D ennis Tome did not keep his word or honor the contract we signed to remodel our master bath. He talked a good talk but the action/work part was totally disappointing. In April of 2014 we gave him a $4500.00 deposit for the remodeling of our master bath. He said this would insure he would be available for us. He also said that if he could begin demolition in August of 2014, this would be a great start....he could then get more precise measurements etc. So, I flew back from NC in August and he did tear apart our bathroom.....tile, mirrors, wallboard, fixtures etc. He asked if it would be OK to leave the trailer filled with demo stuff in our garage for a couple of days. I said OK. I flew back to NC. My husband and I arrived back in Naples on October 4th 2014 (7 weeks later) and when we opened the garage there was the trailer still in the garage filled with the garbage of our old bathroom. He had done no more work in 7 weeks. After several phone calls he showed up and the excuses began. He would do a little work, usually late in the day and then leave. He had many excuses, and at first we believed him......but by the middle of November 2014, 7 months after we signed the contract with him we realized he was stringing us along. Dennis Tome has the ability to do the work if he would show up, but he was too busy elsewhere, or he hurt his back, or his help left, or it was a holiday, or he had a doctor appointment etc. etc. We waited for him many a day after he promised to show up. During the month of October he only worked on our bathroom a total of 12 hours. We told him how disappointed we were, living in a big mess, and our job not being completed in a timely manner. Our expection was for it to be completed by mid November, per his words. That was 7 months after the first deposit and 3 months after the demolition . We ended up hiring other contractors by the end of November to complete our project. We discussed with Dennis a partial refund of the money we had paid him. He did a song and dance and never returned a penny. On November 30, 2015 WE filed and won a judgement against Trinity Carpentry for $5000.00 plus court costs. (He didn't show up for court either). Very sad to trust someone and be so disappointed. A check of the Collier County Court Records will reveal other claims against Dennis Tome / Trinity Carpentry.
Description of Work: We contracted with Dennis Tome/Trinity Carpentry on April 14, 2014 to remodel our bathroom. We paid him a $4500.00 deposit at that time to insure that the work would be completed in a timely manner. On August 18, 2014 he was to begin demolition of our master bathroom and we paid him an additional $8,000.00. At that time he did begin the demolition........and then nothing for 7 long weeks. By the end of October it was evident that we were not getting the services we contracted for. The price for the total job was to be $29,500.00. He had almost half of that amount by August.

The project, when it was finally completed, was excellent quality. Major complaint is that it took six and half months to complete the job. We were initially told it would be done in three months. At times, contractor was inaccessible and would not return emails, texts or calls. We were warned by many in the complex who used him of the real timeframe vs. the contractor's promised time; however, we were convinced that his work and craftsmanship would be high quality, judging by the previous jobs he showed us.
