Description of Work: We had our air conditioner fixed in July & at the tech's advice, installed two black lights to kill mold. He told us he thoroughly inspected our air conditioner and that we should have no other problems with it. He also advised us to install a surge protector installed, assuring us that all of our electrical devices would be fully protected. Total bill: $3,700 In early December our air conditioner broke again and we were charged $300. In addition to that, my husband's computer broke due to a surge problem. Next, recommended by Best Home was for a $1,300 air duct cleaning - I'm having a service coming this Friday for $450. Today we called them for plumbing. Now I've owned four homes and they've all had the same problems with back-ups that all have been solved simply by snaking out the main. Not so with Best Home. I couldn't believe it when my husband and I were told that they wouldn't be doing that. They would be flushing the water out and placing TV cameras down. What? Are they performing surgery? And the price $2,600. We sent them on their way and called an honest plumber. His price $325. Stay far, far away from Best Home Services. They sound delightful but they are snakes in the grass.

+ -1 moreThe technician called upon inspecting the unit and said it needed 2 parts that would total $686. It seemed he had already installed them when we received the phone call, but upon calling the Best Air office, we realized he had not. Based on our dealing with the technician over the phone, we wanted to call & get another opinion and estimate of the cost of the parts over the phone from another company. Over the phone, we were quoted 1/2 the price for the parts, and then decided to let Best go and paid them the $79.50 for the service call. Upon the second company's arrival, it was discovered we only needed ONE of the 2 parts Best recommended, and the other company's technician told us the prior tech had disconnected the power in the AC box outside, causing a fire hazard. We were very disappointed, not to mention frustrated, with the lack of professionalism on Best's technician's part. We would not call Best Air again, as we feel like we were taken advantage of by being out of town and with a tenant in the condo and not able to personally supervise the situation.
Description of Work: We live in WI & called Best to diagnose a problem with our A/C in our rental condo in Bonita Springs. Based on their Angie's List rating and the $79.50 including the A/C tune-up and not just a service charge to arrive, I scheduled them to come out. The front desk/scheduler was great, & we gave her explicit instructions to call us before authorizing the technician to do the repairs.

+ -1 moreThis is a very professional company. I called at about 1 PM on Wed to get someone to come out for an estimate. They said that they might be able to do it that afternoon by 4. Shortly before 4 they called to say that the service tech was tied up. We scheduled for between 10 and 2 the next day. At 10:15 Steven showed up and prepared the estimate. Best uses a price book, not T&M so there is no difference between the quote and the bill, unless you add something. We accepted the quote and asked when they could start the work. Steven said he could start immediately. He had everything needed on his truck including tools and equipment.
Description of Work: Installed an outdoor electrical outlet, furnished and installed whole house surge protection including protection for cable, telephone, 3 air conditioners, a pool sub-panel and installed a new double grounding system.

They show up on time when they say they will. The workers are very friendly and professional. I will continue to use them for future service and have recommended them.

+ 0 moreWhen repairing the outlet, I had another outlet that had been left hanging out of the wall by a cable repairman. He fixed it for me at no charge and without my asking. When my air conditioner quit, they did a complete maintenance (which I hadn't had done for some time) and repaired it to the point of getting it running. It, however, had many problems requiring a new system. The price for this repair was deducted from the price of the A/C unit. Because I was unable to go into the attic to see it, he took pictures on his cell phone to show me. He was very clean (always wearing "footies" when in the house), very punctual and courteous. He went to great lengths to show me my options and comparison of other units.
Description of Work: On one occasion, they repaired some wiring and an outlet. They also installed a new air conditioner after repairing my old one.

+ -1 moreI wish that I had not paid an additional hundred and fifty dollars to have the inspection done because they did not find anything that was wrong. The new circuit breaker works properly and I have not had any problems. The work they did was fine, but I was just a little unhappy about the total cost for the service.
Description of Work: They replaced my existing circuit breaker box with a new 40 AMP breaker. They also inspected all of the electrical wiring in my house to make sure everything was working properly.
