One of only technicians I was able to find who would work on older hurricane shutters. Scheduled appointment within a few days of my call. Quickly diagnosed the problem - and had the replacement parts to fully repair our lanai shutter. Did a nice job re-caulking all seams and cleaning all work spaces. Was reasonably priced.

I will give this review one star because they did fix the issue. HOWEVER, I was quoted a price of around $300 to repair our storm shutter. I was charged $550. I was told by the technician that payment was due upon completion. I was told an invoice would be sent to me by the office later in the day. I questioned why it cost almost double the estimate. I was merely told I had to wait for the invoice. It’s been a month later and I have called Shutter Doctor 4 times and have been told an invoice would be emailed to me that night. I still have received no invoice. This place uses very deceptive tactics and is not an honest vendor. I would recommend using a major, reputable company.

I had a very good experience with Shutter Doctor! Mauro and his partner arrived ON TIME and fixed 4 window shutters in one day. Hey, shutter repair isn't rocket science, but some shutter companies want you to believe otherwise. Mauro was very nice. We worked together throughout the day - when I could help by raising / lowering shutters when needed I was enthusiastic. The price was reasonable and I had my shutters (which had been down for 5 months after another firm just blew me off several times) fixed in a professional manner. I researched BBB, Google, Yelp and other sources on shutter repair and narrowed my selection to two companies (one of which never returned my call) - Shutter Doctor was a lucky strike! I recommend them!

Provider had done work for me previously. Repaired the shutter in question by repairing and rearranging slats which are no longer made and replacing motor which he had warned me about on a earlier inspection. Had to work in a harness hanging 4 floors down from roof. Spent 3+ hours working to fix the problem. Shutter works perfect now. Saved considerable expense because alternative was to replace which would have cost several thousand due to location of shutter on the building.

Two others had looked at the shutters and said that they could not be repaired; new shutters were about $15,000. The original company was out of business and the parts were no longer available. The Shutter Doctor came by and said he could repair them, replace motors and relays if needed. Parts would not be a problem.

everything went fine
Description of Work: replaced the switches for the shutters, they were a 3 way switch, up for up, down for down, then you had to return to the center after the shuttter was raised or lowered. I wanted a switch that would automatically spring back to off, in case others who were not familiar with the switches, left them in the up or down position. Shutter Doctor installed the switches that spring back to off, and they work perfectly.
