I was referred to Gulf Atlantic by a friend who has contracted their services for his various properties. They promptly returned my call & asked me to forward the measurement description from my insurance company and a front & back photo of the home since we reside over 110 miles from their office & upon reviewing it contacted me by telephone & gave me a quote based on the adjusters measurement (if) being correct. The cost was much higher then my insurance company was allowing. They told me they do not compete with the low prices that insurance companies give & to tell my insurance company that they should do the roof for me if that's what they think they could have our roof done for. I already had one other estimate which was $2,000.00 less then Gulf Atlantic and could not get other companies to return my call or those that did never showed up for appointment. The one who was less gave me a minimum start time of 12 weeks. Gulf Atlantic promised me a start time of 4-5 weeks weather permitting & told me the tile I chose can take upward of 25 weeks to be loaded on the roof, which I was told by the other company as well. I contracted with Gulf Atlantic based on the referral & fact that they gave a longer guarantee that was transferable to a new homeowner. They started the job in 3 1/2 weeks from signed contract, arrived with a 25 men + crew, completed everything smoothly over 2 weeks, acquired all inspections with in another 2 1/2 weeks & 15 weeks later my tile was loaded on the roof, & 5 days later the tile setting crew arrived to complete the job. everything turned out nice & the strong words of advice that they gave me to deal with my insurance company paid off as upon forwarding my contract, canceled checks, final inspection, & copy of complaint letter that I was told to file with the state insurance commission, a supervisor authorized the difference of funds to me from their initial allowance.

The job was excellent & completed when promised. I could not find a local contractor to do the work, they all told me it would be a 1-2 year waiting period. Gulf Atlantic came all the way up from Miami and gave me a 4-6 week scheduling time. In addition, they performed the work to Dade County code standards which were superior to St. Lucie requirements. My neighbors were shocked to see it completed in faster time then they could even get other contractors to return their calls.
