Frank Shultz

Poor performance. I took a chance based on the one rating that Mr. Shultz had on Angie's list and after speaking with two other contractors. Mr. Shultz had insurance and guaranteed his work, and proviced price was fair. He said he had been doing windows and siding for 30 years and said he would be able to start the job the week after we spoke. He indicated that he also installed windows in between. My house was completely renovated and we were already 2 1/2 months behind schedule so I needed the project done quickly. He said he could finish it in two weeks, it took him 5 weeks. Besides taking longer, the biggest problem was the sloppy work he performed. He cut the window sills too short and then caulked them thick and sloppy, and in some cases he didn't caulked all the way through, which could casue water damamge. And there were pieces of siding material that was not installed properly so some areas were not correctly attached and were coming apart. We had to consitently stay after him to correct things all the way until the job was done... which was today. To make matters even worse, the police had to be called to my home for breach of peace. His and his employees were very very unprofessional throught the entire project. Cursing and yelling at each other throughout the entire project. Two of his employees got into an argument which then resulted in a fight, and the police being called. Personally, I would never ever recommened Mr. Shultz to anyone.

They did a great job. They had to remove all the windows and the screen door then remove the roted T 111 plywood siding from the porch. They then painted the new T111 siding while it was on the ground so that the paint would soak in rather than just run down the wall. This impressed me a lot that they thought to do it that way to add longevity to there work product. They even provided the best new one coat paint from Home depot that has been advertised so much on the TV and had it tinted to match the vinyl siding on the rest of the house perfectly. They did a great job overall and completed the job in just one day. They even took away the old removed T111 so that I would not have to mess with it. I rate them at a good A++ in my book. Ed Kolar
