RJ Kielty Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Inc

As I said previously R. J Kielty did not provide any service the day they came to my house. They did not have the equipment to check for the leak and gave me a phone number for someone else to find the actually leak. When he came he did find the problem but could not fix it. I had to hire a third person to fix my problem.

Upon making contact in the morning, they said someone would be out between 1 and 5 that same day. The plumber arrived at 1:30. He immediately assessed the situation and explained what needed to be done as well as what the cost would be. I felt it was a fair price especially since the clogged toilet needed to be taken out to address the problem. He went right to work and finished in a timely manner answering any questions I had along the way. From the phone contact to the quality of the work performed, I was completely satisfied and would definitely use them again.

The technican was polite and he keep exactly what he was doing. He cleaned up the area when he finished and took the old faucet away. I thought enough about their work that I will hire them again.

I had a hot water leak in my bathtub that has very old plumbing. Based on reviews on Angie's List, I chose R.J. Kielty to do the repairs. James M and Steve M gave me a few options and after I chose the one I wanted they made the repairs. It took them less than an hour and the leak was gone. They showed me the parts as they removed them so I could see the damage that existed. They, also, showed me the replacement parts. Very professional, personable, and caring men. I will definitely ask for them for any future projects I have.

I thought the price was a little high; when he was here I asked if he could tighten the shower nozzle in the bathroom and he charged me $50. It was so, so. I wasn't happy with some of the things they did and I probably wouldn't use them again.

The second visit was phenomenal. The first visit they had to go back and get the proper stuff. It was a simple mistake but otherwise I have no complaints about the work or the attitude.

The gentleman that came fixed that, and I also asked him while he was here if he could fix the two toilets. The plumbing needed replaced on them. He did that, but when he left he seemed to be in a rush to get to another customer. When he fixed the toilets, he installed two flappers that did not fit. Thus, the toilet kept leaking, and the tank was only half full. I kept hearing a leaking noise, as it was leaking down through the pipe system. I called the people back, and they sent someone else out. The next technician lied to me. He blamed the issue on the humidity. He went away, and I went out to Ace Hardware by myself. I bought two new flappers, and fixed the leaking toilet all by myself.

I had to get my things out of my "foreclosure" house before the bank took my house. The plumber arrived at the same time as the workers and myself did and went right inside to evaluate both bathrooms, neither of which were working. When he was done, he came out into the garage and explained everything that was wrong in each bathroom. He also gave me estimates to fix each bathroom. Of course, I went for the fix that was the quickest and cheapest. With all of the hectic things I had to deal with that day, I had forgotten the $20 off coupon; however, the plumber had one with him that he applied to the bill. He fixed the bathroom without delay. I paid him and we went about doing our work without having to run to the gas station around the corner. This company and plumber were great to deal with during very trying times for me and I am most appreciative of this fact. I am definitely turning to them for some work I need done in the home I am living in now. I would recommend this company to everybody. It was a difficult day for me, but the repair of the toilet was the pleasant and great thing that happened that day!

Here are the facts in a timeline format: Fri, 4/20 - Service call was scheduled with RJ Kielty (RJK) at my boss' home. Mon, 4/23 - Tech was 20 minutes late. Service call was completed. Two toilets repaired and bidet parts are to be ordered today (estimated delivery date is 2 about wks)Tues, 4/24 - Called RJK back informing one of the toilets is still broken. I was informed tech will contact me today to schedule another service call. Tech never called.Wed, 4/25 - Called RJK back informing tech didn't call yesterday. I was informed tech is out of office and will call me back on 4/26.Thur, 4/26 - Tech never called.Fri, 4/27 - Called RJK back informing tech didn't call yesterday. They said they would instruct him to call me. Tech called midday. He informed me the bidet parts have not been ordered yet (I'll have to wait an additional week to receive them now). He said he'd call me back before 5:00 to schedule service on the still-broken toilet and confirm the bidet part order. Tech never called.Mon, 4/30 - Called RJK back informing tech didn't call on Fri and requested new tech. Service with new tech was scheduled for tomorrow.Tues, 5/1 - Met with new tech. He said he would research the bidet parts and could locally obtain the toilet part. He called me that evening informing me he is still trying to find the bidet parts and will follow up tomorrow.Wed, 5/2 - Tech never called.Thur, 5/3 - Tech never called.Fri, 5/4 - Called and spoke to RJK service manager. Upon my request, he agreed to 1) credit me my $310 cost (should post within 48 hrs); 2) said he'd call to confirm the credit has been issued; and 3) would mail back the bidet part they took.Tues, 5/8 - Called and requested proof of credit. They faxed me an $85 credit. I called them back insisting on a full credit per my discussion with the service manager (I didn't think this was unreasonable considering 2 of the 3 fixtures were still broken and had received very poor customer service). The service manager very rudely informed me a full credit would be issued and "he doesn't understand how people like me take advantage of companies who work so hard". Wed, 5/9 - Proof of credit never received.Thur, 5/10 - Called RJK inquiring about balance of credit and was informed it was issued on 5/9. I requested a faxed copy which I never received.Nearly 2 weeks lapses without word from them....Mon, 5/21 - I logged on to the credit card website used for payment confirming the additional credit was not issued as promised. Charge is being disputed.Today is 5/24 and I've never received the bidet part they promised to mail me. NOTE: I have belonged to Angie's List for several years and frequently use services from this site. I am a professional person and expected professionalism from a company rated so well on Angie's. RJ Kielty was ABSOLUTELY the worst service I have hired. They offered zero follow through, no customer service, little professionalism, and treated me as if I were a thorn in their side. If someone an associate or friend asked me for a recommendation on RJK, I would try very hard to dissuade them from hiring this company.

I previously gave a bad review because of damage to my countertop during installation, as well as some services not being performed, such as not removing the big bulky water heater cardboard box, and the general unresponsiveness and evasiveness of the installer . Since then, another person at Kielty named Sean, called me to find out what happened and to see if he could rectify the situation. He tried but was unable to find someone to repair the formica and therefore reimbursed me $150. Sean also told me that the employee that did the damage had issues at other homes he visited and has since been let go. Sean apologized, was very responsive and I believe I will give this company another chance in the future.

-This is a job I could have done on my own EXCEPT I didn't have a special cartrirge extractor tool. The company DID have the tool. That why they're in the plumbing business and I'm not.

They seemed like they had reasonable prices, but by the time they came out, I already had the work performed.

Made appointment online received call next day appt. set for 8am next day. Tech. arrived on time did installation . Went with less horse power model due to cost. No complaints about service other than price. They were up front on price before work was done no surprises.

The work was fine, but it was very pricey. I thought it was way over-priced.

They’re very good. They’re prompt, courteous, and do what they said they will do. I’m happy with their services.

I have a problem because I have to call someone else to come fix it. They did not put the correct pipes in for the system. They tried to tell me it was a problem with the water softener, but have sense found out that is working perfectly fine. Before this time I had always had a good experience, but unfortunately I will not use them again.
