This reno did not go well. I hired Blue + Alder (Kevin and Heather) back on June 16th. I was introduced to Blue + Alder by Houzz.com and at our initial meeting in March, they made a great impression by bringing us the Florida Design magazine with a beautiful 2-page ad of their company. They said there are 4 offices run by family and have a number of people working. An office in Miami, Naples, NYC, and Chicago. It sounded like they were a big company. They sold me on their design and vision. On the second visit, the owner and his wife brought me samples from Porcelanosa. I was impressed and we agreed to move forward. That's not when the problem started. I met with them a few more times and on my visit in June 2019 to Maimi I gave them a deposit. They wanted half (50%} which my husband and I thought was high. They told us that was the policy and they needed to start buying supplies: Tiles, cabinets, showers fixtures, etc. We gave them the deposit and told them to apply for our permits right away since we knew that would take longer. This is our winter home and gave them until Mid October to complete the project, this was not a major job we were just giving the bathrooms a facelift. A number of calls later they finally applied for my permits on Aug. 19, 2019. It is November 2019 and I finally got the permits myself since this company kept stalling and coming up with excuses. There were too many red flags and too many stories that didn't add up. They kept blaming it on the permits. I came to realize there was a lot more and I caught them in a lie where my trust was lost. I have put everything on hold and we are waiting for Blue + Alder to return our money. We are trying to get back what is owed to us. They do not have a plan or a crew of their own. Blue and Alder work with 3rd party tradesmen. They overcharge for the products, you're better off going to Lowes because that's the stuff they buy and mark it up 50%. I will also be putting a review on Houzz. Do your research about this company. Check Reviews on Naples, FL. Chicago, IL, and Maimi. Research their names, not the company. I wish I knew this before I gave them my money. Hope this helps.
