Description of Work: Serviced an all-in-one machine to exclude the machine as cause of fax malfunctioning. Was extremely thorough, courteous, knowledgeable, explaining as he went. Turned out the problem was with CenturyLink. In addition to the actual work performed, Bill was very available by phone prior to the service call to troubleshoot the problem. This was extremely impressive, as I was a first-time customer. Will certainly be using North Naples again, as my former long-time computer tech left the business. Very, very good experience.

 + -1 moreNow the old laptop lets me sign on and works like it did before. I was able to transfer all my pictures and other info to an external hard drive I had just bought. The laptop was worn out and needed to be replaced. Bill told me to call him Sunday am after he looked at the ads in the paper. I did and he recommended a new laptop that is exactly what I want. It was on sale for over $150 off the published price and a very good deal. Now that he fixed the problems with Windows 8, it also works great. HE DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS FOR HIS WORK!!
Description of Work: MY LAPTOP WOULD NOT LET ME SIGN ON. BILL LED ME THROUGH THE FIX ON THE PHONE. It was on it's last legs and he recommended a new laptop which I bought online for a great price. I dropped the new computer at his office and he corrected the problems with Windows 8. He brought it to my house working GREAT!! He also suggested a fix for my TV and sound system compatibility. ALL FOR $85.

 + -1 moreBill has repaired my computer(s) several times. Recently I called him with a problem and he actually took the time to talk me through the issues and resolved the malfunction over the phone. No charge! Now that's a good provider. When Bill repaired my computers his price has always been reasonable and the service was performed in a timely fashion. I can't recommend North Naples Computer more highly than to say I'd never go anywhere else.

 + -1 moreI have a Dell XPS 8100 desktop computer that has had intermittent video problems since it was new. I attempted to get help on a couple of occasions from Dell tech support but was never able to get the problem correctly diagnosed and serviced. Recently, the problem progressed to such a degree that the computer became very unpredictable as to when it would lose video. It became impossible to do various tasks because of this unpredictability. I selected North Naples Computers from the reviews shown on Angie's List. Bill D'Antuona, the owner, was very thorough in questioning me as to what the problem's characteristics were. Ultimately, the problem required that I take the computer into his shop and leave it for him to investigate. After running a series of tests over a few days, he concluded the problem was the video card. Bottom-line is he replaced the card and everything has been working beautifully ever sense. Why Dell techs couldn't figure this out is beyond me. Any future computer issues will be immediately referred to North Naples Computers for resolution.

I will use Mr D'Antuono again and refer my friends. My other tech emailed me instructions but he was not correct in diagnosing the problem
Description of Work: First time I called him on the phone, he told me what do do and fixed it for me right on the spot. I had been calling my repairman for help since Tuesday, this is Saturday. My printer wasn't working properly after he had been here 3 times this month.

When he began to work on the router he told me that it was an old router and suggested that I replace it. Then Bill spent a little more time and updated the router and secured it.

Description of Work: After seeing all the reviews, I tossed caution aside and I called. Yes I called, after 7 PM at night, with a responce back within a half hour. After a brief discussion was told I could be seen the next day! How is that for a responce? Maybe hard too believe, but true for me. The overall experiance was exceptional. William not only took care of my PC issues but another related issue I was having electronically at home. I very good source to rely on for any future problems that surely WILL COME.

 + -1 moreOverall it was positive experience. He was pleasant, informative and gave me a reasonable estimate if the problem indicated that I needed a new screen. If he couldn't fix the problem then he would not charge me. Ultimately, there was no charge because he felt that there was no real problem and that my PC was fine.
Description of Work: I had a problem with a blackout screen on the boot up of my PC. Called North Naples computer and Bill, who is the owner, took me thru some steps on the phone to eliminate some conditions that might me causing this problem. We had no luck so I delivered my PC to his home office for further hands on diagnosis. He called me back 2 days later and was able to boot the PC with no issues. We discussed potential issues that might have caused the original problem. I later picked up my PC and everything is fine. He didn't charge me a fee.

Description of Work: I had a laptop with Windows Vista operating system and it was unable to install periodic updates that were provided by microsoft. The "error report" that greeted me every time I turned on my computer was more than bothersome. I tried everything I could think of to solve the problem, but without success.I found North Naples Computer on Angie's List and gave them a call. The owner, Bill Daventuono, said to bring it in and he would take a look at it. Bill phoned me after a couple of days and said he had spent quite a few hours on it and it showed no improvement. I could have taken it back at that time if I chose and there would have been no charge since Bill doesen't charge if he can't fix it. But then he suggested removing the Vista OS and installing Windows 7 .I paniced at the prospect of this "fix", but Bill was able to save all my music, pictures and most importantly my emails and contacts. I now have the computer back and I couldn't be more pleased-It's like having a brand new computer. I know that Bill spent many more hours than the price reflects, but his commitment to his customer's satisfaction is very important to him and I can't praise him enough

 + -1 moreMy computer had a virus or Trojan that made most of the icons on my desktop and start menu disappear. The ones that were still there somehow took me to some bogus program that I didn't want or trust. I took the computer to Bill and he solved the problem without losing any of my games, documents or email. He somehow put it back like it used to be. It works great now and I am happy again.

 + -1 moreBil, at North Naples Computers, worked on my computer for several days and could not resolve the problem. He thought it was probably a bad hard drive. He suggested that it would be more cost efficient to just buy a new laptop rather than replace the hard drive. Bill even suggested a replacement laptop that was available at a local big box store that I should look at. It was what I wanted at a good price and I bought it. I asked Bill how much I owed him for the work and he said NOTHING! He said if he can't fix a computer he doesn't charge anything. Now how many repair shops can you find with an attitude like that now a days? Needless to say I am very pleased and would not hesitate to return to his shop.

 + -1 moreBy the end of the first day I contacted hi, I ordered the special recovery disk from Dell. He gave me the price of a new hard disk and said to contact him as soon as the disk was in. He told me how much I would probably have to pay, Two days later I dropped the disk off at his house and he said it would take a day or two. In two more days I had my computer back and it worked fine He asked me questions about what programs I used and configured the computer without many of the extra soft ware from DELL and Microsoft which I never used. He also gave me a program to back up my entire system at a later date so that if it happened again, I could recover much easier. A few days later he contacted me to see if everything was working to my satisfaction. I would reccommend him to anyone. I initially found him on Angie's List. I do not know wht the going hourly rates are for repair as this is the first time in 20 years I ever had a breakdown.
Description of Work: My one year old DELL computer would not boot up. I contacted North Naples Computers and spoke with the owner, William D'Antuono. After a few minutes on the phone he told me what to bring into his shop and said he must first do a diagnostic check which would be free. I dropped the machine off an hour later, about 3:00 and had a call a few hours later. He explained to me what the problem was and told me what needed to be done. He put in a new hard drive and reloaded all the software.

Honestly, he had to lose money with what he charged and the amount of time he spent, but he honored his original price. Very happy overall and a very honest person.
