He spent over 4.75 hours looking for the problem. When they finally found the problem he wasn't willing to negotiate that he had any responsibility with the problem. There had been a carpenter working on the area as well. The carpenter had covered the electrical box with a cabinet and basically he didn't notice anything behind it. The electrician has worked on identical units for the past 10 - 15 years and should have easily known the problem with the box being covered. The condo manager with the electrician finally discover the problem. Four hours and 45 minutes of searching resulted in a necessary $4.00 part. Because the box was covered it was causing electrical shorts. The back of the cabinet had to be removed and a $4 part corrected the problem; however the electrician billed me for $419.93 for his time when he should have from past experience with the condo association known instantly where the problem was. The condo association has decided not to use this vendor any longer.
