new roof instead of repairing the leaking areas. Before the job began, Bison sent Clay Thomas to do an inspection. At least 2 other staff from Bison had also been to the house. No issues. Ready to start, so they said. As soon as they begin tearing off the garage roof, one of the staff walked inside and notice the beams across the ceiling and how they connect to the wall and said the structure is dangerous and they must stop the work. The area in question is very visible, nothing hiding it. So there's NO EXCUSE that this didn't come up during the inspection. They refused to continue working on the garage roof, telling us we need a general contractor and left left the garage roof now more damaged and leaking in more places than before. Absolute negligence on their part. Why? Because they knew this would delay, postpone, or cancel the job. The proceeded with doing the rest of the house. The sloped roof seems fine so far. However the new roof on the laundry room is now leaking worse than it was before. Water got in to the ceiling light and burnt out the electrical line, not just the light. They said they would send an electrician and never did. And they are not honoring the warranty. A brand new roof shouldn't be having leaks the same week the job was "completed." Now, my mom and grandmother are without light in the laundry room since October. I'm very limited on how much I can help as I'm living in Australia. After the back and forth about the garage, they seemed to have just did a rush job on the rest of the house. They left a mess. They broke the gate on the side of the house, along with part of our pavers and concrete dividers in the front yard when they pulled their truck up to the house over the yard instead of using the driveway. These just a few of the minor issues. The main issues are the negligent inspection which lead to an even more damaged garage roof and a new roof on the laundry room that has been leaking since day one. They have horrible communication, even the owner Elie clearly does not care as I've emailed him several times just for him to ignore us. Completely unprofessional. Instead of replying and trying working things out to try to come to a mutually acceptable resolution, they had a lawyer contact us. Our lawyer responded, and guess what. Their lawyer ignored us too, just like Elie. Seems to be the common theme around there. They have no accountability and take no responsibility in their actions, and have no interest in making things right or honoring the warranty. I had no intentions of not paying them. I tried to do something nice for my mother and it has been an absolute nightmare. There were many more issues. I will be posting online more details along w/ pictures soon. If you hire Bison, make sure to avoid Michael Ricci & Clay Thomas. You might have a better experience. But, expect delays and to be ignored once they deem the job as finished.

We lucked out on picking Bison roofing and Solar company to install our new roof. We appreciate the detailed explanation from Michael Ricci and all the follow up questions ,to Luis who supervised the step by step process. We like punctuality and respect very clean work . All in all ,we picked the right company and the price was almost 5k lower. Thank you crew and we will refer you to anyone we know.

Sales rep Tony Zambrowski was Incredible! The company was responsive and fast. Stayed on top of everything till the end, and even took our questions and needs after the project wrapped. The end result looks badass!

Bison roofing and solar took my solar panels down, put on a new roof, and put my solar panels back up for me. They started the project a week early and had it done in no time. I am very happy with how this project turned out.

Bison came to us at our church. He had done some work at my home so I recommended him to the church. The experience was horrendous. While in the meeting, he claimed to be a family man and to want to fellowship with us. But when the work began he sang a different tune. The workmanship was the worst I’ve ever seen. We had leaks all over the place. In the sanctuary over the piano, in the pews. The fellowship hall. Sunday school room was so bad. We ended up with black mold and had to remove the entire ceiling. The shady insurance company that they had put us through years of litigation. We just now got through with just enough money to repair the damage that he did. By far the worst roofing company I have ever dealt with. no conscience no remorse. After claiming to want to be our brother and to help us serve this community.

Bison Roofing and Solar did my Roof and Solar project. My bill is down over 300 a month. I recommend Keith my account manager and Bison to anyone looking for a wonderful experience.
