My wife and I rented a condo from Synergy in Naples. On day one our real estate agent from Synergy known only as "Jonathan" was 2 hour late for our appointment. This should have been the first clue. The next red flag came when we finally drew up a contract for a condo and signed. Synergy charged us a legal fee for the contract while on the contract itself, it stated clearly "$0" as the legal fee. Synergy insisted this was a mistake and said that we had to pay it, even though it stated $0 on a signed legally binding contract. Feeling bullied and not wanting trouble with our landlord (Synergy) we paid the fee. Upon leaving the condo this February we received a notice of intention to impose a claim on security deposit. They want to take $870.32 of my $1000 security deposit all for normal wear and tear items i.e. cleaning, carpet cleaning, paint and damages that were there before we moved in that we made them aware of and they never repaired. All this after 3 members of my family and I spent 4 hours cleaning the condo from top to bottom when my wife and I moved out. These people are crooks. Stay as far away from them as you can or you will find yourself in an ongoing battle even after you think you're done with them.
