Great employees and great work! I would just like to say what a great experience I had in dealing with Best Electric and Air. It's not always fun or easy to coordinate a repair from 1,200 miles away but they made that very easy. Everything from my initial call to the final invoice was handled very professionally and timely. Also, a special thanks to my technician Scott, who kept in touch with me and thoroughly explained all of the needed repairs for both visits. I have used other companies in the past (to much less satisfaction) but now I have found a company that I feel very comfortable with and trust. Thank you again to the entire staff at Best!

This company is fabulous! The technicians were an absolute pleasure to be around and have in my home. Very talented, polite and respectful young men. They were true gentlemen and true professionals. They really knew what they were doing. I never had a company treat me so well with with so much respect. Best Electric and Air was fabulous and the technicians really are the best!

Emegency service late Saturday night was GREAT! We had partial power in our home in several areas and breakers wouldn't stay on. We called Best and they sent a tech, Hector, in about an hour. He diagnosed the problem, replaced some breakers and then went through the entire house with us to ensure everything was in safe working order. He was very thorough and very courteous. And he took his time to explain everything to us, especially for it being 10 o'clock on a Saturday night. Best Electric and Air gave us great service from the time we called to the time Hector left our house. This is a GREAT company!

This is the most professional and best service I've ever had. I live in the Chicago area and this is my townhome in FL. I've had many companies do work at my homes and Best Electric and Air did the best job from start to finish! Their employees are awesome! I had another rival company come out that morning because my old A/C wasn't working. The rival company told me the compressor was bad and I needed a new system. The tech wrote down three prices and brands and told me someone from his office would call shortly to schedule a sales guy to come out. He left me without any air conditioning and after 2 hours of waiting for a call I decided to call Best Electric and Air and boy was I glad I called Best! Matt from Best was out within an hour, sat down with me and went over all my options with me. He was patient and took as much time as I needed. By 1 o'clock Matt's installation crew was at my home installing my new A/C system. They finished at 7pm and I was able to go to sleep in a nice air conditioned home. This company must have a strict hiring process because all of the employees from Best were just awesome! I am so grateful that I found Best Electric and Air. I will recommend Best Electric and Air to all of my friends and neighbors. I can't say enough what an awesome job they did for me.

During inspection of compressor, technician continually commented on how old (11 years) the unit was and stated it should be replaced immediately. Please note, we had asked for routine maintenance and had not had any issues with the unit. We had contacted Best Electric in response to a mailer we received which included a coupon for a reduced rate for yearly maintenance. After inspecting air handler, technician stated there was mold, rust and evidence of water leaks. Technician was adamant unit would fail within days or weeks and should be replaced. When we finally made it clear we were not committing to a replacement that day, the technician switched to a very hard sell for "improvements" to the system which could extend its life expectancy. He recommended a new capacitor and the addition of a hard start kit, crank case heater and UV lights, at a cost of $2,700. When we stated we needed some time to think about this, he responded by saying he would reduce the price by $400 if we had the work done that day and would "credit" the cost towards the new unit he stated we would need shortly. He did not cease pushing us to make a purchase until we stood up from the table and asked for his invoice. When he left he was surly and said he would see us soon when the unit failed. In mid afternoon of 5/26 (Memorial Day weekend) the unit stopped working. We called Best Air and they sent out the same technician. He said the problem was caused by a faulty transformer on the air handler and fixed it. He said it would keep tripping and needed to be replaced, at a cost of $335. He reiterated the need to buy either a new unit. We agreed to think about it over the weekend and call him back. We subsequently called another A/C company, who found the problem was a frayed thermostat wire, which was causing the transformer to trip. The repair was completed by the second company on 5/30 and we have had no problems since. We will never use Best Air for anything again and recommend everyone get a second opinion before following their recommendations. Our opinion is their technician was more focused on selling equipment rather than fixing the problem in the most cost efficient manner.

I'm completely perplexed at the negative postings - how can they differ so much from other A ratings people have left?!?! Our experiences have been nothing other than amazing!! I know for certain the owners of BEST ELECTRIC would want to know if any of their employee's were not doing the job! Did the customer call the office and ask to speak with the owner? I'm sure they would have worked with the customer. I know they take great pride in their work and want the job done correctly. As I said, they even came and fixed another company's mess at NO addtional charge!! Why on Earth would they leave a job of their own unfinished?! One posting mentioned the techs work on commission. Thats not even true!! I did my homework - I interviewed many different company's. MANY!! some were okay but no where near what Best can offer. BEST's people are educated, NATE certified, and very experienced techs. They are paid by the JOB not by the hour!! It has to be one in a million that the job hired wasn't done to perfection. I cant see them leaving the customer unsatisfied! As I said, there's more to the story above - but bottom line is the guys with the white hats defeated the one's wearing the black hats. It's a very happy ending to a story that could have had a very different outcome!! I'm happy to give BEST ELECTRIC as many rave reviews I can because they EARNED them!!!

This company always impresses me, year after year! I have had a maintenance plan with Best Electric and Air for several years. I've continued to have them maintain my A/C and electrical in two of my homes as well as do minor work because they are the most professional and knowledgeable company I've ever done business with. I also like the fact that they are family owned and operated unlike many companies here in SW Florida that are franchises or out-of-state corporate owned. The techs do excellent work and leave my home just as clean as it was before they arrived. What really impressed me this last time was when my upstairs A/C went down at 7pm at night where my kids sleep. It was burning up about 90 degrees up there. I called them around 7pm and the techncician arrived at my house in less than a hour, which is awesome! To keep it short, my filters were clogged so bad it froze my system up because I wasn't changing them out enough. He thawed it out and made ductwork adjustment so I could fit larger 5 inch filters so this doesn't happen again. They delivered these special order filters the next day to top it off! This company always does perfect work and they had my upstairs cooled down in about an hour. I couldn't have been more thankful because my whole family was able to sleep well with the house cooled down that night. I can't say enough great things about Best Electric and Air. I'll use them for life and recommend them to all my friends and family.

As for price - look, more times than not, you get what you pay for in life - Best wasnt the cheapest but they did the best most amazing work - they worked on our project until it was perfect - after working into the wee hours they returned the next day to finish up any loose ends. They DO have to make a profit -and they HAVE to pay their employee's what they are worth - why folks feel they should get quality work at below the going rate is beyond me. I know for certain none of the people that complained about the $ would be willing to work in Florida attics for hours upon hours in May, June, July and August and not be properly compensated. I know I wouldnt - that is a tough gig and these fine men have families to support!!!

This company really is The BEST! I've owned several different homes and had sizable work done on all of them, but I have never had such knowledgeable technicians and such great customer service than I got from Best Electric And Air. Their office staff and technicians were so polite and trustworthy and their work at my house was beyond my expectations. All the lighting turned out way better than I envisioned and they wore shoe covers in my house and cleaned up after themselves every day. The previous owners didn't maintain the A/C system and it was very dirty so the A/C technician from Best had to spend some time cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the A/C unit and the outside unit. He installed UV lights to get rid of bacteria that was growing and keep it clean. AMAZINGLY, my average electric bill after Best did the work is about $40 less a month! So as time goes by my savings will probably pay for the work the A/C guy did. I can't say enough how happy I am with Best Electric And Air. My 2 neighbors that recommended them feel the same way I do, and now I've referred them to 2 of my friends and they told me they are very happy with Best as well. I don't know why some people have posted bad reviews on Angie's List because my experience was great! I think its because the happy customers like me don't take the time to post positive reviews. Hopefully more happy customers will follow my lead and take the time. You get what you pay for in life, and I've learned that it is worth it to pay a higher price for premium service. Best went above and beyond! You can't go wrong with this company. I highly recommend them!

Horrible, sloppy work. Left exposed electrical wires, which shorted out and caused a fire. Left garden hose running. Ended up tearing out their work and hiring a different company to redo everthing. Their employees work on a commission and try to shove unneeded repairs at a high price. Absolutely would not recommend this company

I would never call Best Electric again and will tell all of my neighbors to avoid these bunglers. This was an expensive mistake! Hector left outlet covers loose, failed to tighten an exterior lamp that we paid him to install ... a complete and evil day of incompetence. Stay away from Best Electric.

that I had Best Electric and Air install a surge protector for due difficulties from power surges from the transformer close to my house. The service man said I could get 1/2 off of the bill of 994.75 if I purchased a service plan with them for $139. I agreed. The service man also suggested that I have my A/C reviewed when I purchased the service. I called them and asked them to check A/C at my house. Since the house is rented on an annual basis, I have to rely on what is recommended by the service men. The service man replace the filter as it was not sufficient enough. The filter that he put in was a 5" thick filter. The cost of the filter, plus installation, was $129.44 plus 15% discount I get 15% discount because I had purchased a service contract ($139.00). The new 5" filter by the same maker and the same model number can be purchased on the internet for $34.95. Given the weight of a filter, I could buy 4 of them, ask my tenant to install them and pay an additional $10, the amount that I had paid Best Electric and Air, and only pay for shipping. I was told that the ducts in the house were very dirty and needed to be cleaned, that I should have a UV light because of mold, a new filter and a primary drain safety float switch. The service man said that I should schedule the duct cleaning right away so as not to damage the A/C. He had replaced the filter already. said that he could install the UV system and the safety float switch before he left but that I would have to call and schedule the duct cleaning. Because I had purchased the premium package, he would install the primary float switch for free cost would have been $278.31 less 15%. The service person, Scott, installed a double UV system made by Ultravation at a cost of $1758.00 less 15%.My husband said the whole quoted cost of $2443 was a ridiculous amount. I called and spoke to Chadd Hodges and cancelled the duct cleaning. In looking over my previous A/C costs, I discovered that I discovered that I already had 1 UV light installed previously when we replaced the Air Handler in the A/C 2 years ago. I called a local A/C company whose name I got from a neighbor. I asked for an independent evaluation. My ducts are not dirty, I could have general maintenance and sanitizing for $250. In asking the company doing the independent evaluation, he said that this is the same thing that Best Electric does and charge $1200 less 15%. After the independent evaluation, I called Chadd Hodges and asked why Scott would have installed a double UV light when I already had one and I did not need 3. Why Scott would not have mentioned that I had one UV light. Chadd said that he has 3 UV lights in his house. He told me about the Ultravation dual bulb system and sent via attachment a description of the installation diagram and data regarding its specifications and studies. I asked for return of some of the money that I had paid for the installation of the UV system. He asked me what I thought was fair. I told him to return $1000. He would not do that. I said that I would have the Ultravation system removed and return it to him. He said that he could not use it. It was used. Rather than argue with him, I am paying for the UV lights. I told him that I was going to report him to the BBB. He had already told me that he had been voted #1 A/C company for four years. I would never use them again and I will call the BBB. In looking at a previous invoice, I see that I already had a secondary drain pan and float switch installed in 2009 by the company that replaced my air handler.

They came out and explained everything to us. They saved us a lot of money, and we are very happy with that. We have gone through a few providers that we have used that we don't like, but we are very happy with them. They did the job very well and in a timely manner.

No problem in getting the job done but again excessive charge.

Do not use this company. They have no problems overselling and over pricing

The company gave me a time window when the technician would arrive. The tech called at the end of the time window and stated he was on his way. He was about 15-20 minutes late. After 15min the technician made his initial diagnosis. 1) There was a leak and 2) most importantly there was a mold problem. The technician stated it would cost somehwere over $1500 to fix the leak and clean all the ducts because of the mold. He also recommended an electrostatic air cleaner to control the mold problem that would cost even more money. I decided to contract their services. Even after I made the decision to go with Best, I was not comfortable with the infomation presented to me, especially because of the high costs. The next day, I joined Anige's list and decided to get a second opinion from one of their top reviewed HVAC companies. The company was able to fix the A/C for $300 by fixing a tube weld on the condenser unit that same day. And there wasn't a mold issue so I didn't have to clean the ducts and get an air cleaner. Joining Angie's list was the best $15 I spent. I did have to pay Best AIR $100 for the estimate.

They were good. They did an extensive service and the price was probably $500 or $600. They did a quality service. They were able to do the installation promptly and they were able to do it right. Everything about them was good. I would use their services in the future too.

The entire process wnet seamlessly.

BUYERS BEWARE. Do NOT sign any contracts or service agreements with Best Electric. As other reports have stated, this firm thrives on diagnosing catastrophic conditions with your A/C system and your electric system. They will give you a report card on both and your home is guaranteed to fail in many areas. As other member reports have indicated, Best Electric uses scare tactics to convince you their services are needed. Follow the advice given by the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List and seek quotes from three different companies before choosing one. Also, demand a copy of the contract when you sign it to review and exercise your right to cancel within the first three days. BBB also advises against using service contractors who provide their own financing, even if it's through a financial institution. No matter how well documented your case is against the practices, ethics and workmanship of Best Electric, a judge will rule on the side of a signed contract. Again, do not enter into any signed agreements with Best Electric. The most recent printed mailer we received from Angie's List displays an advertisement for Best Electric. Although Angie's List states that no one can buy a recommendation from them, how many people will see a paid advertisement and interpret that as an endorsement? The credibility of Angies List comes in to question when they will accept advertising dollars from a company with a history of F ratings. I am not the homeowner but live in the home. I am writing this on behalf of the homeowner because her dealings with Best Electric were too upsetting for her to recount. However, she feels compelled to share this experience in the hope that others can be spared the expense, frustration and court time.

It was a nightmare. The tech guy they sent over actually threatend me, when i contacted his supervisor he could care less.

Best electric is a full service company.It is a licensed electrical firm and a full service HVAC company.As part of the full service you get complimentary periodic inspections of both your HVAC and electrical system.The truth is the complimentary electrical inspection of your existing electrical service is performed by a visionary who sees catastrophic events for your home at every turn.This salesman/teck predicted my electric panel box would cause major problems and my buss bar was very very bad and dangerous.The truth is I am a landlord who has dozens of old panels,I even have homes with a fuse box,yes a fuse box that works perfectly fine.During this so called free inspection the perils of my circuit breakers we given to me and unless I paid several thousand dollars to the "Best" company my life would be doomed to faulty circuitry.Well many months have gone by and life on the edge of an electric calamity have left this old man still in fine shape with his cataclysmic box of buss bar doom. I pointed out to the young man that the copper pipes that feed refrigerant from my condensing unit to the air handler installed by Best was way too far above ground not to cause a problem with our landscaper Cyril.He looked and agreed.With brute strength he twisted the two copper pipes into a hastily dug trench and eliminated what I perceived to be a potential problem.I could of done the same wrist twisting myself but was afraid I would crack the highly pressurized line and lose my refrigerant.After the arm twisting the young man performed no test to see if he had created any leaks and simply left,but not before bombarding me with a cavalcade of estimates to assure my safety in my home during my old age.I noticed after his visit it took progressively longer times for the home to cool.Upon my recent visit ,the unit ran non stop.I shut the unit down.I sent an email out to Best,no response,so I called another AC company who actually heard the leak when he arrived.The unit as I suspected was almost 100% out of refrigerant.As a year had passed from installation,the "best" boys blew me off with some polite verbiage. As it is now policy for Angie to give Best electric a chance to defend themselves,Chadd just give the Angie readers a straight answer to the question I now ask you in your response. If his teck did indeed adjust that pipe ,did he not have a duty to check the readjusted pipe for leaks?And if he did not, than who here is in error? My advice to you is to get several prices,you will find out "Best Electric does not give to the best price,and in my case the best service.Don't be fooled by polite platitudes and smooth portrayals of trade excellence this company sells.If this indeed had been a "best" company Chadd would of bellied up the the bar with a container of refrigerant,and over the years kept my business for the price of a jug of 410A.If you shop you will be able to beat their prices by many hundreds of dollars and get the same service,in my opinion.I own and operate a property management firm in NJ. This is a slick company that knows how to market.My 40 years in the trades tells me they are far from the Best! As a final PS to this report when I tried to discuss the matter by email with Chadd here is the blunt response I received from Chadd "My responsibility is to honor the terms of our warranty. Your warranty expired 6 months ago. Read your contract and do not ever contact me again. " Ask yourself is this really a company I want to deal with,especially if you run into a problem down the road?There is too much good competition if Florida,shop around FINAL UPDATE: I HAD A COMPANY CALL ECO AIR PUMP IN SOME 410A.NOT ONLY DID THEY CHARGE ME A BARGAIN OF $120 BUT THEY ALSO GAVE ME A SERVICE CONTRACT FOR TWO YEARS.ANYONE WOULD BE A FOOL TO DEAL WITH KEEGAN AND HIS CREW.CALL ECO AIR THAT ECO AIR FOR A RELIABLE COMPETITIVE COMPANY WHERE THEY ARE NOT OUT TO SELL YOU ALL SORTS OF EXTRA SERVICES YOU DO NOT NEED.

It's been so long ago that I really can't remember the specifics. Nothing negative to report.

Excellent service and follow through. The new unit had a leak (mechanical problem, not related to Best), which took a lot of return calls to fix. They hung in there, never giving up on it....even though many other companies would have. They are the BEST! Many years in business in South Florida, surviving the downturn for a reason. Would recommend them again in a heartbeat.

Please see the comments above. They are not the cheapest, but clearly the best value. They identified issues of which we were unaware, made recommendations but did not pressure for additional work. They were diligent in the use of their booties in the house and even place a "red carpet" at your door before entering.

We didn't have him repair the air conditioning because they didn't seem to know what was wrong. They said it needed to be cleaned, but that doesn't explain why it was pumping out mold to begin with. He really did try, and even brought another guy in. I felt like just cleaning it wouldn't solve the problem, so I didn't use them because they estimated the cleaning to be about $300 more than another company estimated.
