I would NOT recommend this contractor. After bidding and winning my job and estimating a 3 week due date, the contractor abandoned the job at 10 weeks. He left my house a mess, never completed any facet of the agreement, told me he did things that he had not and most importantly the work he did was so poor that it had to be redone. I have worked with many contractors and this one is by far the most unprofessional, incompetent and unethical contractor that I have had the misfortune of working with. I also believe that he is a pathological liar. For example: o The flooring that he installed was so uneven that it was a safety hazard. A person could easily trip between tile. It was so badly installed that 3 contractors all agreed it was best to remove and install new tile. o Mr. Cala charged me and told me he had pulled a permit for the job. No permit was ever issued by the county. o He had his untrained wife painting interior doors and doing electrical work. He said he could not afford his worker's salary. o At the start he told me he had approx 140 workers. It turns out that he has 2. o His electrical work was improperly done to the point it was called a fire hazard. I have so many more examples that I could write a small novel but I want to get this out on Angie's list before any one hires him.
