+ -1 moreDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Rip off artists! Initial quote was almost 2k for two metal panels, plywood, felt, and labor. When area was explored, all that was needed was the replacement of one metal panel! A $600 job AT THE MOST! We were charged for labor, parts not used, etc. Dishonest and just GREEDY AND BAD BUSINESS! We had to call them numerous times for an estimate - nobody seemed to want to even return our call or take responsibility for making a decision. The person who came out to do the repair brought the wrong panel. Several days later they brought the right sized panel and put it in. Took less than half an hour to get the panel off and on. When I did get a call about the estimate, they stood firm on only reducing the bill by one panel and an additional symbolic amount. I was not pleased, but agreed to pay. They had us over a barrel - as they will to you. Be warned!

+ -1 moreQuality workmanship and completed home roof replacement within a few days. Overall cleanup of large debris was excellent, however there were some negatives to our experience. 1st, the roll off container for the debris still sits in my driveway, 6 days after the work was completed. Have called, daily, multiple times each day, to get an ETA of container removal, and only get the answering service, during office hours. They take a message and promise a return call, yet no responses from company as of this review. 2nd, workers left cigarette butts and food waste in my yard, for me to clean up. 3rd and, in my opinion, the unprofessional of all of it, is the small debris, especially screws, nails, sharp pieces of scrap metal scattered throughout my property. Unacceptable to return home, after work was completed and crew gone, to find all this debris. Would like to safely use my driveway, walk my property, and have my dogs run freely, without fear of injury, which already happened twice, during my personal cleanup of the debris. Workmanship, superior customer service, and accountability. They only came through on workmanship, which is what I recommend them for; be prepared for the hassle with the rest of it.

+ -1 moreThis company does half or full day engagements, where you can prioritize work goals and they will get as much done as they can in 8 hours for a flat rate. I used a full day to get some dead trees removed, underbrush cleared, and some other trees trimmed or removed as time permitted. Johnson and Son's came out at about 8:30 AM and by noon had the majority of my priority work complete. Altogether they cleared out a very overgrown (10+ year of neglect) back yard and removed every tree I was concerned about, as well as some other pines that I just didn't want to have anymore. I was happy to write the check and would definitely use these guys again for similar work. Price listed here is their full day rate as of the date of this writing.

+ -1 moreWhat can I say, they were excellent! Everything was done to specs and the result was beautiful. May be slightly more than others, but well worth it.
Description of Work: Mac Johnson Roofing did a new metal roof on my concrete barn. I had them also take down one overhang and replace about 100 sheets of plywood due to delinquency of previous owners.

+ 0 morePrompt, courteous estimate. Estimates varied from $13,500 to $8,300. Went with Mac Johnson as we wanted to keep the cost down but have a good job too. They replaced rood down the street & seemed to have done an excellent job. Not disappointed with them on ours. They pulled all the permits, came promptly when they said they would. Completed basically in a day. Cleaned up well. Looks really good. Could not have been more pleased. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

+ -1 moreAs is the case with roofing in Florida, the project was delayed something around two weeks due to unfortunate weather. I suppose the project could have been scheduled to account for this but I don't consider it to be all that bad in the long run. Weather happens, I've got no beef with that. Once they got started, progress was fast. They arrived early and got right to work with a crew of about 10. The crew broke for lunch but returned to work with full vigor. As is typical in FL, a downpour began at about 2:30pm. They sufficiently tarped the entire roof roof and opted to return the following day (the fourth of July.) The crew arrived 30 minutes early on the fourth of July and got right to work. The foreman walked around the roof with me and pointed out all the relevant bits of interest. I was impressed to find that they were also shimming/leveling all the perlins before attaching the metal. Day 2 went by quick and they were gone before noon. Site cleanup was immaculate. I have not found a SINGLE piece of waste or debris in my yard-- whatsoever! The finished product looks absolutely superb. I couldn't be more pleased. I was also pleased to discover that they didn't try to nickle-and-dime me for any additional labor, carpentry, or anything else. My final bill was precisely in line with the estimate prepared for me.
Description of Work: Installed metal roofing atop old rolled roofing. I had them place bubble-wrap insulation between the old and new roofs as well. On top of the insulation, they attached perlins to which they attached the metal.

+ -1 moreThey were very prompt and got the job done quickly. It was a very steep roof and they got it done in one day. They got the color I wanted and some roof drains. They also said that they'd replace up to three pieces of rotting wood with no charge. This was still done the day they did the roof. They put the edge on correctly and capped it. They're very detail oriented and their work is great.

+ -1 moreThe $$ was not 0.00- I am just not willing to write $$ down. However, it was within the different bids and we found it acceptable.
Description of Work: The house had a roof replaced in 2011 - fascia boards and soffets were replaced, painting. Other than roof replacement the other items were through sub contractors. We were not happy with some of the subs - Mac J. 's workers were careful and did not unduly destroy the surrounding plants, etc. Cleaned up their work. We had the roof replaced after the hail storm in 2012. Mac Johnson did this also.So, all in all we found Mac Johnson roofing to be reliable and good work.

Description of Work: Do not hire this company. I started with them in April and here it is mid August and I still do not have a roof. After the first estimate I agreed to hire them. I was told I would a roof in two weeks. I signed and returned the contract on June 1 and did not hear from them. On July 1 I called. Chris came out on July 4 and remeasured and I signed the consent to commence and gave him a check for $3300. Once again two weeks to complete. Heard nothing. End of July I start leaving messages for Chris and he would not return my calls. I finally called the office and spoke to Mac? He said they would be out the next week or certainly in two weeks. Got the same promise from Chris the next day. He said he would put job on the top of the stack. Two weeks have passed and no roof, no call. I just hope I can get my deposit back, so I can move on and find a more reliable company. Since April I have had two leaks that should never have happened. X I was determined to get this company to fulfill the terms of the contract. So now four and a half months from my first contact I now have a new roof and skylights. It took 9 days to complete including weekends. Constant hammering. They took 2 hour lunches and quit at 5, although there was plenty of daylight left. They tramped all over my front garden. This was unnecessary since taking a step either right or left they could have avoided damaging the platings. They were all over. Looks llike. a herd of angry bison came through . I now have deep ruts in my lawn from the dumpster. Roof looks good to the untrained eye.

+ -1 moreMr. Cox came out after I called, and gave me an estimate. The repairmen came soon after, but were rained out the first time. They came back the next day and finished the job in 2 hours. They explained what they were doing, and cleaned up after.
Description of Work: I had a problem where the roof of my house met the carport. Water was getting in behind the shingles and rotting the wood of the carport. I had had a "handyman" install flashing and replace the rotten wood previously, but it didn't last 6 months. I called this company because they installed my roof 8 years ago, and they took all the shingles off, replaced the rotten wood, installed larger flashing, and replaced all the shingles.

We had a problem with the rain and they were very prompt in getting the job done. There was a little problem of a little leak afterwards, but as soon as they were told, they came and they fixed it. Their price was reasonable. The quality was very good.

When the manager came out for the final inspection, I pointed out a concern with one of the panel and they fixed it immediately.
