About everything that they could do wrong they did do wrong. Ordered wrong color copings twice!!!. Dirt tracked up and down my street. Which I continually swept up. bobcat equipment broke a line and leaked oil for 75ft in front of my neighbors house marking up our street. My pool contractor showed up on the weekend with his crew to lay steel rebar in pool. I was very concerned about my personal liability as he had his own young boys down in the hole walking around tying off sharp steel rebar. I felt this was very dangerous and unprofessional. My pool is far from being completed. much of the tile and all of the coppings must be chipped back off. I am very frustrated. I am retired and able to watch the work as it is happening. If I was at work all day. I probably would not know about all the major mistakes as they would be covered up by tile and copings. This pool contractor is in no way trying to build quality. He hires the cheapest sub contractors and they have all individually made many major mistakes that I have now have to live with.....or tear it all out and start over. Detailed photos documenting all the above statements and mistakes on my pool are available. Im at four months of construction now with no end insight. I could have built the pool faster with better quality all by myself.
Description of Work: My Pool Contractor is clearly disorganized trying to do too many pools at once. Many sunny perfect days go by with no workers onsite. Not providing any supervision to workers when onsite to build my pool per the plan. The sub contractors and laborers provided to build my pool had no skills for the jobs they were attempting to perform. Very poor quality work and numerous mistakes have been made at every stage of construction. Plumbing for the spa hangs outside of 12" concrete wall instead of centered buried in concrete, rebar hanging out of walls....not centered, Skimmer installed wrong had to be cut and chipped back out and reinstalled. Sheer descent waterfall not installed per directions in box with no room for expansion and contraction. All the finished copings bricks fell off the top side. Pool edge copings were put down with low cost thin set or something because they are all now falling off. My spa floor and drain had to be jack hammered out as they did not dig the spa deep enough for the bench heights agreed upon on the plan. The spa jets ended up being put in at wrong height by the owner Jerry himself. He was not even following the plan for the pool and was forgetting all the important details. All my plumbing was installed but he completely forgot my deck jets? No attention to detail at all! All these items were clearly listed in our contract and on my pool plan. I live 10ft from a nice pond with fish and no silt fence was put up before excavation. Lots of sand and soil ran downhill into water during many rain storms. I repeatedly asked the pool contractors excavation sub contractor why he was doing work with no errosion control in place. He said It was the Pool contractors responsibility. I had to demand repeatedly that a standard construction silt / barrier fence be put in to stop the damage and keep dirt out of the pond. The concrete sub contractor was an absolute joke. He wasted five weeks trying to form up and pour very simple pool enclosure footings, His forming work was wrong in every dimesion. Out of level, out of plumb and very crooked. He was very lazy and poured some of my walls with one sided forms..... making a wall that looked terrible as concrete had huge holes and voids leaving the rebar inside the wall exposed and was no where near level. All Concrete work performed, other than my pool shell that was done by an outside company is sub standard and looks very bad. I signed my contract on March,10,2012 it is now August 9, 2012. My pool is nowhere near finished and much of the work has to be torn off and redone. His employees do not have the skills to finish the job. I am currently interviewing other pool contractors to finish my pool. I have done everthing possible to get this contractor to complete my pool. He does not currently employ ANY journeyman level workers and he clearly does not have the skills to complete the work himself.
