The first tech that came out was really pretty good. He looked at the job, told me my options and a day or so later gave me a price. I accepted the offer and told him I'd give him a deposit for the work. Then, I got contacted by someone else in the company, his partner, who upped the estimate $500. I'm not an expert but $1500 for just a tree shaping job seemed high. I didn't respond back.

Interesting. I apologize for your bad experience. We don't do bait and switch. We don't take deposits except on rare occasions. It is our policy not to quote work onsite because things can be missed and misunderstandings like this can occur. We send out 1 estimator that evaluates the job and prepares a detailed proposal detailing the work that will be performed. The proposal is then sent to the customer to be signed. If they agree with our proposed work & price, the proposal is signed & returned. After the customer signs the proposal, we call the customer & schedule the work with the customer and then perform the work on the scheduled date. I am sorry you had a bad experience and we will try and make sure this doesn't happen again . Price is based on a number of factors that were evidently not shared with you . The cost of doing quality work, protection of your lawn , house and clean up is not cheap. The cost of trained professional employees , professional equipment and proper insurances all add to our cost. Thank You for your evaluation we will strive to do better.

Initial call from them was promising. Colin stopped two days later to look the job over, said he'd Email the estimate. He did not. I never heard from them again.
