Electric Quest

Electric Quest was called for an estimate on the of a 30 amp breakerat about $300. Tried to replace panel and charge @$1200 and then changing prices when my (older) husband said no. Tried to browbeat my husband, and demanded $97 fee for estimate. $97 was agreed to as PART OF A $300 repair...not the nonsense they came up with. Threatened him and threatened "tape recording" which I asked them to play for me. I see on BBB review the exact same scam was used on another elderly person. To add insult to injury, they did not even know the requirements for a 30 amp. breaker. I stopped payment on check

They said my emergency was my problem as they had another emergency to deal with!

My original electrical issue has not been resolved & we are awaiting estimates from other companies. I was originally told jobs are a flat fee & that 2 people would do our job. When the electrical issue could not be resolved I was told the job would be charged on an hourly basis. On the day we were scheduled only 1 employee was there for the majority of the day & the second one showed up for a couple of hours. The job was not completed in 8 hours & they had to come back on Saturday. Again the same employee came out - he was fine. The problem is that the office was over scheduling the only 2 guys that do electrical work. I was also told they don't have their actual licenses but that they're covered under the company's contractor license. I selected this company because of the BBB rating however overall I would give them a B-/C+ rating. They are expensive and the office should schedule them appropriately. However, the employee (John) that did the majority of the work was personable and very clean in the areas he worked. They charge an initial fee for a service call but they apply it to any work getting done.

He was very upfront, on time, and explained everything to me and how it would work. He was very professional.
