Best Home Services - Plumbing Electric Air

This company invariably recommends repairs, regardless of what system they are checking. Sometimes the repairs are necessary and sometimes not. I always call another company to do the work, because Best Home Services prices are consistently higher than anyone else's. The last time they recommended a repair to my AC compressor (telling me it would fail soon if not done), I called the company that installed the unit 4 years ago. That company found nothing wrong with my compressor. I had to pay a $49 fee for the service call. I called Best Home Services to complain. They sent out a supervisor, who confirmed the other company's findings. I asked to be compensated for the $49 I had to pay the other company. Best did not compensate me for my loss. I will not be renewing my contract with them.

My experience has been less than satisfactory. The technician was young inexperienced and nonresponsive to my problem. I was told on the phone when setting up the service call that they had a fully loaded parts truck and if they did not have the parts I needed there would be no service charge until they found the parts and installed them. NOT TRUE! They billed me for $199.00 service charge and said when they found the part they would call and come out. I gave them a Delta catalog. Wrote a check for the $199.00 and waited to hear from them. This was at the end of October. No call by December so I began to call them. No one called back ..then spoke with a manager who said he would check it out. No call back: called company again and a couple of days later the original technician called and was basically indignant. I said just mail me back the part u took with you and I would have someone else do the work. STILL WAITING for the return of my shower part...

Great. I called them, it was late afternoon, they answered phone, whereas other plumbers I called had an answering machine; they promised a response as soon as they could free a technician. He arrived within the hour and spent a couple hours fixing the problem. Very professional and friendly technician. Expert service.

They are very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone that would need work done.

The man came out and I thought he had done a good job and seemed very friendly. He "fixed the toilet" and further said it was necessary to change the water supply valve also, which wasn't a problem at the time but he changed it anyway and I paid $50 extra. He was on his way after some pleasantries and a thank you exchanged. I had to call back a few weeks later because the toilet apparatus they installed was not working. I asked for the same person so he would know exactly what was done before. The float would not rise, and he said it was faulty and installed another. Within 4 months the same thing happened again. I did not and will not send for this company again because the same young man who when he arrived the second time was so concerned with my marital status and questioning me about whether I had a boyfriend or not. He was very obviously was looking at all of my family photos of my daughter and I while he was asking. I thought him to be pushy, unprofessional, and out of line. Now, after 2 times being out to repair my toilet, the float failed again and I had to stop the water with the valve and now that is broken as well, making me have to spend even more money on a new water line valve and a new toilet apparatus. Because of "Best" I am now having to fill my toilet with a bucket of water and then flush it until I can find another plumber..and pay all over again. Thanks allot.

Tech came for maintenance and said the system was so bad that he could not do anything to help it, and did not charge me for the service call. I got two other opinions and they were the same. Got 3 proposals to replace system. Chose Best.They financed it for 36 months with NO interest. They came the next day and installed the new system. I added a UVA system to control dust, mildew & mold. The installation crew was excellent, very professional, personable and pleasant. Went about their work in a workman like manner and left the site spotless. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

The price was exorbitant. The unit should have been under warranty and they ended up charging us for something that should have been under warranty. We sent a letter to the company and we haven't heard anything back.

When Jay came the door, he stated his name, gave me his photo card, and put on booties. It only got better from there!! First he looked at the water filled sink and proceeded to tell me he had to drain it before he could analyze it. After, he told me what he thought and gab e two options. I asked him to snake the drain before I made a decision on at thing else. Success!! He then explained about my old disposal (bad) and gave me three options in writing. I opted for the best and he finished soon after. Jay was is an excellent plumber and a real gentleman. He has a wonderful personality. I definitely will be calling Best Home for all my electrical, plumbing and air conditioning work in the future. A class business.

Both service technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly. They performed their tasks efficiently and effectively. Upon completion of their work each technician explained in lay terms what they had done We were very pleased with their work and customer service orientation.

Professional, Proficient, and Pleasant - Excellent Experience

Not good. Bought them in because of add for new system. They said it would be about $90/lbs to add 3lbs of freon which I thought was high but they would take it off of new system price so I told them to go ahead. He put test gauges on and showed it was low. He charged the system up to proper temps buy did not use a scale to weight the freon bottle so there was no way to know if he put 1lbs or 3lbs in. Charged me $294. And gave me a quote for a Bryant 3.5 ton 14 seer for $4995. That was about the price I had been seeing from all of the other companies plus or minus a few hundred. I said that I wanted to take advantage of the one item that they were advertising in the paper. He acted like he did not know what I was talking about. They were giving a choice of three different things you could get for free with a new system and one was a free upgrade from a 14 Seer to a 16 Seer AC unit. That is a good deal so that was the main reason I had called them out. He said he had never heard of it even after I handed him the add from the paper from two days earlier. He said that he had to call manager. I was getting very irritated by now. He came back crossed out the 4995 and said it would be 5787. Said he had already given me a discount for the 14 Seer. At that time I paid the 294 and had him leave. He also wanted me to sign something that said I wouldn't cancel check and some other things and I said no he had the check and he should just leave. This is the classic bate and switch. Be very careful if you are going to use these guys. Ending up using Lifetime air.

Same day Service. Four hour window arrival time given (12-4). At 12:30 we were contacted that Tech was delayed at last call and would be there between 1-4. Emailed at 12:33 that the Tech was on his way to our location. Tech arrived in clean and neat uniform. Assessed the situation. He then brought me to the areas of concern and explained the situation in layman's terms. An quote was then presented and the work completed. Because we lease our building he the quote also included future repair that need to be addressed by the landlord. I'm doing new flooring so Best Home Service came one day to take the old toilets out and when the new flooring was complete they came back to install the new toilets. Also during the course of the renovations a bathroom pipe that had been punctured during build out, started to leak when the baseboards were pulled. Best Home Services made the repair on very short notice thankfully. Who knew one tiny nail installed in a baseboard 11 years ago would hold back all the water going through that pipe for all of those years!! Over the course of this renovation, I had three separate plumbers, Joe, Jay and Shain. All were efficient, knowledgeable and professional.
