I called the company at 10AM and they were able to have a technician come out at 12-2PM. The tech Ethan was called at 1130 and said he would be able to arrive early. Once he arrived, the job took just over 30min. Very professional and accommodating. Total price for the job was $290 with their coupon from the Papermint (2 springs + service call fee). Would hire again.

Customer service was terrible had a few issues with the repair they were not willing to help will not ever recommend them to anyone.

Even though they were very busy with repair work from the hurricane, they came out the day I called. Did a great job. The Technician was on time & very professional.

Just trying to get a quote out of this company went badly. No response to Angie's List request, no response to request on their web site. Very, very rude and unprofessional on the phone. Never, never tell a potential client that they are having a "bad day".

Called on Sat and was told they could not come out until Monday. We agreed on the time frame of 4-6. They arrived at 5pm. The repair tech and his helper came into the garage and stated the garage door is hurricane rated and would need a thicker spring that would cost $175.00 He then stated he would not be able to replace just the one spring because "they have the same life cycle" and that he could give me a coupon he had in his truck from the local Mint Magazine and could replace them both for $350.00. Then he asked the helper to look at the rollers in the track. The helper walked over and inspected them and said they were plastic. The tech said from 8 feet away (yes I measured after they left) "there is some metal on there" He then went on to say they should be replaced and he would do it for $120. Within 5 minutes of being in my garage we went from $150 to $470. I stated I really only wanted to repair the one spring. I had this happen in another house I had lived in and I only had to replace the broken spring. He said he wouldn't do it and it was unsafe for him to do because the other spring might break and hit him in the face. He then said he would do it but he wouldn't provide a warranty on the work or labor if he replaced only the one spring. Since he kept changing his story, I asked him if he wouldn't mind explaining this to my husband over the phone and he agreed. He explained what he had said to me, to my husband. My husband asked what the warranty was. The tech stated one year on the spring, 30 days on the labor. Not seeing any savings by doing both at the same time ($150 X 2 = $350) My husband stated he only wanted to replace the one spring, figuring if and when the other spring breaks we would replace it at that time. I heard my husband confirm the price with the tech and the tech stated $175 plus tax. My husband agreed and hung up the phone. The tech continued to pressure me to replace both springs. He then said I would be saving a lot of money if I did them both together. I started to ask how so since to replace 1 was $175 and to replace 2 was $350. He cut me off and said it was $175 plus tax PLUS a $29.99 service fee that he would waive if I replaced both springs. That was not what he had just told my husband and at that point I stated I was not going to get the door repaired at this time. He told his helper to disengage the garage door opener from the door and grab their stuff they were leaving. He walked away with out saying another word to me.

My experience was great. They were fast to respond and very professional. They had my garage door springs replaced and the door operating in less than an hour. Jimmy (the owner) was responsive to my request to have my door fixed immediately. Jake (the technician) was punctual and professional.

Called the company mid afternoon on a Saturday. Informed them that our garage door would not go up nor down. Within two hours a professional gentleman was at our door. He explained what was going on with our door and quoted the price. After agreeing with the price, he had completed the service within 45 minutes.

A cord broke on the automatic garage door. We sent a message on Angie's list. They contacted us the next day. Quoted and price and came out right away to repair it.

$300.00 for first repair which was not needed. Original service call was to replace logic board on door opener, not replace springs. Today charged $50.00. Technician was here 5 minutes, said was problem was normal, even though I did not have this problem prior to the original repair.

Wow. I'd like to bottle this experience and use it whenever I need service for anything. They promptly answered my e-mail, returned my call for service in the early AM, arrived for the appointment early, fully explained the service and fixed my garage door!

This was the last part of a VA-funded project to make my home wheelchair-accessible. James showed amazing patience. He gave me the estimate in Feb, it was finally approved in Sept, he completed the work in one day, and was finally paid by the VA in Oct. He never once complained or made me feel like I was a problem, unlike other contractors.

Ryan arrived within the time limits quoted to me and did the work quickly. He knew what he had to do immediately and did it. He was finished within 30-40 minutes. Very happy using A1A Overhead Door Co.

Fast, complete with no problems

Called in and needed a new garage door. The gentleman that answered was very polite and routed me to a website to review. He said they could be at my house the very next day if I ordered before 1:00 P.M. I told him I was not in a big rush. I called back in a few days greeted by his wife who was very polite also. Ordered the door wth her help. No high pressure selling very upfront about the pros and cons of differences in prices. She told me he would be there between 9 and 11 the next day. He was there at 8:30. He also was professional. Very satisfied and happy with the new door.
