 + 2 moreWe are very happy with the end result - it is exactly what we asked for. Greg and John at KGT are very professional and communicate well. Since we were out of state for some of the remodel, the website with the calendar and pictures is great! The work included a complete kitchen remodel, the master bath with some plumbing rearranged, the second full bath, laundry room, tiling the entire condo, leveling the enclosed lanai, etc.
Description of Work: KGT were hired to do a complete remodel of a 2 bedroom condo in Pelican Bay. This included the kitchen and two bathrooms.

Because his business is not that close to where I live, and the fact that he really does not know any of the building inspectors in my community, I doubt I will use this business for remodeling

 + -1 moreIt all started out well. Greg made an appointment, and actually had some good ideas. He said that he would put them in a plan and get it back to me by the next week. He did as he said and sent a plan for my approval. The plan changed the position of the refrigerator and I preferred the placement that we discussed, so I gave him the OK to go ahead with those considerations. He said that he would work up an estimate based on the approved plan. That is when he disappeared. I emailed several times and there was no response. Finally, out of desperation, I begged for a response and he replied that his internet had been out of service for a week and that he would have the estimate by the next week. Haven't heard from him since. No internet? I think, no business skills. I read other reviews that had similar experiences, and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Don't make that mistake, there are plenty of contractors that can do the work. I found another remodeler on Angies list and the kitchen is scheduled and life is good. Don't get it, if he didn't want the business, just communicate. Its a shame, I liked his expertise, but I am too old to play hide and seek.
Description of Work: I purchased the coupon for a kitchen remodel and design. The appointment was made and Greg the owner showed and discussed remodeling options. A week later, he emailed a plan similar to what we discussed.

 + -1 moreWe asked Greg to do a quote on kitchen remodeling, based on a coupon from Angie's List. We made an appointment for an initial consultation, and he did not show up. When we called him 20 minutes later, he answered right away and apologized for forgetting us, and made another appointment, for which he was very punctual. At that time we discussed our needs and he took measurements. He then came back to deliver and discuss the quote. We were pleased with his design and his price, but decided to go with another firm for the job because their price was similar, but we preferred their design.

 + 2 moreHe was very punctual. He was very attentive and told us exactly what we needed to know. He scheduled appointments for us to meet with people to show us different products and that worked out extremely well. He was extremely professional. Up to now, it has been a 100% experience.
Description of Work: We are using the big deal with KGT Remodeling for a kitchen remodel work in July. They gave us a proposal, we signed the contract, we gave them a deposit, and it is all scheduled.

 + -1 moreIf you can have the demolition done when you are not living in the unit, do it. I didn't realize just how messy it was going to be. Pop, Greg's father-in-law,did his best to keep the dust at a minimum. If I ever do this again, I am leaving town for the duration. Before the painting begins, if you can find out whether oil based paints were used previously, it would prevent the lifting that takes place when latex is painted over oil. The areas need to be sanded and repainted with an oil based paint. Otherwise, all went well. I am thrilled with the end result. The neighbors marvel at the openess now that the kitchen wall has been removed. I am very appreciative of Greg's unending patience and marvelous suggestions. Because of the amount of experience he has accummulated, his ideas are practical while adding value in terms of function and attractiveness. Every day when I look around my home, I thank Greg for his contribution to my life in Paradise.
Description of Work: Prior to my move to Naples, I had not been involved in any major remodeling. Greg provided expert suggestions that were appropriate for my new home based on his extensive background and work experience. To make the villa more open and airy, he suggested taking down a wall forming the kitchen area. This necessitated moving plumbing and electrical fixtures. In order to do this, the floor was opened for the rerouting of the pipes and wires. As the place was going to be completely retiled, this was a good time to make the change. The effect is fabulous when you walk in and see the lake. The offset is I lost some wall space. The kitchen cabinents are beautiful, a lovely honey color. Surprisingly, they do not need polishing, just some warm water. Since the small pantry was lost in taking down the wall, several cabinents were added for storage. The subcontractors are all excellent. I liked a floor tile that was outside the budget but Landra found a supplier. There was a slight imperfection in some of the tiles. Raul is a magician. The floor looks great! The granite countertops for the kitchen and baths came from leftovers. This kept the cost down. It was helpful to see large pieces of granite when making a selection. I wasn't able to visualize the entire piece from looking at a small sample. There was an ample number to choose from. Several ceiling fans were replaced along with the addition of pendant lights over the breakfast bar. Lights under the kitchen cabinents were added. The ceiling light/fan in the bathrooms are much quieter than the previous ones. The bathroom cabinents are easy to clean. Two large ones were added to the master bath for storage. A wall separating the toilet from the sink area was removed making the entire bathroom feel larger and lighter. Bathroom fixtures of brushed nickel were substituted for a small additional cost.. Both baths were retiled keeping the tub in the guest bath and a shower stall in the master bath. Repainting part of the unit was included in the remodeling, The entire unit repainted to give it a fresh updated look. The main a/c vent was moved from the ceiling to a reachable spot over the den entrance.

We are very satisfied with the quality of the kitchen and the professional work that Greg did. We have since recommended Greg to our neighbors and he has two more jobs in our condo complex on kitchen and baths.

 + 5 moreFound KGT on Angie's List. This was a long distance remodel Chicago-Naples, FL. Talk to Greg and signed a contract in August, 2010 for 2 bathroom gut and remodel. I was not in Florida when this work was going on. Greg went along with our desire to pick out materials and misc. hardware in Chicago and have shipped to Naples. Bought cabinets, shower doors and plumbing fixtures from Greg. Talked a few times on the phone for clarification on some issues. Pretty much left it up to him and his judgment. Could have sent more pictures during the different phases of project. I believe the price was fair (just remodel 2 baths in Chicago in the prior 4 months) and the service was great. Having dealt with more than a few Florida contractors over the 23 years, he did what he said he was going to do and then some. The only glitch we had was there was a delay in completing the shower doors. Not a big deal but it added about 1 1/2 weeks to the completion date of the project (10/31/2010). One final point is that we have used other contractors for other work in our condo (new kitchen remodel) and by far, Greg and his team are the best I've come across in the Naples area.

I had the pictures of what I wanted and picked out the cabinets from his catalog, went to the tile place he asked me to and worked with the women he asked me to. And even though he told me he would quote me, he never bothered. I even called him twice and he kept saying he was working on it. He seemed trust worthy, but I ended up wasting my time, and holding up my project for a few months because he didn't bother telling me he was too busy. He even had my e-mail.

Description of Work: We had a remodeling job done by them. They replaced 2 glass sliders. Glass and screen enclosure. Our entry door was replaced. Our living room and dining room were tiled. Two bedrooms were carpetted. They took out popcorn ceiling in living room and dining room. All new baseboards were installed. Bathrooms and kitchen got matching tile with the living room, dining room. They did some painting and added electric plugs, and a television jack.

 + 0 moreI called Mr. Ulry in early Feb. before my cabinets came in. He made an appt for 9 a.m. and arrived right on time. His appearance was very professional. He looked over what needed to be done and said he would email me an estimate. It arrived 2 days later and was easy to understand and more than fair. I contracted for him to start on March 9 and he said it would take approximately 2-3 days. He and an assistant arrived at 10 the first morning and at 9 the next day. He finished early the third day. He contracted with another company to install the countertops and they did so on the fourth day. His work was done exactly on schedule. It is very hard to find a qualified contractor willing and able to do remodeling in an "older" model Mobile home. He showed no qualms about tackling the job. We couldn't have asked for more. If we need more work done, we will use him. I have already recommended him to neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: We have a 1976 Mobile home with the original kitchen. Removed old cabinets and counters. Moved appliances. Installed new cabinets I had previously ordered from another source. Ordered countertops for me at a better price than the original source offered. Had to change doors on cabinets that were all left opening, not as ordered. Installed backsplash before installing the cabinets. He laid new subflooring for our new vinyl flooring.
