Scott was very prompt on getting quote and guaranteeing results. Old grass/weeds were killed and sod scheduled. Quote was for 22 pallets of sod (later learned that only 16 were used--no price adj). Sod was thrown in haphazard fashion with large spaces in between strips. Two strips of obviously infected sod were put down. When I asked about the color, growth, appearance I was told that they had a fungus. (Why not change it NOW?) I was told they would spray it for insects. I think they just wanted me to purchase the contract for the monthly pest controls. The lawn was supposed to be rolled and sprayed the day of completion. After much hounding, supposedly it was sprayed and rolled. (I can not verify that.) The day the spraying was done Scott started hounding me for my payment. I received a bill that day which said pay within 15 days. Scott called me daily to pick up check and was perturbed when I was not available until after 5:00. Within 5 days I gave him a check against my better judgment. I wanted to withhold partial payment just in case sod did not catch. However, Scott guaranteed replacement of sod. I gave him the check and he cashed it that day. I got the feeling he thought I was going to stiff him. When I asked him about several pieces that did not appear to be rooting, he said wait 3 mo and call me. I have called Scott and Jay on numerous occasions to show dissatisfaction of the job. I have numerous pieces that did not take. I also paid Soto Lawn Service to check my irrigation system and to add necessary sprinklers to insure complete coverage. Supposedly that was done. I paid another company to add 6 additional sprinkler heads. When you stand in front of my house my sod looks like "s" curves on the property lines. there are numerous sections in the back that was missed. I figured Soto was going to blame improper treatment of insects, fungus & fertilization. I tried calling Jay, pest control operator, to have their company do the service. Even though I had no confidence in them, I thought that would be the only way to get sod replaced. They must have known I was unhappy because they never called me back. It has only been 3 mo and there are numerous bad spots in my yard, numerous spots that never started growing. I was told by another lawn service that the sod that Soto put under my trees was the wrong type for shade. I ordered what Soto told me I should have. I could not be more unhappy with this company. I hope my review keeps others from throwing their money away with SOTO'S LAWN SERVICE.
