Ecocrete of SWFL LLC - Naples

I had Ernie make me a concrete vanity top for our master bathroom. He was very professional and did a GREAT job. His craftsmanship was excellent and he finished it quickly. I highly recommend Ecocrete for any concrete work.

Not Well. Ernesto quoted a price for painting the concrete floor. He explained the job process. He explained the imperfections in the concrete, the ghosting of the old tiles onto the concrete floor and how his work would not be able to hide any cracks or imperfections. I was fine with the ghosting and cracks adding that those imperfections would add character to the floor. During the consultation he spoke about money due him from other jobs. I assured him I would pay and he agreed to my time frame Work was to start July 6, 2015 and finish July 10, 2015. He arrived late on Monday with the wrong equipment. He did not start to remove tile until around 2 pm. He did not contact me until the third day on the job to let me know the concrete was coming up with the tile, creating pitting of the floor. His paint job is deplorable. It is gray and he sprayed white paint to look like dots on top of the gray. The floor space is 1300 sq. feet and you can see where the care of the job stopped because the dots begin to look as if he splashed white paint precariously on the floor from a paint brush. He scratched the tiles at the entrance to the building and splashed paint at the doorway. Neither was cleaned or repaired before he left. Now the job is complete and I still need to find someone to fill in the many pits and smooth out my floor.

Met with Ernesto, paid him 50% deposit with the understanding that he would provide samples that we could select from to move forward with the new dyed concrete floor. 50% deposit was for floor prep, sealing of existing cracks and money to buy the microcement to do the job was paid. (The microcement gets dyed and then applied to the floor. The prep work left our new white walls damaged and scratched. The filling of the cracks- at an additional $5 per linear foot left bubbles or air holes, so not fully filled. When Ernesto presented his samples for our selection, I am sorry to say that the "end product" looked like dirty concrete and I was not comfortable spending almost $8k for such a floor. When we advised Ernesto that we did not want to proceed and wanted a refund of the portion of our deposit unused he closed down the dialogue! His attorney sent us a notice that he was keeping all: for special order product that could not be returned and for lost time. We were prepared to pay for time and materials used, but as we had never selected a product, how could materials be customized to work we did not order?? We went back and forth with attorney and Ernesto's wife and finally did receive about 25% of our funds back and insisted we take delivery of the product we were expected to pay for but not use. It was very stressful. I had expected the contractor to be more professional and not lawyer up at the first sign that things were not going his way! I rarely write reviews but I felt very displeased with the lack of professionalism and the level of mistrust in this contractor. I could not recommend Ecocrete of SW FL to anyone.
