It was good. The sales person was great. The whole experience was good. We are gonna probably exchange it, not because it is bad; it's working just fine it's doing everything that he said it would do it's just I think we might upgrade one model and he said we have 30 days to make up our mind. It was straight forward, professional, met our expectations. The salesperson was very informative. He let us know everything about what we were purchasing he even showed us the next model up which is good. He did a fantastic job in fact I wouldn't have known about the return policy had he not told me about it at that time. He said if you're unhappy for any reason after 30 days you can return this with no obligation at all or exchange it. That is what we are gonna do. We are gonna upgrade so it is to their benefit.

Description of Work: Repaired Adventium 240V oven. Required around 18 visits, lots of parts and over a year until someone qualified was sent, understood problem and ordered/ installed part. Problem solved. | |Sears was contracted by AHS to perform this work. AHS charged us multiple times to "fix" the same problem. Incompetency all around.

I bought a brand new set of Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances. The refrigerator has broken down twice in the last 18 months. The problems were identical. It's now costing me $800 to fix this thing again. The technician that was sent to my house told me it is a known problem and that Sears has issued numerous "Service Bulletins" regarding this refrigerator. He said he has repaired this identical refrigerator 3 times so far this mont for this same issue. Calls to the customer service dept yielded no help. The first repair had a 90 day warrantee so I'm Out of luck. The CSR gave me the two service bulletin numbers that pertain to my refrigerator and acknowledged there is a known recurring defect but still refused any assistance in repairing the unit. I'm now forced to rent a refrigerator because it is going to take 3 weeks to repair it as we're waiting for parts to be delivered, a PCB (motherboard) and a Duct assembly.
Description of Work: ***BEWARE***My top of the line Kenmore Elite Refrigerator is a 600lb paperweight. Sears knows about the recurring problem but refuses to recall and offers no help at all.

I have a Sears’s home appliance contract. I buy it for three years at a time. If my appliances go, I can call them up, have a man come, and repair them. It cost $1,000 for a three year program. It is called My Home, and you buy an agreement kind of a thing. You are entitled to have the man come every year for a general check up at no cost because that is in the $1,000, but then anytime anyone of the appliances goes, I can call up and say that my washing machine does not work, or my dryer does not work, or my refrigerator does not work, or the microwave does not work, or the oven does not work, or the dishwasher does not work. They will send a man each time I call up, and it does not cost me. Fortunately, my appliances have been holding up very well. I think they are great. I would wish it would be cheaper. I buy my appliances from them usually. You cannot get them like within a week though. The men are always very qualified. They send different men who can repair my refrigerator freezer as compared to the man who fixes like the washer or the dryer. They are different components. So, they send different men who are qualified to do that type of repair.
Description of Work: My dishwasher panel was a computerized panel, and that went kaput. I called up my Sears contract people, and they sent a man out who put a new one on.

It was a great experience. The installation charge for the microwave was $150. The salesperson at Sears let me know that I'd get a call the next day from the actual installer and I did get a call the next day from the installer. She set up an exact time that the installer would be out to install the microwave and the installer showed up exactly at that time and had given me a call a few minutes before hand just to let me know he was on his way and he would be on time. He got here, unpacked the microwave, and installed it. He was very quick, efficient, and clean.

Beware - this Sears is not the Sears your Mama used. A repairman came on Wed., Nov. 15th on a service call to repair my oven - It was too old to repair - no parts available. So this repairman ordered a replacement oven while he was here. He told me it would be delivered and installed the next day, Thurs., Nov. 16th. Sears contracted with R. Service Solutions, Ft. Myers, Fl for the installation of the new oven. Sears said I would be contacted by the installer by email and by telephone,on the 16th, with installation details i.e.- window of time they'd be here to install. They were "No call - no show - no email" on the 16th. I called R. Service Solutions on Friday, Nov. 16 to find out when the installation would take place since it didn't happen as it was supposed to on Thursday. Had to leave a voicemail - they never responded. I called them again later in the day - this time they answered but said that the install would not be done that day - I was told it would happen the next day, Sat. Nov, 17th - again "no call, no show, no phone call, no email". It is now Mon., Nov. 19th. No contact still from R. Service Solutions. I call again and have to leave a voicemail. After waiting a while I called Sears again - told them of the problems I was having with their installation company. At first they tell Sears that the installation can't take place until after Thanksgiving- that Sears didn't let them know about the order on the 15th in time to schedule the install for the 16th - they also told Sears that they had tried to call me and couldn't reach me & left a voicemail - not true R. Service Solutions - my IPhone is attached to my hip at all times day & night - you are a no call and no show. With the second call from Sears to the installer they tell Sears the install can POSSIBLY take place Tues., Nov. 20th - and if not Tues. then DEFINITELY Wed., Nov. 21st. Well friends, Thursday, Nov. 22nd is THANKSGIVING DAY and I don't have an oven just promises that clearly can not be trusted. I cancelled this order and I have no intentions of ever shopping at Sears again. PS - the cancellation/refund process is just as much fun (not) as the rest of this disaster...............they outsource their customer service calls to somewhere outside the USA. BIG BIG communication issues. It's doubtful that I can expect my refund to be accurate nor can I expect it within 7-10 days promised. Very disappointed. And I still can't cook Thanksgiving Dinner for my family - first time in 40 years.
Description of Work: No services completed - I cancelled the order for a new built-in oven because the installer wouldn't return my calls and because they did not live up to what Sears said they would do as their representatives. BEWARE!! I'm very disgusted at this point! No home cooked Thanksgiving Dinner here this year.

They were very good about calling to let me know in advance when everything was going to be delivered. Because I had a Sears credit card they discounted the sales price again 15%. When the microwave was installed, it was not working so I called them and they were out the next day to replace it with a new one.

One of the repair was for something that Sear's installed, We have installed a garbage disposal and it was backing up in the dishwasher. And they were very responsive with that came right out and fixed it. The other issue we had was with the stove the lighting feature wasn't working and the fix that as well. We would use them again in the future.
