I thought they did a great job cleaning the roof. They took care making sure the chlorine didn't streak my house or harm my landscaping. That said I still had about three - four plants die. But over all, that is a small number.

Hi [Member Name Removed], I wish you had let me know. I would have gladly replaced the plants. I remember it being very windy that day. Regards, Steve Rakoczy

Awful. Instead of doing the soft wash from the ground, he got up on our roof (wearing heavy boots). We went through the entire summer and never had any signs of a leak until after he got up on the roof. We now have a sagging, discolored ceiling (from leaking water) and cracked tiles on our damaged roof. He has refused to file a claim or take responsibility even though it is very evident what happened
Description of Work: We hired him to do a "soft wash" on our tile roof as well as various other small jobs

Response from Great White Pressure Washing
Upon meeting with [member name removed], I explained to them, as I do with all my customers, the process we use to do a Soft Wash Roof Cleaning (no pressure) chemical treatment on their roof to properly clean it: one man on the roof spraying chemical and one man on the ground to keep the plants wet. That is the way I and all other roof cleaning companies do it UNLESS the pitch of the roof is too steep to walk. We discussed the process and the $1,100 cost (not $2,500 as stated in the reviews) up front, and [member name removed] watched from the ground the entire process. At no point did [member name removed] instruct us not to get on the roof. Upon completion, his algae-ridden roof was clean as new and [member name removed] stated how happy he was and what a great job I did doing it. The roof was in extremely bad shape to start, but I was extremely pleased with the result and it seemed the customer was as well. I have never cleaned a roof that I did not see some broken tiles prior to starting the job. Some roofs have as much as 50+ tiles that are visibly broken yet the roof does not leak because they are strictly cosmetic. As a professional roof cleaner, I have a lot of experience in how to walk a tile roof without breaking tiles. There were several severe rains immediately after we had performed the job, but it was not until a month after completing the job that I got a call stating that their Original roof of 20 years had a leak. I called them as soon as I received their message and gave them my insurance info. (Roe Ins.) including my agents name and phone number. I explained to the [member name removed] that they would need to file a claim with their insurance company who would come out to inspect the roof and determine if the leak was a result of the job or due to the age and decay of the old roof. After having their insurance company inspect the roof, it was determined Great White was not at fault otherwise they would have filed a claim with Roe Ins. When we completed the job [member name removed] thanked us, paid us cash and offered us a beer, which we declined. I feel that I was on time, responsive, professional, and polite throughout this whole process and was very happy with the result. I can understand that having a leak is a frustrating situation, but I am always happy to take responsibility and cooperate on any issues my customers have—just like we did with this customer. We have a lot of ‘A’ reviews on Angie’s List, and we take our reputation and the experience of our customers very seriously. Please call us if you have any questions or for additional info about this scenario. Update 1/27: What Mr. (Member name removed) fails to understand is that the majority of roofs we clean have visibly cracked tiles. I take photos of the cracked tiles so that I am not wrongfully accused by a customer as Mr.& Mrs. (Member name removed) is attempting to do. I've seen roofs with as many as 50+ broken tiles and their roof was cleaned to the customers liking and it did not leak. Mr. (Member name removed) told me he used to paint his own house, therefore he had to get up on the tile roof to paint his chimney. The day after we cleaned his roof he asked what I was going to do to fix his chimney. It badly needs paint! Mrs. (Member name removed) asked if I would take another company's Angies List coupon for the work I did. He asked me to clean his gutters and I did. He said wow they look great again, but did not pay me for additional work. The (Member name removed) want someone to buy them a new roof to replace the ORIGINAL Roof of 20 years! We used 150 gallons of roof cleaning solution to clean his dirty roof. Why is there no evidence of the chlorine mix ending up in his house? Why would my company be responsible for a roof that did not leak after it rained one week after the initial roof cleaning? It leaked nearly 30 days later after getting continuous rain for two straight days. Tile roofs are not guaranteed not to leak for the life of the house. They eventually go bad and do leak, that is the time when most homeowners replace them. I have never dealt with this kind of customer EVER. He has never contacted me after I gave him all my Liability Insurance information. There is no case and my insurance company has not received a call from him since. They, off course, could not prove Great White did anything wrong. Mr. (Member name removed) watched every second I spent up on his roof. We cleaned a 1.6 Million dollar houses roof today (see photos below) and it had broken tiles everywhere. Homeowner told me they were extremely happy with the results! Broken tiles do not mean the roof leaks, it's what is under that is most crucial. We will be cleaning a 9000 sq foot 2 Million dollar home tomorrow for a famous baseball player. We will see broken tiles, that's a given, but we do NOT break them. We are professionals who know exactly how to walk a tile roof.

I recently called Great White Pressure Washing to give me an estimate on some home projects that needed attention for my property in Palm Harbor, FL: roof cleaning, chemically treated and pressure washing of house, driveway, sidewalk, pool cage, pavers and a pvc fence. The owner, Steve, showed up at the appointed time and gave us the estimate. Hard to find these days! Steve explained that his company also did paver sealing. One company to do it all! My pavers look better than when they were first installed. I love the new "wet look." The quoted price was agreed upon, and they started work soon after. I was concerned about my plants being damaged from the roof cleaning, but Steve took great care in covering and rinsing down my plants. Nothing was damaged. My roof looks like it is brand new, my house looks like it was freshly painted, and everything else came out perfect! It is difficult to find a ?Quality Company? that did it right. Thank you Great White Pressure Washing!

My husband saw a sign on the road for Great White Pressure Washing. Even though the company was not on Angie's list, I added it to my list of companies to get a quote. I called Steve at Great White Pressure Washing to get a quote on doing the cleaning, sanding and re-sealing of my driveway and walkway pavers. It had been many years since these areas were sealed. They had lost most of the sand and were covered with stains, weeds and had mold in the cracks between the pavers. Steve visited the property, thoroughly explained his procedures and gave me a written quote. I called Steve back a few days later and we scheduled the work to be done at 10:00 a.m. a few days later. Steve called when he was on his way and arrived at 9:30 a.m. with another worker. It is so rare to have a contractor show up on time and Great White was early. I was pleasantly surprised. They pressure washed and power steam cleaned the pavers to remove stains, dirt and mold. Next they put it a lot of sand and cleared off the excess. Next two coats of sealer were applied. The job took most of the day. I was surprised they were finished so quickly with the amount of weeds and mold I had in the pavers. Even though it is over 15 years old, the driveway looks nearly new with all the cracks filled with sand and sealed in solid with the sealer applications. I am very pleased with the result. Steve was not the lowest bidder, but I was so impressed with his professionalism and promptness that I chose Great White Pressure Washing. My husband and I are both business owners and appreciate how a well run business operates. I did not find Great White Pressure Washing on Angie's List as they were not signed up as yet even though he has enjoyed many years of successful business operations. I am delighted to be the first to review this fine company.
