I highly recommend this company. Stephen was on time, professional, friendly, and explained everything in detail so I fully understood the installation and new filtration system.

Pro-Tec charges a $74 dispatch fee to send a plumber and is also charging a $300 “diagnostic” fee before their plumber will touch anything! They don’t tell you about the diagnostic fee until they show up. I also had to loan the plumber a tool so he could remove the cover plate in the shower. Outrageous!

Beware: Do not hire this company. The very worst experience that I have ever had with any company. They replaced my hot water heater 4 years ago for over $1,000. The cold water line fittings completely corroded and rusted out and developed a major leak. I live on the 8th floor in a condo in Naples and if someone was not there at the time, the water leak would have flooded all 7 floors below me and could have caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage due to improper fittings used on the cold water line. Was told by the tech that the guy who did this, probably doesn’t work here any longer. I had no water since shut off valve for tank did not work, also installed by them. Had to turn off main supply line. They came out and said would replace tank at no charge and be there later that day or following day. I asked for an emergency repair just to get cold water working and they wanted $374.00 to put a cap on the line to stop leak. Another way to hold me a hostage. They would not answer phones, even the emergency number. Talked to the owner the very next day and he said to sign the estimate he sent by e mail for $986 and they will install tank. $986.00 was for labor only or a job that they said would take 2 hours to complete, highway robbery! They were holding me at full hostage without a useable condo, (could not even flush toilets). I am a school teacher and had to work the next day and had to drive clear across town to shower at a friend’s house before work. I hired an honest and reputable plumber the very next day and he by -passed tank for cold water use and charged me only $67.00. The new honest company will get all of my future work and business for all of our condo units in the future. Our condo association is well aware of this and have inspected this disaster installation event. Bonnie P

Save yourself a lot of money and use another company for residential repairs. I used Pro-Tec to clear a blockage on one side of our home. This happened on a Sunday so “weekend” rates, $149 per hour, apply. I needed the work done so had to accept the hourly price. I assumed it would take no more than 2 hours to use the “snake” to clear the line. The tech, Nick, arrived at 4pm and used the snake from outside the house first which did not work. He then proceeded to remove three toilets to apply the snake to the lines from inside the house. This did not work. He then stated that he would need to get a longer snake which he for some reason did not have on his truck. He said that he usually would have this for a residential call like ours as we provided the details on the phone. He left to go the “shop” to it and returned one a half hours later. Their office is 13.5miles from our home so about a 45min round trip journey on a Sunday afternoon. This worked and he reset the three toilets. The total bill included the one an half hour charge to get the missing piece of equipment, an added $223.50. I disputed this and he said to talk to his boss. I paid him – probably should not have and called his office left message for Dave Sunquist the Service Manager and you guessed it never heard back from him. The total bill for the service was $934.50 !! This includes a $75 “Snake Fee” ! Had he brought the right equipment and used it from outside the house at the very beginning it would have cleared the line and the whole cost would have been around $450. Save yourself a lot of money and use another company. Pro-Tec is rated a B on Angies List. I should have used any of the numerous A rated companies.

Pro-Tec was always very responsive and professional... and all work was done perfectly and reasonably priced. With the in-sinkerator replacement, they arrived within hours - very important since we couldn't use the kitchen sink without water pouring out into the cabinet. With all other projects, they were able to work around our schedule of when we would be at the home. If we were to own another place in the area, we would absolutely hire them again.

Initial appointment to determine issue was fine. Told they would follow up within a few days with answer on finding parts. No call came. I called and left messages. When finally got call back they tried to upsell me for whole new make/model that would involve tile work and estimate at $400-500. When declined they offered to find the part but told it would take at least 2 more appointments to 1- determine the exact valve type (would have thought that happened during initial appointment) and 2- installation of part which wouldn't take long but minimum charge would apply. I decided to hire a new plumber to give my money to.

Just fine, they showed up when they were supposed to, completed the installation, cleaned up well after they were done and the water heater is working well.

I called Pro-Tec to replace my garbage disposal. The technical came over the same day. He was friendly and professional. He replaced the disposal quickly and cleaned up thoroughly after. I am very pleased with the results.

Their price was very good. The work was great. There were no problems. They did a clean job. I was very pleased.

Work well defined ahead of time. No surprises. Professional, experienced two-man crew spent most of the day swapping out old connections, fixtures. Stayed with difficult tasks until done well. Pleasant. Informative.

I've called to replace a broken faucet handle or the whole bathroom faucet. The tech told me that the handle is not available for this model and he does not carry any faucets on the truck. He offered to go buy a handle while I pay for his time at $99 per hour. Or he could come back another day to replace a whole faucet for $430. Google found the replacement handle in stock at Home Depot, Lowes and Ace for under $12. I declined the tech's offer and was charged for the visit $89. That's the price to have them come and "diagnose".

On schedule, on budget, great cleanup.

We called Pro-tec because of the good reviews in Angie's list but the service was very poor. After checking and removing the toilet, the technician told us that we had to replace it because he could not remove the tank to fix the flushing mechanism. We agreed with the technician and ordered the new toilet. However my husband checked at night if he could remove the tank in the toilet and it was very easy. So the technician just wanted to sell us a new toilet. The technician spent about two hours trying to fix the drain in the bathroom sink but he could not do it. So we decided to terminate the service with Pro-tec and ended up paying $400 for just fixing the drain in the bathtub. .

The technician (Chris) was early to the service call, identified the issue immediately and had the problem fixed in less than half an hour. It was overall an excellent experience.
