Decorating of the first house went reasonably well and the final product came out looking good. One problem encountered was that the originally selected paint colors looked horrible and the house needed to be entirely repainted at a cost of $7,000. The design and decorating of the second house turned into a fiasco. The builder was having management and financial problems and the design work and guidance provided by NorthSouth was of insufficient detail and quality to insure an acceptable finial product. The end result was a house renovation that needs to be substantially redone. All the "custom" cabinetry was poorly designed and constructed and needs to be replaced. Expensive interior glass partitions were really designed for outdoor use and installed in a way that doesn't make any sense. In terms of time and cost, the poor design and construction ultimately resulted in a job that needs to be replaced, with over a year delay, and an additional cost of over $150,000 to replace shoddy design and construction. I strongly recommend against using Elyse and NorthSouth for any substantial design or architectural work. She does a decent job of selecting furniture providing the client is involved along the way.
